The success or failure of an organisation can often be attributed to the sum of their parts such as staff, profit, products, strategy, technology, environment, structure and culture. These parts or factors can directly contribute to the strengths or weaknesses of an organisation and they are all interrelated. Organizational structure includes, but is not limited to, power and reporting relationships such as those in organization charts, behaviors required of organization members by organizational rules, and patterns of decision making and communication among organization members. It encompasses both formal and informal aspects of relationships between members (Ambrose & Schminke, 2003). This section will discuss the aspects of the matrix, mechanistic, and organic organizational designs.

Organizational structures may form in many ways; these were influenced by factors such as the purpose, size of the company or the complexity of the tasks it performs, and the external environment and culture. Moreover, the products, services or the location of the organization will also determine which structure was the best. The structure chosen will govern the way in which the organization operates and could occur either positive or negative effects. Below are some types of organizational structure that usually see.

First impressions are crucial. If a classroom is organized and appropriately arranged, then it is apparent that the teacher possesses good management skills. A variety of things must be considered when arranging the classroom. It “must contain interesting materials appropriate to a child’s stage of intellectual development” and not appear thrown together (Streng, 1978). All fire exits, doorways, and main walkways must be kept open and free of clutter while built in cupboards, drawers, closets, etc must be easily accessible as well. The desk arrangement, perhaps the most important element, requires several considerations. Placing the students desks in groups promotes peer tutoring and collaborative activities.

All organizations have an organizational structure, which is determined by various factors including jobs, number of departments, the number of people managed by an individual, that is, the span of control, and the decision-making process (Arora, Belenzon, & Rios, 2014; Mell, Van Knippenberg, & Van Ginkel, 2014). Organizational structures fall into two broad categories, centralized and decentralized. Centralized organizational structures concentrate decision-making and authority to a single executive committee or team with information flowing from the top down. Decentralized organizational structures typically take on the persona of multiple entities and are characterized by management redundancies (Arora et al., 2014; Mell et al., 2014)). Organizational structures differ for various reasons, including strategy, organizational size, technology, the environment, and global implications. These factors influence the culture within the organization.

An organizational structure is a composition that specifies a company 's hierarchical structure. There are various kinds of conformations that organizations can choose to build their business around. The organizational structure exemplifies the way in which control and business affairs have been appointed within the organization. Organizational structure encompasses the design of an organization though people positioning and responsibilities in order for organizational goals can be reached. Some of the time, a formal structure is not necessary due to a small informal business setting. In large organization responsibilities must be distributed. Hence, the reason that policies and procedures are established that assign responsibilities for numerous positions. The determination of these organizational functions (such as marketing, finance, human resources, and operations) influence and determine the organizational structure of your an organization. The three main types of organizational structures are functional structure, divisional structure, and matrix structure.

The structure of an organization, along with its policies and procedures, has a direct impact on how an organization operates and how well it will perform. The structure of an organization describes how a company is organized. This may include roles, responsibilities, authority chains and relationships. Facilities Management is headed by Vice President Kevin Freeman under the immediate direction of Assistant Vice President Mark Rodolf. The management team of Facilities Management includes the Assistant Vice President, the Physical Plant Director and Assistant Director, an Assistant Director of Facilities Operations, and the Director of Architectural and Engineering Services. The management group is solely responsible for deriving, articulating, communicating and implementing the vision and direction of Facilities Management. Three separate divisions comprise Facilities Management: Architectural and Engineering Services, the Physical Plant, and the business team. Figure 2 represents the Facilities Management organizational chart as of November 2016.

STRUCTURE: Structure is a process which flow from top level to lower level and it defines how to achieve the goals. Organisational design is a process which shows the procedure and strategy for achieve the goals. Main motive of both is same.
