Personal Goals Assignment

In the beginning of the semester, I felt a little annoyed that I had to plan a personal goal. I was afraid that I was going to fail once again during the journey of losing weight. My personal goal was to lose five pounds by April 1, 2016. I had planned to achieve this goal by eating healthier snacks, exercising, and meal prepping. Trying to achieve this goal was not easy. I had a constant temptation of breaking my diet and I kept trying to buy fast food whenever I saw myself tight with my school and work schedule. However, I was able to achieve my goal because I was meal prepping every night, I kept an alarm on my phone to remind me when I should be exercising, I read articles that provided me with a list of healthy foods, I carried a picture

For my overall college education there are many goals I hope to achieve besides just a college degree. First off, I hope to have a great education and learning experience throughout college. I also would like to grow a reputation for myself that can help me in a positive way in the future. I hope to be more involved in leadership and throughout Iowa State University. At the end of my college education, I hope to have many opportunities for a career and my future.

One upside to being a neonatal nurse is it is less physical demanding. NICU nurses spend a lot of time at the bedside of an infant administering care or closely observing them in an incubator and less time lifting and transporting much larger adult patients. Another upside to being a NICU nurse is that this career has a great job outlook and increases more and more every year,NICU nursing will always have a job available. There is also always opportunities for job advancements with more schooling. And do not forget the babies! Even though NICU nurses are taking care of these infants on difficult conditions it makes the infants that survive and leave happy and healthy even more special . Nurses get to feel the satisfaction every single day that they are helping to save a small little babies life, and that can be one of the greatest feelings in the world. On the downside, working in the NICU is very overwhelming and stressful knowing that a small infant's life is on your hands . Neonatal nursing is also very emotionally stressful. Everyday an infant that you thought was doing bettering and was perfectly stable could suddenly collapse. Theses nurses also have to deal with parents and family members that are also very stressed out and worried about their child and that can become very emotionally draining as

A goal is a target you want to achieve in your life. They are important for many reasons. The purpose of a goal is to motivate yourself and it gives you directions and keeps you forward. Having goals in your life gives a clarity on your end vision, and allows you to focus . The goals help you achieve your highest potential.They make you stretch beyond your normal self and reach new heights. Also if the goal doesn’t challenge you, it won’t be able to change you.

Goals are something everyone should have in life it gives people motivation to work towards. It allows you to acquire many good character traits such as determination, responsibility, and accountability. Goals for me display something you want in life and helps you guide your path on how to achieve it. Without goals what would I be working towards in life? Goals provide an incentive when you are finally able to follow through with them and successfully achieved them. Goals allow you to have a sense of pride once they are completed. My goals that I set as SMART goals are for both in the near future and some are within 5 years. These goals are to help me achieve my life’s goals these are not only academic but professional, personal and health wise as well.

Being able to achieve a goal is an amazing feeling. Achieving a goal feels like you are on top of the world, like nothing can touch you. However, with most goals there is a challenging road ahead to reaching the goal. For example, education goals are very important, these types of goals can keep a person on track. I like to set a academic goal every year, for instance, maintaining a certain GPA through the entire year. For others it maybe turning in all assignments, or being on time to every class. These are examples of small education goals. My big education goal is to go to college, because I know by going to college I can have a better opportunity for a great future. Getting the best possible knowledge of the world is very important to me.

Scholarships are more than just an amount of money; they are are steps to help reach your goal. If I was awarded this scholarship, it would put me one step close to paying for my college education and my goal to help people. My personal goal for when I get out of college is to work for the agricultural sector of the government and to be involved in politics. I have a dream of one day being in the position where I can develop an organization that would teach inner city families how to produce food on their own. I would teach them the basic concept of urban agriculture, which is growing produce in a heavily populated town or municipality. My goal would be for them to realize that they do not need to rely on government handouts to survive; they

Throughout the rollercoaster of a ride the past two years have been, I have been involved in a numerous amounts of extracurricular activities ranging from volunteering, babysitting, and of course, athletics. Most notably have been my contributions via athletics. Besides being a member of the varsity football team my sophomore to senior year (while being a captain my senior year) and a member of the varsity track team my senior year, being in these sports has given me many opportunities to give back to my community. Football players are not known to be the brightest of the bunch and often times, need an extra hand in academics. During my sophomore and junior year, I tutored a few of my fellow teammates to insure they got their G.P.A up and was able to compete on friday nights. In track, I did many fundraisers and similar dog sitting friends and family. Many of my peers view second semester of senior year as a burden that they must endure before they can finally graduate and never step foot in high school again. Although I am eager to graduate and pursue the next chapter of my life as a college student next fall, I hope to take advantage of my final semester of high school. For most of my four years, I have done the requirements for my classes, but not gone beyond them to pursue topics I found interesting or was passionate about. I also have not taken the time to pursue personal goals I have set for myself because I was lacking the motivation to complete them. Through the project I have designed for myself, I hope to pursue the academic passions that I have pushed to the side during high school,

After class this topic made me rethink about a lot of my personal goals I wish to achieve and the way I look at them. To start with I relooked at the views I had on most of my goals and they were mostly finite and it should be infinite. Therefore leaving me to need to change these views that can help me in my personal and business life.

Having recently taken some time out to pursue some personal goals, I am now looking for a role where I can take on new challenges.

Goals are needed and important because they help keep you on track so you get your things done. Goals help you focus, like a microscope, to see the smaller, more detailed purpose. If you see the smaller more detailed purpose, then you can understand what you need to make your goal. Goals are also important because they help you look into your life and uncover your tasks.

My personal goal as a student at the University of Phoenix is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management within the next two years. This goal is very important to me because of the impact it will have on my family, work and personal life. In my family it will set a positive example for my daughters, grandchildren, and youngest sister. My family has been a source of support throughout my years in college as I have pursued this degree while maintaining a full time job. Obtaining the degree will be an accomplishment not only for me but also for my family who has given me the encouragement to reach my goal. I would like for my grandchildren to remember their grandmother as a strong and educated woman.

As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.

Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.
