The areas of research I am interested in are Learning Outcomes and Culture/Organization Behavior. More specifically, the education of professionals in the medical setting. The current trend in healthcare is to require all professionals to have a formal education. In the past, administration and the medical staff were seperated. In the field, we now see the medical staff with the responsibility of administrative duties as well as their regular responsibilities. I am interested in investigating how education at the college level can be integrated into the current work force as well as how current students can benefit from adding in new curriculum to better prepare them for the current working conditions. At the completion of my program I would like to be able to provide my organizations both medical and at the community college, evidence based solutions for career development to the current professionals and to create new programs which will allow for specialized training in areas such as billing and coding, insurance and the proper documenation required now from all medical professionals.
