The creators recruited the help of over 70 Pearl Harbor survivors to recount exactly what they saw and how they felt during the attack. 20 vintage aircraft from around the world were flown for some of the aerial footage. The producers also got permission from the Pentagon to use mothballed ships to use as a model for the endeavor of recreating Battleship Row.
Michael Bay and his writing staff took all of the stories and accounts told by the survivors and tried to instill each story into the film somehow. Many of the suggested stories and recollections were used in the film. Bay felt for the movie to be its most compelling that the story of the survivors had to be told in its entirety. This also added to the sense of reality that Bay wanted to convey to the audience.
The film also encompassed another story line that focused away from the actions of the attack on Pearl Harbor and gave the film more than just a Naval attack. The filmmakers had to have more to the story than the initial attack. They added the love triangle between the 3 main characters and added the child to give the story a more dramatic plot. The background of this film was added to give the viewer more clarity of what it took to be a pilot and also to add to the overall effect of the film.
Production of the film's intense attack scenes were filmed in the same area the actual attack took place on that fateful day in 1941. Large

For a long time, when anyone thought of a war movie, they immediately thought of Darryl F. Zanuck’s, The Longest Day. Cornelius Ryan, who was the author of the book by the same name, and happened to be a D-day veteran himself, wrote the movie. The book meticulously recreates the events preceding and during the invasion. It is filled with detailed descriptions of multiple occurrences during the invasion. It explains everything from mass attacks on beaches and towns to humorous anecdotes. The book wasn’t exactly a story involving characters, and neither was the film. The Longest Day is more a story of tragedy, glory, and courage surrounding one very important day. And even though mainly American and

It shows that in this understanding of how a story is constructed, each individual unit of action and dialogue within a scene adds certain elements to the story itself and allows mini-deconstructions of character within them.
The movie Pearl Harbor, while fiction, depicts the real life events of December 7th, 1941.
There are many movies based on historical incident. The most important thing when we make ad historical movie is the historical investigation. If a screenwriter and director did not enough historical investigations, their movies completeness will be good enough to satisfy audiences and the republic of movie critics. This movie is the typical and representative movie which the director and screenwriter did not care about the historical investigation for.
This movie however had a solder give a little speech before watching it talking about the true American soldier and how important it is to show our support. By the late 1942 nearly one-third of the features dealt directly with the war effort.
The movie Pearl Harbor takes place from the early 1920s through the early 1940s to the late 1940s. The movie was made and released into the theaters on May 25th 2001. The movie was created at the time that many Hollywood Blockbusters had released, the movie Titanic and Saving Private Ryan, two very successful historical movies. War movies have generally 2 purposes when released: To make a profit and, likening back to war propaganda films, to sell patriotism, some movies going all the way to propaganda. War movies, in this case American war movies, are designed to make Americans feel good, to feel a sense of pride in the nation. The movies themselves honor servicemembers past and present. This comes at a time after the Gulf War and just before the two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that will shape the next decade in American Foreign Policy and war films.
However, putting our superficial analytical approach beside and using our holistic approach, its quite evident that Spielberg tries to make this war look like all American as he ignored the contributions of other nations in the D Day landing on the Omaha beach specifically. On the other hand, Spielberg’s best ever can also be criticized on the basis of

Pearl Harbor is a docu-drama that was released May 25 2001 and details the attack of the Empire of Japan on the Naval and Air forces the United States had stationed at Pearl Harbor, located on the Hawaiian Islands that brought the United States into World War II. The story of Pearl Harbor, and the men and women who became heroes that day is a story that needs to be told. People need to know what happened that day so that they will never take for granted the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women every day. This movie is very
Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 Steven Spielberg directed, award winning film. The film won 5 Oscars and in 2014 was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress, being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." ("Saving Private Ryan", 2017) Yet, these awards are not what interests me in Saving Private Ryan: it’s the intense half hour sequence at the film’s beginning which immerses the viewer into the Omaha Beach landing in Normandy.
3. How accurate is displayed when the actions and attacks a nurse of the hospital?
First of all in the movie Pearl Harbor, the actual sequence of events that occured on December 7, 1941 was that the japanese sent two seperate waves of fighter planes to attack the U.S Naval base of Pearl Harbor. (Memorials) However in the movie Pearl Harbor the attack on the naval base was depicted as being just a single wave of japanese fighter pilots. This greatly affects the movies credibility of being historically accurate by providing a false picture of what happened at the attack of the Naval base.
