When we lived in Chicago, we settled in with my dad’s side of the family. His older sister, Ana was married to my uncle Rigoberto or “Beto” for short. They had 4 kids, Ana Elisa, Liliana, Araceli and the youngest, Rigoberto Jr.. We would always get together and have cookouts every other weekend. My cousins, along with my brother and I, would play games and share jokes. As time went by my family had decided to move to Texas in 2004, we were leaving my aunt and her family. It was a sudden transition for both my brother and I. New school, new people, and a new environment. We missed living in Chicago, including my parents. Since we had moved in south of Austin there was nothing but open fields and agricultural roads, it took us about a year to get used to our new home. Over time we had gotten more acquainted with a few of our neighbors here. My dad was trying to convince my aunt Ana to move down here with us because of the peaceful and quiet environment; especially since it was closer to travel to Mexico. Finally, after three years of detailed things about our new place through phone calls between my family and aunt, they decided to move to here with us. At first I was happy that they

Sunshine was pouring out from in between the buildings, casting shadows all around Ponyboy and the gang as they walked to Pony’s school. They were taking their time walking down the streets and for the first time they all were really seeing what was all around them. Memories were surfacing in their minds showing them what it all meant to them. With every step they took on the sidewalk they remembered a different memory as if they were walking down memory lane. Ponyboy didn’t think it was possible for him to be walking down this street for the last time as a high school student, but he had gone through the years with great grades that earned him many scholarships.

As I walk into my new class I spot my friends that I’ve had since Sixth Grade we’d been through a lot the year before, and created a bond so robust that it was put asunder. From that instant the situation fluttered into a butterfly effect. We slowly began to go in our separate directions, Miss Better at Everything drifted towards the cool kids, Mister Comedian and Mister Pastor’s Son stuck together,

It was a fine, summer, Saturday when everything changed for a young teenager named Miller Frederick. School had already started for Miller and he was at a new school. That summer, his family had moved from Pensacola, Florida to Dewitt, Michigan so Miller didn’t have many friends. He lived in a very rural area so he didn’t have many neighbors he could hang out with. Miller had just gotten back from his first day at his new school and he became friends with another new kid from Germany. His name was Reginald Kleinhans. Surprisingly enough, they had a lot in common. They both loved basketball, horror movies, and writing.

It is Melinda’s first day in high school and she has no friends. She gets on the bus and she sits down by herself. When she gets to school there is an assembly. She goes in the gym and sits on the bleachers.

His troubles occur however when he receives a D in his English class, which is a failing grade at Harrison High School. This prevents him from being able to try out for the track team, and he blames it on his English teacher, Miss Narwin. Girls perch on the tables like exotic birds gossiping and giggling, a football fly’s above their heads between two jocks in varsity jackets parading their toned muscles. Groups of high schoolers sit around the room laughing. Weekend has arrived and the hallways of the school were filled with tons of kids ready to go home. Every ear filled with the sound of multiple conversations going off at once, lockers opening and closing, music blasting without. I had managed to push past the constant stream of children and to the school field. The grass was damp and covered in a thin layer of frost. As I walked my footprints were embedded, leaving a piece of me in the cold ground. I saw my friends faraway chattering and fooling around. I was stuck in the wrong crowd; they are nothing like me but somehow I am still friends with them. I slowly made my way up to my “so called friends”.

“What’s wrong mama?” he asked. He had an inkling that something was eating away at his godmother. She was jittery and spooked which was unlike the usual warm and carefree Nessa that he’d been knowing for nearly two decades. On top of that, she still hadn’t been forthcoming about the terrible injury to her leg nor the riot that she had initiated at the graduation.

She was devastated. Her Mama was sick, and she was going to die if they didn’t get a doctor. Elaine was so busy crying that she did not notice when Michael Butler walked in. He walked over towards her, and asked her what was wrong. Elaine didn’t really mean to tell Michael, but all the words just poured out; Losing the field, her Mama getting sick and that they couldn’t afford a doctor to help her Mama. Michael felt so bad for Elaine, and he wanted to help her. But how? Even his family was running low on money. Then an idea struck him. His Papa could take care of Elaine’s Mama! Michael wasn’t sure if his Papa would do it, but he could at least try. After school that day Michael went home to talk to his Papa. He explained the situation to him, and at first Papa did not want to go. “They obviously can’t pay me to take care of Elaine’s mother, what would I get out of it?” said Michael’s Papa. Eventually, Michael persuaded his Papa to do it, “Can’t you imagine how sad it would be if Elaine’s Mama died?” he

It was an ordinary day in new york, People going to work, birds chirping to indicate that fall had just sprung. A normal tuesday, the sun rising, another ordinary school day at central queens junior high, but not for Robert. Robert had snuck out of school, and he had found out that a couple of his friends were sick. He invited them over and one of his best friends, Alex came over. Robert and Alex played down at the park where they had met up with one of Alex’s friends, Jacob. He protected and helped me even though we were only eight months apart. I had so many mixed emotions and I questioned myself can I really date Henry. Its like saying can I date my brothers best friend. As the school session was coming to an end I decided to distance myself away from

The summer before entering freshman, my cousins from Mexico came to visit. I met them for the first time since I was four years old. They stayed for a few months and I ended up getting along will all of them, but became great friends with my cousin Alejandro. He was two years older than me, and he gave me advice for when I entered high school, which had been in a few weeks. My cousins and the whole extended family started hanging out. In a way, our cousins coming to visit was really good because it forced the whole family to spend time together.

     Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors’ cars. Tony and I walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all ears. I couldn’t help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium doors.
