New President: Are you safe? Since Mr. Trump started his campaign to become the next president, most people took him as a complete joke. Many people did not think that he would make it far enough. Although, many people thought that it was a great idea to have such a high profile multi-millionaire run for president. They believed that he would really “make America great again”. Others, like myself were astonished at the joke and mockery this man was making out of everyday people. Most of us began to feel fear for the future. Not only were we scared for the future but we were scared of the unknown.
The day Trump won the presidential election, my family cried. Not only are we minorities, but we are Mexican. My children have never cried

How much is this wall going to cost us? A wall is not going to stop incoming traffic, nor will it stop the illegal drugs that cross the border on a daily basis. There will always be a way for these drugs and people to cross into the United States, whether it is legally or illegally. The drug problem needs to first be fixed within our country in order for the demand for them to decrease. The decrease in need for drugs will decrease the drugs being brought into the country. Yes, drugs can kill and are dangerous but how is the wall going to stop all of this? Maybe the best plan of action for that would be to have the money that would go to build a wall go to help drug addicts get into programs that could assist them with stopping their use in drugs and becoming active members of society.
A few weeks ago they started the mass raids in many different states rounding up “illegal criminals”. One of those arrested was a young man that was at home while ICE raided his house in search of his father. Unfortunately for this young man he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. This young man is a DACA beneficiary. DACA is a program that was brought out with president Obama’s executive order. This program is made to protect those that were brought into the United States as minors (before the age of 16). In order to qualify for DACA you had to present a long list of proofs. You had to prove your identity. You must prove that you were physically present inside of the United
Donald Trump before he became the 45th president, his famous campaign motto “Make America Great Again” caught the attention of many Americans, but mostly by white Americans. Trump’s tactics made him a very clever man throughout the election, he had many techniques on how to gain the American vote. Throughout his campaign, he was attentive of the men around him. For example, Trump knew exactly what to say to get the attention of the American people. He already had in mind who he was going to pick in position for foreign policy, national security, and defense (“Donald Trump is the ultimate Machiavellian prince”). With this intention, he brought comfort to Americans, yet the people he was going to pick for these positions all have a common trait, which was all of them are specialist in the Middle East and Russia. Not only, was Trump attentive of America, yet he kept in mind how it was going to affect
In September of 2017, the Trump administration made a statement saying that DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) will come to an end, calling the program unconstitutional and criticizing it as "unilateral executive amnesty." DACA is an executive order created by former President Barack Obama, and the program allows hundreds of thousands of young immigrants who came to the United States as a child illegally to remain in the United States. The majority of applicants to DACA cannot have serious criminal history and must have been brought to the US before 2007, under the age of 16. DACA allows for these young people to live and work inside the US legally without risk of deportation. Now, the issue with Trump ending

After those two years this

Background Information: President Barack Obama created DACA through a 2012 executive order. The program has allowed hundreds of thousands of young people who were brought to the United States illegally as children to remain in the country. People who apply for the program can not have major criminal histories, and must have arrived in the U.S. before 2007, when they were under the age of 16. DACA recipients can live and work legally in the U.S. for renewable two-year periods. DACA was a agreement created by the Obama administration after Congress failed to approve the Dream Act. Experts estimate that about 11.5 million residents in the United States are unauthorized immigrants
DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) was created in 2012 by the Obama administration after the DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act failed. It allows children under the age of 17 that were brought into the country illegally to gain temporary protection from deportation, a Social Security card, a driver’s license, and permission to obtain a work
On Tuesday fifth, 2017 the President, Donald Trump ordered to put an end to the obama-era the protects young immigrant from deportation, with a six month delay. This six month delay is supposed to urge Congress to come up with a plan as a replacement to DACA. What is DACA? DACA is a program that was formed through executive order by former President Barack Obama in 2012 and allows certain young immigrant, called Dreamers, who come to the U.S. illegally as minors to be protected from deportation. which is subject to renewal. Beneficiary from DACA obtain work permits for 2 years and they are subject to renewal every 2 years. How many young immigrants benefit from DACA? 800,000 undocumented youth are under this protection. That's a large
A social issue that is currently whirling around the United States is the discussion of what is going to happen with DACA recipients. DACA stands for The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and they are also commonly referred to as “Dreamers” (Michelle Mark 2017). The DACA act was set in place in 2012 by President Barrack Obama and it provided young immigrants the chance to apply for temporary protection from deportation. Often times children are too young to know what is going on and their parents bring them into the United States so they are then protected under the DACA act. It is also only eligible to immigrants who have been in the United States since 2007 and were under 16 years of age; 30 or younger as of June 2012, in high school or have a diploma or GED and a clean criminal record (Dara Lind 2017). The program does not grant legal status, put them on a path to citizenship and or legalization (Michelle Mark 2017). The protection does allow these people to get authorization to work and obtain a valid driver’s license in some states. DACA provides the opportunity for them to have the chance to further their education, buy cars, homes and even the possibility of starting a business (Dara Lind 2017). Currently 800, 000 people depend on the DACA Act in the United States (Michelle Mark). Without the DACA Act, the recipients are essentially an illegal immigrant.

Building this wall will be extremely expensive for the US. The wall is estimated to range as high as $14 billion. The US could be spending this money on better things. Hurricane Harvey alone is estimated to cost the US and its citizens up to $40 billion. The combination of lost homes and businesses adds up quick. Building this wall would be a huge waste of money, the government should be focusing on aiding those already living in the country as opposed to keeping others out.
A one thousand wall would certainly keep any Mexican out of the United States. Lots of other totalitarian regimes and democracies have built a wall before including India, Thailand, Israel, South Africa, and the European Union. A wall will keep the rapists, criminals, and drug cartels from going to Mexico while keeping those qualified Mexican workers back where they belong. The construction of the wall will also provide a lot of jobs for those poor Canadian illegal immigrants who are seeking safety from the cold up north. The wall can also act as a blank canvas for many out of work artists or they can use the paper from the trees that are torn down in the process. Mexico is also going pay for the wall because they are and that's that,
Created by President Obama and passed by Congress on June 15, 2012, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals also known as DACA is a policy that protects undocumented individuals brought to the U.S by their parents as a minor. This policy gave undocumented immigrants a period of two years in which they are protected against deportation, able to get a job and obtain a driver's license.
As a result, this gives hope to immigrants all over the world who dream of coming to the United States in hopes of the American dream. Founded by former president Obama, his administration thought that children who were brought to the United States illegally should not be punished for wanting to pursue a better life. The DACA community is not an organization in which young immigrants get a free pass to live in the United States. As children, these recipients grow up to love and care for his/her country in which many have willingly joined the U.S. military out of love and respect to serve and protect our freedom. With that, many DACA recipients go through extensive background checks, but in order to be in the United States they also have to pay taxes, fees, file lots of paperwork, and have no criminal history whatsoever. Many of these recipients just want a safe place to go to school and work in order to provide for their families and also for themselves. To provide, work hard, and keep a clean profile is what’s most important to these recipients.
We would be spending hundreds of billions of dollars to learn that we might not even accomplish much. How do we know for sure that if we spend time on building this expensive wall, it will put a stop to illegal immigrants entering the United States? We cannot just assume that just because we build up this wall or fence, those who want to enter the U.S. illegally will shrug their shoulders and turn their backs against the wall. It will lead to other things, such as the expansion of the smuggling act by increasing their business. The cost of 670 miles wall can cost up to $2.4 billion alone. Not only does the wall need to be set up, but there are a few other things that need to be installed. For example, they would need to install cameras, vehicle barriers, lighting, and more in order to catch people that still try to pass. Also, they would have to include maintenance and upkeep. Donald Trump stated in his Presidential Announcement Speech, “..I’ll build them inexpensively.” Building a wall inexpensively is quite difficult to achieve. If achieved, it might not be as beneficial as some believe it . Our United States national debt has skyrocketed. Building this wall will just make it go above and beyond its limits. In the end of 2015, the national debt was estimated to be $21.7 trillion, including federal $18.2 trillion, state $1.15 trillion, and local $1.9 trillion. Although some argue that the money will be put to good use and help the
America is a country that adores its past, present and future. To most of us, our past only serves to educate us about our future, but what we do daily determines our future. As a student, I therefore feel that it’s important that we learn more about what we need to do so as to achieve what we need in our lives. Our future is highly determined by our leaders, what they advocate for and the policies that they put in place are what keeps this country moving. In November last year, this country went into an election, the citizens and the congress elected President Donald Trump to take office as the 45th president of the United States, (Spring, 2017).
