Ethics Difficult to define, ethical responsibility is the ability to recognize, interpret and act upon multiple principles and values according to the standards within a given field and/or context (Investopedia LLC., 2015). Social responsibility is the concept that businesses develop a positive relationship to the society and environment, which they operate; and not focus, solely on maximizing profits (Stan Mack, 2015). Not Business As Usual is a documentary that explores the beginnings of “conscious capitalism” and its unintentional price of success. The film offers an alternative view of businesses by tracking the movement of a few entrepreneurs that aspire to include social and environmental considerations in addition to seeking profit in their businesses. A free market for goods and services, capitalism is substantial. It drives innovation, progress, and prosperity. However, should “profit” be the only metric to measure success?
