Dr. Martin Luther King Junior once stated, “I have a dream…” Each and every one of us can discover that we all have our own dream. Our dream can reflect our career, personal, and academic goals. When our dream can fulfill each one of these goals, we can define it as our purpose. My purpose can be very confusing, and contorts to certain situations. In the past week, I have thought about my true meaning in this world. I believe my purpose is to teach others and make a difference through influencing other’s lives. My life’s goal is to teach the uneducated especially pointed towards the little ones. I want to educate those from the ages of eight months to eight or nine years. Influencing people’s lives can make the difference from a bleak world full of hatred and dismay to a world full of love and charity towards one another. I hope I can influence just enough of the right people to learn to accept others how they are presented to us. Personal goals of mine include teaching children, making a difference by influencing, and starting a family of my own. My academic goals for college include graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Also, I want to maintain a grade point average of three-point-seven or higher. The career in education can be quite vigorous and I owe it to my future students to attain the best, most competent education I can receive to be able to teach them well. My career goal is to teach in a Kindergarten classroom working with special needs
My educational goals were to get a certificate in Health Information Technology as a certified coder. But I change my mind and decided to get my associates degree because it provides me with more opportunities in the field. I can choose many different careers such as health information analyst, insurance claims analyst, records technician specialist, etc. With this degree I can improve my family financial situation and be an example to my children that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything.
Being a college student is not all about gaining from each endeavor encountered. There are gains and loses simultaneously. As a student develops in his or her academic career, the student eventually learns that priorities have to be put in place. Being a well-rounded individual can be very difficult as a STEM student. For this reason, my personal academic goal is to be a well-rounded student and individual. A well-rounded student can be defined as a student with a minimum of 3.7 GPA with a role in at least one extracurricular activity. To achieve my goal in becoming a well-rounded individual, I would like to develop, to the best of my ability, excellent study habits, soft-skills and self-discipline in all areas of my life. I strive to attain this personal academic goal.
For my educational plans, I have a clear understanding and vision of where I want to go and who I have the desire to be. I believe Indian River State is an excellent place to begin my journey and recieve my education in order to better prepair myself for what is yet to come. After I recieve my Associates degree from Indian River, I plan to transfer to the University of South Florida in order to extend my education and potentially recieve my Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Nursing.
An experience in a biomedical research will help me to succeed in my long-term educational goals. My long-term goal is to attend a MD-PHD program at a Medical School. As a scientist, I would like to study the genetics of disease causing organisms and human genetics. Currently, I am studying Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, which I think will equip me with a knowledge of human biochemistry. However, since undergraduate schools mainly focus on theoretical not the practical application of most subjects, I need to participate in a hands on research project over the summer because It will give me an opportunity to apply my knowledge in a laboratory. This is when the summer research program at the University of Maryland school of medicine
Life is a continual learning process, which requires a strong method to develop better ways of apprenticeship. Personally, being able to obtain a higher education gives me an opportunity to be better in many ways. Everyone should have any personal goals in life in order to survive, prosper and succeed in every journey that life gives. As for me, being a University of Phoenix student, I hope to achieve all of my goals on which I have been trying to pursue and obtain through the years. They are goals that I believe I need to have to be a successful member of the society, and through attending the university I also hope to gain a more positive image of myself, build my personal growth, along with achieving
A long term educational goal for me was going back to school after 4 years and a second child. I kept putting it off for months and months .I was extremely intimidated due to the fact that I had two kids to support and; I would only be able to work part time. Finally I had to drive to greenwood to see the dermatologist and I said that would be the day I go to Kaplan. To make sure I reached my goal I started by cutting down my work hours and keeping in touch with my advisor. My goals were achieved after a month and I was proud it made me feel like I could achieve anything as long as I put my mind to it.
My short term goals in education are to maintain my high cumulative GPA and complete all of my general education classes, so I can graduate from community college with honors, in spring of 2016. Career wise, I want to complete my low division classes and prerequisites to be able to transfer to a university in the next year, where I can pursue my bachelor's degree in computer engineering. My short term goals for service/volunteerism is to continue participating in school clubs at Mesa college where I participate in the majority of their service events. I also want to continue my leadership position as President in Phi Theta Kappa and serve the Honors club and any other school club with anything I am capable of.
I am originally from Shreveport Louisiana, my family moved to Texas in my late teens and lived in Longview until enlisting into the United States Marine Corps as a Flight Mechanic on the KC-130T. I currently work as the Assistant Superintendent at Gavilon Grain in Saginaw Texas where we service the local flour mills. As a six-year veteran of the US Army, I have taught and instructed people from multi-cultural backgrounds, vastly different education levels, and without regard to age all while traversing language barriers, cultural, and social norms, with great success. In my pursuit to continuously better myself, I have dedicated my educational goals to understanding what motivates people in the dynamic environments they find themselves. As well, my graduate thesis, titled “The Ethical Choice: Who Should Decide the Fate of Youth Sexual Assault Victims Who Become Pregnant?” gave me an impeccable foundation in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
I am pursuing college education because I know it is the way to have a comfortable life in the future. I learned, in the world we live in today we need education. I am grateful to have fee waiver and I will not take it for granted because without it I don’t think I’ll be able to pay my tuition by myself. But if necessary I would work full time and be a part time student just to be able to achieve education.
It 's funny how things happen, because this topic was also covered at the end of the day in debrief, but the goal I set out for myself this morning was to get better at working on a task and continue working on it even when the client is talking. I often find myself pausing in the middle of care when the client starts speaking. This habit may arise out of respect and my not wanting the client to think I am disinterested in what they are trying to communicate to me. However, this can be a time consuming practice which is why I 'd like to shake this habit before I begin my own practice after graduation.
My personal goal is that I stop eating fast food so often and start eating healthier foods. Every other week I stop to eat fast food either after school or after work, I usually am too tired to make food that is actually good for you so I just go stop at either Burger King or McDonalds.
Everyone should have personal goals that evolve around anything that needs to be accomplished. I set goals on a daily basis. One goal that I seem to have not truly focused on has been my college education. Considering all things, I decided I needed to focus on my college education. The first thing I needed to accomplish was to enroll in an institution for higher learning. Now that my enrollment is complete, I am an official student at the University enrolled in the undergraduate program for business management. As a student at the university, I now have to set personal goals so that I will be successful in my endeavors. My personal goals are to gain personal growth and development and graduate from my undergraduate program in business
"A goal without a plan is just a wish" - Unknown. There are many days where one can feel the need to give up, but if you give up nobody can see you accomplish the things that you set your mind upon. Goals are not something you just say to pass the time they are meant to be a lifetime. They are meant to help you through life and become something everyone said you couldn’t be. Being able to prove who you are or who you want to be in the world should be a goal for everyone.
Mahatma Gandhi once said “The future depends on what you do today.” Which can be interpreted as, whatever happens to you now will affect you later. This is why I am setting goals now for my future. The goals that I set now, which are to spend more time with my family, avoid stress, and break the all-time scoring average in golf, are intended to improve my life in the future.
