Also, I will examine the Chinese, Indian and Turkish cultures represented in my group. In order to describe these cultures, appropriate cross-cultural models will be followed. Leadership plays an important role to make the subordinates work as a single unit. The five major types of management styles are autocratic, paternalistic, democratic, laissez-faire, and management by walking around (MSG, 2015). Autocratic style is not taking into consideration the ideas of others. The subordinates do not have a say in what they do and rely on their bosses to make decisions and tell them what to do. Usually this type of leader do not accept anyone’s input but their own and then problems start to occur where the team begins to think the leader is demanding, egotistical, or just plain out bossy. Using the authoritarian style doesn’t make leaders bossy but only using this style does. For authoritarian to work well it requires understanding, abiding, and hard working individuals. This style would not work for members who want their voice heard. The employee must be able to trust their employer and put all faith into them.
