Post Graduation Plans

My personal goal for the upcoming year is to become more involved on campus and in the community. My freshman year I volunteered at the Royerton after school program and this made me realize how much I enjoy working with children and helping them in any way that I can.

However, there are many more jobs available with greater pay and salary with a bachelor’s degree. Most jobs in this pathway involve excessive training to become sufficient at the job. I am planning to get my associate’s degree at Tri-County Community College. As long as I stick with my classes and full-time student schedule, I am aiming on to haveing my associate’s degree in two years. Once I have received my associatesassociate’s degree, I plan on going on to a university to continue with my education and earn my bachelor’s degree. I have not decided for sure exactly where I would like to go to earn my bachelor’s degree;, however, I will be deciding and giving it much thought over the next two years. My top choices for right now include Western Carolina University and Piedmont College. I also have have also found after some research that a Bbachelor’s Business degree i n business can also be earned online;, therefore, I may be taking a look at the an online program as well. Research shows that even going in for an “entry-level job,”—you one still needs to earn an advanced degree to be prepared for jobs higher up in the corporation. Pursuing a post-secondary education is very important because without that extra education you will not be able to get as good of a career as you would with a post-secondary education. With that extra education you have more opportunities of higher paying jobs and healthcare coverage. Also when students go to college they have a chance to listen to the Professors lecture on their personal field of study, so they know what they are talking about. With a college degree you are also open to more promotion opportunities. Also when you go into the college life it is a time where you get a big taste of the real world, you start to be independent, learn to save money and pay bills.

Senior year, the best time of our lives and the last step in this chapter of our lives. This is the time when we have to buckle down and finalize our future, but in reality, it is not. Although we may plan what we want for the future, the things we want are not always the things we need. All we can do is work hard to achieve our goals and meet the standards we have set for ourselves in order to achieve as many of these plans as possible.

Lack of proper career planning is attributed to poor performance of graduates. Moreover, lack of on-the-job training lead to poorly trained graduates who lack expertise to deliver in the expected industry. Therefore, a university graduate is expected to earn a degree that should translate to higher work opportunities and pay. For example, the rates of salaries range from $55,000 among engineering majors compared to 30,000 per year for majors in arts, education, and psychology.

To start I plan on going to post secondary school after high school to get my bachelors degree. I plan on majoring in finance and then becoming a CPA. Though I have another year and a half before I complete my schooling, it is always important to find out as much information about my future field of work. Knowing what is to be expected when going in for a job interview will not only be a bonus for myself, but allow me to feel confident when giving answers.

The first on my list of goals during senior year is to keep my grades high. Studying is not something I love to do but to achieve my goals it has to be done. I have to push myself to the best of my ability and do the best that I can do on all of my school work.. I believe that hard work pays off in the end, and my hard work will definitely pay off at the end of this school year. Another way to keep my grades high is to ask my teachers for help. In this personal statement I will address my plans and aspirations for completing a graduate education. I believe that an adequate college education is a necessity in today’s society. There are numerous resources and opportunities available to those who choose to seek a college education. I am committed to continuing my education to achieve my career goal of becoming a family nurse practitioner. Several members of my family are in the healthcare field, as both doctors and nurses. I have had the privilege of growing up observing and learning about the field from a private practice perspective. From this, I developed my interest in the healthcare field and decided that I wanted to become a part of the healthcare field. I want to be able to make a difference in the world and in people’s lives. I have often heard about there being a nursing shortage and the need for more practicing nurses and advance practicing nurses. After researching and evaluating the different roles and job opportunities in healthcare, I determined that nursing is the specific area that is the best fit for me. By pursing my career goal to become a family nurse practitioner, I could make a difference in the world and people’s lives as well as help fill the need for nurses.

I will remain a student regardless if it's only part-time to continue my classes. As of right now I am seeking employment with a company that has growth potential, good benefits, and an excellent retirement plan. It would be terrific to find a company that will help me to enhance my business skills while I'm attending DeVry University obtaining my Bachelor's degree.

I have successfully earned a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from SUNY, University at Buffalo in September 2013, which opened avenues for me and led me to my first full-time job. Since graduation, I’ve been on a ceaseless path of learning from working as a Quality Engineer for a small manufacturing company called HDM Hydraulics to where I am now as an R&D Quality Engineer for New Product Development at Medtronic. My academic pursuits continued even after starting
