Healthcare and healthcare planning are vital in today’s ever-changing world, without education and experience one cannot help patients or make policy changes that benefit all stakeholders. In addition, many people do not understand the ever-changing medical policies and treatment options that are available. Therefore, I am compelled to use my knowledge and education to coordinate healthcare needs of the people in my community. Whether this is managing outpatient care, inpatient care needs or healthcare resources. Therefore, the Marylhurst Healthcare MBA program and all three concentrations will enable me to obtain the skills I need to succeed.

The school provides professors who have real life experience in the healthcare industry so that students can not only learn what the textbook teaches, but also how to deal with real life situations that people have gone through. At SNHU, I have acquired a lot of skills that allowed me to complete my capstone project. I have learned many concepts that help me to successfully finish with my entire program. To prepare such a capstone project, it is indispensable to have some skills and knowledge. I received that knowledge from the course I had at SNHU. I got the project management skills. I now have knowledge of the healthcare informatics. My communication skills have been ameliorated. Since the project is about the healthcare system, I used my knowledge of healthcare studies to prepare my report. Those studies included, but not limited to: Health Policy and Financing; Leadership in Clinical Microsystems; Global Health and Diversity; and Health Policy, Law, Ethics and Regulations. In Addition to that knowledge, the marketing skills have been helpful for preparing the report. In sum; the courses I took at SNHU have considerably helped me to appropriately prepare the capstone project.

The Associates of Applied Science degree in Medical Office Management will give me the chance to work in Medical Offices Administration, this will give me the experience I need to work with software that I will need to progress in and to work my way up. Working in the medical field is having the ability to maintain and keep track of every task you are assign to. The current trend in healthcare is to require all professionals to have a formal education. In the past, administration and the medical staff were seperated. In the field, we now see the medical staff with the responsibility of administrative duties as well as their regular responsibilities. I am interested in investigating how education at the college level can be integrated into the current work force as well as how current students can benefit from adding in new curriculum to better prepare them for the current working conditions. During my degree I have been based at Barnet and Chase farm Hospitals for my clinical placement and for my elective placement I was at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore. I believe that the time I spent on placement helped me develop my skills profoundly and also allowed me to experience different situations I would not have come across normally.
