Personal and Professional Characteristics
Ronelle Stevens A goal is something that an individual aims to achieve in his or her lifetime. I have many personal goals for my life, both short-term and long-term. Most of my personal goals are lifetime goals such as staying happy and healthy, maintaining a close relationship with God, and striving to be the best role-model that I can be for others. In the next two years, I hope to get married and continue building on to the house that I own with my boyfriend. I aim to start a family of my own in the next five years after I have a steady career in nursing. My professional nursing goals are ample. My main goal in becoming a nurse is to make a difference in the lives of others. I aim to help patient

A strength that I feel as though I hold is that I do set very high goals for myself which makes me push myself to accomplish whatever I set my mind to. This strength will help me in the nursing field in that I will always devote myself to caring for others, which is the biggest goal that I have in life. Lastly, I enjoy listening to others and developing relationships with others which I believe is definitely a strength in the nursing field. Nursing is centered on communication and my language skills will benefit both my patients and myself in the …show more content…
How stress is managed differs individually. As I previously mentioned, I have had many stressful situations occur in my lifetime. However, I feel as though the most stressful time in my life occurred in the previous year. Last year I worked two jobs while taking classes full-time at two separate colleges. I was taking my regular classes at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln while also picking up classes at Southeast Community College to try to finish my coursework before applying to nursing school. I found myself constantly working or driving between schools. To get through this stressful situation, I made a tight schedule that I had to adhere to for the semester. I relied heavily on my family and friends for support and I pushed through the semester. I learned to think through the stress by finishing one task at a time. Overall, I feel as though stressful times such as this help me to develop time-management skills which will benefit me in my nursing

Goals we all have them big or small, we each have something we want to accomplish, but the big question always is, how do we accomplish it. Well for me, I have goals in life daily and longer term. Daily goals would be like finish psychology paper or make it to the gym sometime today. My more long terms goals relate specifically to my college degree, such as complete college in four years, get into a good
One goal that I have is to find and learn from a mentor that will teach me so that I can do my job to the best of my
In my future endeavors, I would like to pursue a master’s degree in nursing as an education specialist. This specialty of nursing is something that has always intrigued me and after working within the hospital setting I know this is where I aspire to be. I believe helping current and future nurses expand upon their knowledge would be very fulfilling for me.
Everyone has aspirations, some tend to be more steadfast, others last only a short amount of time. A goal is something we aim for, something that we try our best to keep a firm grip on.
The professional goal that I have set for myself to achieve is to be the Head of Sports Medicine in college, which is similar to an administrative job. My primary purpose after years of studying in a major university is to become an athletic trainer at a Community College, where I will have both the option to teach and also to be an assistant Athletic Director. I had graduated from a Community College in New Jersey. Athletic training staff have a lot of influence and help every athlete to transfer and continue their education and their sport if the athlete wishes to do so. The head athletic trainer, Lisa, had helped every student-athlete achieve their goal to continue playing or go to college for an excellent education program. My professional
I will achieve my dream of becoming a registered nurse with the skills attained from work, the support of my loving husband and children, and the dedication I have to success. I understand that I have to have a healthy work, school and home life balance. With the organizational and time management skills I will be able to ensure that scheduling life is not complicated while allowing room for the unknown. I have to remain focused on planned goals and constantly work to achieve them. With these key traits in
A one goal that I have set for myself is to keep moving forward into my careers. By moving more into a career will help me achieve better financial issues, less depression, better opportunities, better choices, and a better attitude toward life. Another goal
My first Nursing Career goal is to complete my education here at St. Francis College to obtain my Bachelors of Science in Nursing and to pass my NCLEX exam. After passing the NCLEX I would like to work as a Registered Nurse in a hospital in or around New York City. While working as a Registered Nurse I would like to gain experience in the field to finally decide what aspect of Nursing I would like to specialize in. My overall goal right now, is to work as an RN and to go back to school to become a Nurse Anesthetist. Within my career my goals are to do my job to the best of my ability. I want to help as many patients as I possibly can and make their experience in the hospital the best it can be.
My primary professional and personal goal is to remain organized and not stressed even under pressure or during unforeseen setbacks
The main goals I have for myself are to become a well-rounded, intelligent, and focused nurse. I want to know all about nursing and how I can help everyone I can. I come from a long line of strong women who were nurses. Nursing is in my blood and I want to carry the legacy on. As a nurse, I want to be able to touch as many lives as possible. As for my education, I want to continue on for the rest of my life, therefore I will never stop learning new medical procedures and practices for the future. I want to be able to be educated in all ways of nursing so it opens my opportunities to help more people. There are many people in the world that need my help and if I can touch hundreds of them I know that in my heart I did the right thing. Not only
Goals are future plans and intentions of an individual. They are a fantastic motivational tool, not to mention that they give our lives a deeper sense of purpose. Striving for them and working hard to achieve them can give a roadmap to our actions, and by rearranging our existences around our ambitions, we run a lower risk of wandering off the metaphorical path or letting our short lives on this Earth end without completing all that we wanted to do. Modern civilization is set apart from long gone generations in this sense. While our ancestors were limited to hunting, gathering, and simply keeping the human race alive, the people of recent times are able to rely on those things to be done, and can instead focus on making their dreams a reality. I, too, have a set of goals for my own future.
I am a born leader. Even when I am not looking for leadership opportunities they always seem to fall into my lap. My life has been one that is based on service to others, so I regularly volunteer for committees and extend myself to help others. It is important to me to be the best teacher I can, I regularly attend professional development sessions and implement my new learning in the classroom. However, upon starting the Teacher Leadership Master’s program at Lamar University, I was just beginning my career as a teacher leader. I had not had many opportunities to show leadership outside of my grade-level team. During team planning meetings, I normally directed the discussions. My coworkers looked to me for guidance and interpretation of the curriculum. I regularly made suggestions about teaching strategies. Additionally, I was a member of various campus committees including the Campus Performance Objective Committee (CPOC) where worked together with campus administrators and community partners to develop the Campus Improvement Plan. However, I did not view these tasks as leadership opportunities.
Choosing a career in medicine is my first career choice, and in many ways it is the only career choice I want. From professional athletes that we see on television, to the educators that have taught me and many others through the years, they all have committed themselves to extensive study. They have practiced countless of hours to master their individual skill set for their profession. I see myself following in the same footsteps, but as a pediatrician. I want to also master the skills that it takes to be a great doctor. It may not be simple and the outcome may not be near, but with extensive studying and practice I want to achieve and master the set of skills of pediatric diagnosis and eventually improve the medical process. This is my
Currently, there are many types of goals I have for myself that are important to my career. Of the first, I want to stay here at University of Saint Francis and get my Bachelors in Science of Nursing. I’ve transferred to and from many colleges since being out of high school and I think I’ve finally found my home at USF. This degree would help me obtain a job that is something I enjoy doing rather than something I’m forced to do. Secondly, I would love to be on the Dean’s List every semester. I’m not quite sure how this fits in with my career other than it would be something I can say I did while getting my degree. Lastly, I plan on sticking with my job at the nursing home in hopes that someday I can use that as resume builder and gain extra knowledge in things I wouldn’t normally be able to access in a classroom. Who knows, this might lead to further advancement and even promotion!
