The Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854 took place in Kansas and Nebraska. The main people involved in the event, were Stephen Douglass, John Brown, John Geary, and Charles Sumner.

On August 12, the Americans of Louisiana woke up with water in their houses. A week passed, and now thousands evacuated the flooded regions around Baton Rouge. 40,000 homes were ravaged, and several were found deceased. People were stranded on highways and rooftops, trapped in deep waters infested with rodents and snakes, and floating through the destruction onto mattresses. Throughout the streets of Portland stands the walls of a house that saw some of North Dakota’s most historical events. Built in 1880, John E. Fladeland was able to call this house his home. Fladeland was born in Winona, Minnesota in 1861 and moved to Portland, North Dakota as a young adult where he bought Forbes and Soldahl drug stores and managed the move theatre in town. After moving to North Dakota, the pharmacist ended up owning drug stores in Sutton, Luverne, and Bottineau.

The Ohio statehouse had multiple people contribute to its construction; there were numerous architects and several others. In 1838 there was a design competition held by the government to decide how the building would be built. Many entries were received from the public around the county, and most were either architects or artists. The winner was Henry Walter from Cincinnati while second place went to Martin E. Thompson from New York and third place went to Thomas Cole who was a landscape painter. The design of the statehouse was centered around all three of the winners, and Alexander Jackson Davis, an architectural consultant, drew the design. The construction of the statehouse began on July 4, 1839, and 22 years later the structure was completed in 1861.

St. Louis is a large city in east central Missouri, situated just along the Mississippi River. Did you know that Vermont used to have historical indian tribes? Including, Mahicans and Abenaki tribes. In the Abenaki tribe they settled in Vermont, until they got kicked out of the state in the 1600’s. Also, the Mahicans hunted in the Southwestern and Western part of Vermont making temporary settlements and living off of the food they hunted and the skin they perished of of the animals that were hunted. Both of these very interesting tribes used every single part of the animals that they would hunt. The fur was used as coats, the meat for food, the dung for energy, and so many more.

Washington state is home to many beautiful plants and animal. The best thing in the Pacific northwest is not the apples or the amazing hikes the best thing is the fishing industry. When most washingtonians are reading this The only thing they should be asking themselves right now is why are still reading this when you could be on some beautiful lake or river catching those monsters!
