5. Explain why it is important to provide opportunities for learners to develop their English, Mathematics, ICT and wider skills (1.3) learners will find it very difficult to succeed in education, work and life without a solid grounding in basic level of English, maths and ICT skills. The ability to communicate easily with others, read and even understand information, maths is in everyday of our life to solve problems and use a range of current information. ICT is very important in any educational course or job that the learner might want to into. For example in a hair and beauty salon we use chemicals and product to do a clients hair we have to make sure that everything measure properly as it could result in uneven colour or over use of
This training program is intended to be provided for the staff (clinical and non-clinical) of primary unit care of the public healthcare system of the Dominican Republic. These set of employees are formed by three different groups: general physicians, nurses, and health promoters. All these groups have interaction with patients under different circumstances.
Most kids go to school expecting to learn the basic math problems, and how to spell “appreciate”. But in all honestly school is bigger than that, education has a broader picture. It’s learning life lessons and basic knowledge of the world around them. It helps them become a better person to be around and work with. Education is important in many ways. Students learn to solve the bigger problems as well as learning communication and organizational skills which are key components to success not only in school, but out of school as well; but these important life lessons are becoming more difficult to achieve due to the growth of technology.
The concept of adults as learners emerged both in this country and in Europe shortly after World War I; however, only in the last few decades has the theory of adult learning matured. Knowles, Tough, Houle, and Park, among others, have written extensively on the idea of the adult learner. In Tennant's book (1997), he discussed Knowles' adult learning theory. Knowles used the term andragogy to label adult learning theory. The andragogical model of the adult learner is based on the assumptions that adults need to know; adults have a need to be self-directed learners and have a self-concept of being responsible for their own decisions and for their own lives; adults bring reservoirs of
Some Evidence suggests that there are far-reaching effects of technology on the education of young children. It is important for children to be prepared for the course that technological advancements have taken. Technology and the internet have been integrated into daily life, and are dominant in education. New technologies are important for early childhood educators if they are to prepare students for the technological world. Some research even suggest a potential beneficial linkage between ICT usage and student learning achievement.
1.) The students improve their skills in hands on computer and also in their communication skills.
Technology has been in the world for decades. Whereas, the more technology improves, the more people are relying on using it. For example, one of these ways is introducing technology to the school system. As the graph below shows how teachers used technologies in the classroom. Granted that, by the next academic year, mobile devices will be available for 1-to-1 computing for half the K-12 student and teacher population in the United States, according to Futuresource Consulting Ltd., a research and forecasting company based in the United Kingdom. In fact, by calendar year 2016, 54 percent of students and teachers will have access to a school-issued personal computing device, the study projects. (Molnar) Therefore, having technology in schools has many different positive and negative benefits to student’s performance in the classroom. Nowadays, students no longer have to carry around their books because of technology. Moreover, books can now be downloaded straight to a computer or tablet device. In particular, all the information that needed for the class will be all in one place for the student to use. For instance, in the past teachers used books, chalkboard, and worksheets in the classroom. In contrast to the present where technology is mainly used. Nowadays, school start introducing technology to kids when they first start kindergarten. Presently, kids are using laptops, iPad, and tablets in the classroom and for their homework assignment. However, technology in the
One of the technologies that help students the most is computers. They help students to learn various skills such as word processing, and access resources such as show links, mathematical formulas, and other features. Computers also help students and teachers to work collaboratively, communicate with each other, and learn important

The 'ICT Uses in Education ' program focuses on how ICT is adapted to particular school subjects at the various educational levels. It encourages various groups to produce and share the educational uses of ICT and digital learning resources.
Not even a single aspect of life has remained untouched or unaffected by the advent of information communication technology. But one aspect of life that is most affected by ICT is education. ICT has brought about various changes in the style of teaching, in working conditions, and in the ways which are used in handling information. Teaching approaches are being highly modified by the presence of ICT (Mikre, 2011).
A traditional use of information and communication technology is skills reinforcement; for example, students/pupils who need additional practice in reading might work individually on computers equipped with reading comprehension software (Osumah, 2003). An authentic use of information and communication technology on the other hand, is using it as a tool to accomplish a complex task; for example, students who are creating a written report might use the internet for research, word-processing software to write and format the text and hypermedia software to add images.
This research work will therefore enable stakeholders in education, i.e. parents, teachers, government etc., to identify the types of information need by students and also broaden the information search scope of secondary school students. It is also hoped that the finding from this study will serve as catalyst to the government in providing good ICT facilities. Such as a well-equipped library, laboratory equipment and information centers that will boost the teaching and learning processes. It is believed that the outcome of this study will facilitate the creation of a dynamic school curriculum, that will help students and teachers acquire adequate and current information. This will in turn help them to be self- dependent and enable them in solving life’s problem.
Cener, E. et. al. (2015), “The Impact of ICT on Pupils’ Achievement and Attitudes in Social Studies.
Figure 2 shows that mean score was 3.21 and standard deviation of students’ skills and competences on commonly used ICT tools and software in the selected PSS was 0.585. Table 5 also shows the T-test analysis of males and females, with means score of 3.44 for males and 3.00 for females. Both students’ males and female skills and competence on commonly used ICT tools and software was rated as moderate. These skills includes, using: e-mail applications effectively, internet facilities like Bulletin board, mailing lists and discussion groups, web browsers and search engines, Microsoft word, spreadsheet programs and
