Within the workplace a professional is someone who's is constantly striving for excellence and continuously meets the regulatory standards set by the General Pharmaceutical council (GPHC). There are three types of professional interpersonal (this is contact between patients and college, where the individual will perform selfless acts to help others), public professionalism (this is societies expectation of what it means to be a professional, having the knowledge, being approachable, responsible) and intrapersonal professional (this is your own individual professionalism where by you are responsible for making sure your knowledge is up to date and providing genuine care. The GPHC code of conduct is an extension of the of GPHC standards, which outline what is expected of trainee pharmacy technicians, following these standards will help ensure that all technicians not only follow the trust values but also maintain professionalism throughout their training and their career. Within this essay I will examine how to define a professional within the workplace and the characteristics that are associated with a professional, as well as comparing these traits to the PTPT code The GPHC code of conduct for PTPTs:

Professionalism is an adherence to a set of values comprising both a formally agreed-upon code of conduct and the informal expectations of colleagues, clients and society. The key values include acting in a patient's interest, responsiveness to the health needs of society, maintaining the highest standards of excellence in the practice of medicine and in the generation and dissemination of knowledge. In addition to medical knowledge and skills, medical professionals should present psychosocial and humanistic qualities such as caring, empathy, humility and compassion, as well as social responsibility and sensitivity to people's culture and beliefs. All these qualities are expected of members of highly trained professions.

The Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (CEPC) has been formulated on the basis of article 44, 45, 46, 47 of BIP constitution, to secure the rights and benefits of the Planners community in Bangladesh. CEPC not only provide guidance and support to the members of BIP on their lead in the professional field but also offers assurance to the client who avails the services of Planners. Members have the opportunity to express their opinion about professional affairs and CEPC; the Executive Committee will pay attention for definite valid reason.
