Thank you for contacting me regarding Obamacare. I appreciate having the opportunity to respond. We now know that many of the claims President Obama made about his health care reform law have been proven false. People who liked their health care plans and their doctors have not always been able to keep them under Obamacare. The Obamacare website was badly designed, not secure, untested, and prone to frequent, random crashes. Insurance premiums have gone up for many; they certainly have not fallen by an average of $2,500 per family, as was claimed would happen under Obamacare. I have consistently voted to repeal or defund the Obamacare law and rescind the $1 trillion in new taxes and $1.8 trillion in new spending contained in it.
Health care has been a controversial topic of discussion for all Americans since it was put in effect many years ago. Currently the biggest debate of Healthcare up to date is Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, is a Health care Reform that is a governmental attempt to make basic health care easily obtainable. However, there are no benefits without cost in situations like this, and upon that are different viewpoints on the subject thus creating political debates discussing if it is ethically correct. The overall goal that Obamacare hopes to accomplish is that through specific changes through insurance companies, industry standards, and patient guarantees a healthier America will be produced. Obamacare has its ups and downs for both the generally agreeing democratic viewpoints and the opposing republican side. Both viewpoints have their own beliefs about how Health care works and Obamacare is somewhat in between on this. Most arguments on Obamacare deal with Medicaid being constitutional and if Obamacare truly reduces the total cost of health care for individuals and in the government.
Keeping Obama care in our country is a bad idea because the 15% of Americans who do not currently have coverage will have access to affordable health insurance through their State's health insurance and 15% is a small number to the rest of the nation. In this week's “The Week” House Republicans were struggling to rallying support for their proposal to replace affordable Care Act. As reported by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) predicted that the bill would cause the number of americans without health insurance to grow by 24 million by 2026. The American Health Care Act imposes tax penalties to those who don’t have insurance. President trump still continues to support the bill. The CBO led by a Republican appointed nominee estimated that
My first reason for supporting Obamacare is that there is now a variety of new consumer rights and protections for patients. Obamacare is the most munificent healthcare law in American history. Before Obamacare, patients could get taken advantage of by insurance companies. Insurance companies have two goals. Make money and keep money. Many companies are carnivorous trying to devour your money with many side plans. And when they get your money they keep it. If a child that had a condition like asthma or diabetes; insurance companies turned them down. Under the new healthcare law, no
Imagine if you were a doctor, owned your own practice, and your clientele were of a satisfying quantity due to the personal relationships that you shared with every one of them. What would you do if that quality of business was taken right out from under your feet due to the change in law? That is what Dr. Joel L. Strom talks about in “The Right Way to Repeal and Replace Obamacare,” as he explains what Obamacare has done to the health-care system in America, and what Republicans need to do to fix it through his eyes. When the Obamacare bill passed in 2010 and began in 2014, it was something that grew from what was originally rejected during the Clinton Administration in the mid to late 90’s. When the bill passed, it wasn’t due to Republican voters, but solely Democratic. Strom shows compassion towards the needs of his fellow Americans and concerns of his medical colleagues, but he is also a Republican which may show a little bias.
The Affordable Care Act is one of America’s many insurance plans to attempt to lower costs and provide a wider coverage for citizens all over the country. It is a widely controversial topic in America; especially within the past year. Although there are some people out there who support it, there are also those who base their campaigns on getting it repealed; Donald Trump is a prime example of this. When instituting this policy, Obama had very good intentions, but he was far from fulfilling his intended purpose. Today, the ACA has many flaws that affect Americans both as a whole and individually. Obamacare has raised costs for individuals, contributed even more money to America’s debt, is the complete opposite of what President Obama said it would be, it takes away civil liberties, and puts new standards on patients.
Since the early days of our nation, our founding fathers wanted change. At the peak of his campaign, Barack Obama promised the change the country had been longing for. He promised health care reform and new benefits, something that had been tried to achieve by numerous presidents after the signing of the New Deal by President Roosevelt. Obama promised change but not the type he wanted. His change came under the name of the Affordable Care Act, a bill that was filled with empty promises. The Affordable Care Act nicknamed “ObamaCare” was supposed to benefit all but instead of helping our nation's citizens, it burdened them. It burdened them with higher taxes, less hours of work, and higher costs for “affordable”
The affordable health care act has received its fair share of criticism as well. Opponents of the bill fell that the cost of this bill will be higher that before. People we be seen for more care and more sick people will be diagnosed with illnesses and they will be a constant visitor in medical facilities looking for care. Others argue the level of service provided. The main thing these critiques seem to point to is the cost and how effective is the bill finically. These things wont be determined or seen until this bill is riding in full effect in the years to come.
“ObamaCare contains many benefits, especially for low and middle income families and business” (“ObamaCare: Pros and Cons”). Many people have been having concerns on the cost of the insurance because it has raised in cost. There is a new law out there that President Barack Obama passed called ObamaCare. ObamaCare is also known to be The Affordable Care Act (ACA). The goal of this act was to make sure every American had health insurance by January 2014. ObamaCare went from being something good, to a controversial issue towards Americans. This topic is very debatable in positive and negative ways, it just all depends on how it effects someone. One of ObamaCare’s requirements were to have companies provide health insurance to people
Some people have issues with Obama Care because it is too expensive for some people to afford. “According to a recent article by US News, an average 27 year-old male will pay 235% more for health insurance
Obamacare has taken a back seat recently in the news to the everyday antics of the current presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Despite being out of the spotlight Obamacare has been wreaking havoc for some families especially Michelle Malkin a small business owner in Colorado. Malkin's article, Obama Lied. My Third Health Plan Just Died, starts out by going through a brief history of her families Health insurance. Basically, they were dropped by their health care company three times use in the past few years. Malkin then goes on to state that Obama had promised that "If you like your doctor you can keep them," and "No one will take them away no matter what." It seems that this was one big lie as this is happening to families across America. Due to The Affordable
After one of the most grueling presidential races in American history, the populous candidate Donald Trump has been elected by the American people as our next president. While campaigning, one of the first things that Trump vowed to accomplish in office was to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (donaldjtrump.com). Trump should have no trouble doing this with the support of both the Republican senate and the Republican House. The consequences of what exactly will be done is a constantly argued topic and the phrase “repeal and replace Obamacare” has become a sort of buzzword in the media.
Obamacare may be one of the most debatable topics at the moment ever since 2010. For those who are still confused on what Obamacare is and how it works is understandable and common amongst Americans. Obamacare is also known as the Affordable Care Act. It can be summed up as a law that ensures every American has access to health insurance that is affordable and within their budget. This is done by offering people discounts on government-sponsored health insurance plans, and by expanding the Medicaid assistance program so they include more people who can’t afford health care. In order for someone to qualify for Obamacare they must have an insurance plan that covers at least ten essential services that pertain
Three months since the inauguration of Mr. Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States of America, and three weeks after the President and the Republican Party severe failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care), this issue will definitely play a critical role in influencing the American public opinion in favor of the Democratic Party and may be a swing vote factor in the upcoming 2018 midterm elections.
One alternative to this policy proposal that may be more beneficial for the target population is to not change Obamacare at all, just leave it the way it is. If Obamacare has improved Americans lives for the better, then I think that we should not change the policy. Maybe it does need some improvements but if the Affordable Care Act has been successful, we should not change anything about it.
My feelings on Obamacare is, Obamacare is very much needed for people who cannot afford insurance or for people who cannot get insurance due to a pre-existing condition. I work a full time job and I am covered under my employers for health insurance, but what if I get laid off, my employers will offer me Cobra which is expensive and I know that I would not be able to afford it. Obamacare will give me the opportunity to buy health insurance at a rate that I can afford. I understand some people may not like Obamacare because of people will have to pay a penalty for not having health insurance or companies will have to pay more taxes to help with Obamacare, but unless you are the person who does not have insurance, no one would understand how
