Introduction Nursing is an excellent career path to choose in today's society and a great chance to contribute to bettering the world of medicine. Nursing offers a broad variety of job opportunities and allows employers to live comfortably while receiving additional benefits. Once you begin a career in nursing you have a sturdy job for life. History Bisk(2016) claimed from the earliest times Florence Nightingale helped evolve the world of Nursing. Nightingale also set standards for the profession as the world knows it's today. She started her profession when she was just a child and began to care for the ill villagers around her family home. In 1854,Nightingale was asked to form a team of nurses to care for the sick or injured soldiers in Crimea. She also cared for patients all hours of the day at night using an oil lamp so she was able to see at night while attending to her patients. When Nightingale was done in Crimea she arrived at England she wrote notes on matters affecting health. The notes later helped reform several military …show more content…

Requirements range from a diploma to a bachelor's degree. Diploma programs are offered at hospitals and typically last three years. An Associates degree in nursing are offered at community colleges and take an average of two years to complete and a Bachelor degrees in nursing are offered at universities and take four years to complete. All nursing school programs combine classroom instructions with supervised clinical experience. A clinical for nursing is an observation or treatment of actual patients rather than learning mainly from books and labs. Other courses that a nursing student may be required to take are anatomy,physiology, microbiology,chemistry,nutrition,and psychology.
