My leadership style is about how I treat under me with respect, approachable and willing to listen with different suggestions in decision making. I want to have a cooperative teamwork, little supervision, and motivation with professionalism. There is always room for training in developing skills and expertise and encouragement to go above and beyond.

Using these recommended types of leadership styles should set the Denver Airport Project up for success. Hopefully, minimizing conflicts and providing the proper tools to overcome any obstacles along the way. The combination of these styles will provide the communication, teamwork and the completion of tasks to meet the goals of the project.

My leadership style is a combination of two of the leadership styles mentioned in this module. The transformational leadership style mostly exemplifies my style and personality. However, I have implemented situational leadership based on the skill level of the teachers assigned to my school and happenings within the community.

The leadership style which I believe is the most affective is a democratic leadership. The democratic leadership style encourages team members to voice their option and to be included in the decision making process. When team members are involved in decision making they tend to have more buy in on what is happening in their departments and making necessary improvements. Democratic leadership style tends to create a positive working relationship between employees and leadership. When taking leadership styles into consideration for my project, reducing the number of Hospital Acquired Pressure Ulcers, this is the leadership role I think will work best. Interviews were preformed to get input from the staff that affects the goal for my project.

Two approaches to leadership styles classification were used: Full Range Leadership model [1] and six styles of leadership [2].

In terms of leadership styles a wide variety exists for one to employ (Boykins, 2013). There isn’t firm consensus as to which styles prove to be the most effective. Different situations call for different approaches. In the article, Empirical Study of Leadership Styles, it discusses several leadership styles that I can relate to.

This model identifies five different leadership styles based on the concern for people and the concern for production. It is important to remember that none of the concerns are right or wrong, and the concerns are ideally balanced to the respective situational context of leadership. From all of the readings in the course thus far, the two resonant leadership styles that caught my attention were from the book Primal Leadership: realizing the power of emotional intelligence. The first is the visionary leadership style, which is strongly reminiscent of the charismatic style discussed in my leadership article review. This style of leader focuses on future possibilities and considered to be exceptionally positive and transformative in nature. The second leadership style is the democratic style which embodies collaboration, positive influence, and encouragement of ideas. Key strengths of the democratic style include communication and listening.

Through experience, business leaders are coming to understand that management styles are more about organizational circumstance rather than individual preferences. Often, it is necessary to use more than one leadership style. Which ones depend on what challenge the business leader currently faces.
