Soils:
Qatar being a desert environment, most people think that it is not possible to grow plants there. This is not the case. There are 5 different soil types to consider throughout Qatar:
● Rawdha soils: these soils have a small amount of organic matter, low water retention properties and poor structural properties. Also, rawdha soils give rise to surface crusting which interferes with the plant-air-water relationship and inhibits the emergence of seedlings.
● sabhka soils: are soils that are made of sand.. Most of that sand in these soils is driven by wind, which makes it structurally unstable and unsafe for travelers.
● Lithosols: The most common soil in

They can be seen anywhere from urban areas to the middle of the desert. They are most common in urban areas due to the concentration of plant life there.
■ Papilio demoleuso: Shallowtail butterfly- usually more known as the lime or lemon butterfly because it is attracted to citrus plants. Viewed as a pest due the damage it does to citrus plants. ○ Honey Bee: A popular insect found in Qater. They use them for their honey production as honey is a staple in the breakfast foods that they eat.
● Reptiles: There are many different reptiles present in qatar. There are various different lizard species that are found both in the deset and urban environments.
○ Heavy Bodied Lizard-dhubor dhabor- Harmless vegetarian, need to drink little to no water to survive. They are considered a delicacy by the badu, which most of the is being in the spiny tail.
○ Gecko: The gecko is the most common lizard that is found in urban environments. This is due to them being able to find a more substantial source of food.
Vegetation:
Although vegetation is difficult to grow in the desert, there are plants that can survive there. During the winter months, there are a lot of dormant plants that appear particularly when there has been a sufficient amount of rainfall. There are 6 different plant communities that have been recognized in Qatar.
● Plant Communities
○ Coastal- contains mostly halophytes: plants that
Do to the cold climate most plants are tiny ground cover plants, which grow and reproduce with not a lot of haste. They shield themselves from the cold and wind by hugging close to the ground. Some of
Soil is the basis for the natural ecosystems and a living thing, it sustains life on Earth and works as a natural recycling facility with nutrients to the plants. However, many people do not know about the good benefits that soil gives to our lives and how humans hurt the conditions of soil with chemicals. Soil is often times mistreated due to the misconception of soil as dirt. Nevertheless, Professor Asmeret Berhe highlighted during the lecture, Soil, that soil is a place of full of life that supports living thing. The living organism depends on the conditions of soil because soil delivers nutrients to plants. For instance, improving the conditions of the soil increases the harvest of crops. Unhealthy soil will not be able to do its job as a natural recycling facility, and not be able to give a good amount of nutrients to plants to abundantly grow. Therefore, conditions of soil are very important in agriculture. Furthermore, having organic soils can conserve the amount of water used for irrigation. Soil is main supply of water to all land and plants because it holds the water for organisms. Organic soil can hold few amounts of water for a long time so it helps farmers to reduce the agricultural water consumption. Soil is very important to out lives than what we imagine and think. The global awareness of soil preservation is less significant to people than other conservation efforts like reducing the amount of plastic used, but soil preservation is very significant to our earth system. Therefore, it is very important for humans to help the Earth healthy sustain life by stop mistreating soil as dirt and treating it as a living thing that holds full of
The nile monitor shares the nile with crocodiles and other fish and stuff. These giant lizard are sold as pets to many people. When these lizards are in fear they have a viselike grip. This lizard can snap a cats neck instantly and swallow it whole.
In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia is the largest arid country (Al-Ibrahim, 1991). The country covers some 80 percent of the Arabian Peninsula (Al-Hamzi, 1992). The area of Saudi Arabia is 2.25 million square kilometers, equivalent (1.4) million square miles (Batayneh, 2012). The total number population in Saudi Arabia is 25.7 million (Al-Shayaa et al., 2012). Saudi Arabia climate is broiling in the summer and chilly in the winter, and Saudi Arabia does not have well-defined season. In addition, Saudi Arabia is waterless country, and it does not have rivers or lakes (Al-Shayaa et al., 2012).
The Santo Stefano Lizard, Podsrcis Sicula Sanctistephani, went extinct in 1965. The Santo Stefano Lizard lives on Santo Stefano Island and is also a Mediterranean type. The lizard likes being near a lot of water. The species ranged out to Italy, South Of Alphs, Sicily, Saradinia, and many other islands. The lizard has been introduced to a number of sites in the United States, Libya, And Tunisia (broom02.revolvy.com). The Santo Stefano Lizard lives on Santo Stefano which is a very small island near Ventotene and its off the west coast of Italy. A feral cat and snakes killed off most of the population.
These are soils consisting predominantly of unaltered mineral material that have no surface/sub-surface horizon attributed to soil forming processes (unless buried under a 730cm thick deposit from the Holocene) (Avery, 1980;). These soils do not normally have continuous vegetation cover (Avery, 1980). They occur in very recently formed soil and may have a superficial organic or organo-mineral layer less than 5cm thick. Sometimes they have a buried horizon below 30cm of depth. (Thompson, 2007; Jarvis, 1984).
For my report I will write about Pogona, otherwise referred to as the bearded dragon. These harmless reptiles are mostly found in Australia in ridged rocky regions. They enjoy climbing and can be found up on high rocks or on branches of trees. They are also typically found in dessert regions of Australia chilling on tree stumps and rocks. For pet dragon you will want a habitat that has a heat source on one side to keep it warm if needed and a small place to hide and climb on. They will also obviously need a shallow dish for food and water purposes.
Some examples of plants that are optimal for growing in the desert/drier climates may include:
The Texas horned lizard, Phrynosoma cornutum, is a species in the lizard family, Phrynosomatidae, which has ten genera and a diverse group of over 125 different species (Hammerson 2007; Cossel Jr. 1997). Lizards in this family can be found in Mexico, Panama, most areas of the United States and parts of Canada (Heying 2003). Phrynosomatids range in a variety of forms, but are most commonly distinguished by their small size (less than 10 cm long), rough and keeled scales, spikes on their bodies, and the fusion of the sides of their teeth to the sides of their inner jawbones, known as pleurodont teeth (Heying 2003). The thirteen species in the horned lizard genus, Phrynosoma, can be identified more specifically by their flattened bodies
In the Australian Outback they have many animals including crocodiles, kangaroos, hundreds of different kinds of reptiles, and many birds. Some of the birds are native and some of them are there because of migration. There are two different kinds of crocodiles
Geckos are a diverse and plentiful species of lizard that can range from no bigger than your thumb nail, to longer than a foot long. They are world wide natives, with species being found as far apart as Africa and South America and some even in Southern China and other Eastern Asian countries. The best part about geckos however, is that they are model reptiles and pets, as demonstrated by their ability to call and understand other geckos, amongst other things.
The E. coqui can be found in quite a few habitats throughout the Island. To include mountains, mesic broadleaf forests, tree holes, urban areas, rocks or trash, bromeliads, and under trunks. In order to reproduce the E. coqui does not need a bodies of water, they are most often found at altitudes, which in turn provided sufficient moisture. The E. coqui can be found in Puerto Rico any were from maximum of 1,200 m (3,900 ft) down to sea level.
They are ashy gray and are found to be acidic and low in nutrients and are of value for acid-loving crops. They are found in Florida and make up 3.5 percent of soils in the U.S.

Geckos, according to the Wikipedia are lizards living in warm climates and their size ranges from 0.62 to 23.6 inches. Their toes have an adaptation that allow them to adhere to most surfaces using their spatula-shaped setae on their footpads.
