Throughout time music has been constantly changing and evolving, eventually causing it form to what it is today. As time has gone on, different genres of music have been introduced and became popular such as Rock n Roll, Blues, EDM etc. However, regardless of the genre of music, they have all come together to modernize and serve the purpose of entertaining the audience. If I were to induct modern musical artists, due to their popularity and overall impact on society, into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame it would consist of: Dr. Dre, Drake, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. I personally believe Dr. Dre would be the first one on this list that would be inducted. Being eligible in 2017, Dr. Dre is more than qualified to enter the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
Rock ‘n’ Roll began and evolved around the late 1940’s and 1950’s time frame. There were many groups that participated in the creation and origin of Rock ‘n’ Roll, however the two primary groups were rhythm and blues and country music. “The origins of rock ‘n’ roll are often described in a way that could be represented by an algebraic formula: r&b + c&w = r&r” (Garofalo & Waksman, 2016, p. 56). While the formula is rather simplistic, it ignores the many groups of individuals, social and cultural influences that impacted the formation of Rock ‘n’ Roll. As Rolling Stone’s Robert Palmer (1990) noted:
Rock ‘n’ roll music has widely influenced music and society and continues to do so today. Rock ‘n’ roll emerged in the 1950’s a time where whites and blacks were heavily segregated. Rock and roll music not only changed the nation’s current musical norms, but indicated the joy of the emerging youth culture of the generation. It influenced artists whether black or white to come into the mainstream music. Famous artists still remembered today also influenced rock and roll. Those pioneers helped change the musical norms and the overall history of music. White rock ‘n’ rollers helped build a ladder for black artists to come into the scene. It was certain that rock ‘n’ roll made it possible for greater acceptance, appreciation and a wider
Loud, soothing, meaningful, and deep, rock music has many characteristics. These characteristics are ones that rock music fans appreciate. But, many people have different preferences of music, such as pop, rap, country, and other genres. Although there are several types of music, most modern music comes back to the foundation of rock and roll. Many artists have been influenced by the heart-wrenching power of rock music. Most people that enjoy rock music do not know how rock started. It is a genre that has evolved over the years.
When I first browsed through the different topics on which we were to write essays on, I was ecstatic when I saw one about rock and roll. Once I started skimming through all the bands and artists I know and love, I knew there would be no problem writing this essay. I firmly believe that I was born in the wrong generation of music because I am a hardcore oldies junkie at heart. For this reason, the bands I have selected are as follows: The Beastie Boys, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, and The Righteous Brothers.
When the majority of the population thinks of rock 'n ' roll, most tend to correlate the beginnings of the rock genre with Elvis Presley or The Beatles. However, the greater part of the start of rock 'n ' roll must be attributed to the influence of African American culture and music. The African American culture initiated and impacted so many of the first genres in music that stemmed off into be many of the genres we still listen to today. Due to racism and discrimination many “race” artists were not recognized for their artistic abilities. Most African American musicians have become discredited due to white musicians covering African American songs and making it more popular. Rock ‘n’ roll was a collective effort of white and black culture and musicians but little credit has gone to the African American side of the genre. To truly understand how “race” artists were the people to help mold rock ‘n’ roll, you must go back to the very beginning of the start of the music business.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees the best rock and roll artists ever, but they forgot the Doobie Brothers. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should induct the Doobie Brothers. The Doobie Brothers formed in San Jose, California in 1970. Patrick Simmons, John McFee, and Tom Johnston are the current band members. They are one of the few bands who successfully alternated their genre of music. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should induct the Doobie Brothers.
Jerry Lee Lewis deserves to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame because he introduced the piano to the Rock & Roll scene. The piano had not been popular in Rock & Roll at the time and was mainly used in churches for gospel music. Jerry Lewis played for his church and started to add his own style into the gospel music. This started his career in the business when he went to go record his first song in one take. He showed the people that the guitar was not the only instrument that could produce Rock & Roll and he created his own style of playing.
Music is an Art form that has been around since humans were created All around the world music is played in many different forms and styles. As early as the 1950 's, a new style of music was being created in the Untied States, one that forever changed the world. Not only did it bring a completely different sound, but it changed the way people acted, dressed, and even people 's lifestyles. This new style of music became known as Rock and Roll. It drew many from a one-way path to a sea of possibilities musically. Me being a music lover really enjoyed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame site. Rock and Roll have sheltered and comforted me in many times of needs. For as long as I can remember as a kid and throughout my painful adolescence years, and also as an adult, it has inspired me to appreciate the music of all kinds throughout the years.
Admission to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in Cleveland, has been postponed for the current week, apparently so Republican National Convention-goers can unreservedly visit the "Louder Than Words: Rock, Power, and Politics" show shortly possessing its upper floors. This appears like a smart thought. For quite a long time, Republican crusades have profoundly misjudged, regularly in clever ways, the most developmental and vital belief systems of rock music, as prove by their unending avoiding of restraining requests from performers who don 't need their dissident hollers related, even incidentally, with preservationist motivation.
This was a major point of his career as he was now gaining attention and popularity amongst white and black audiences which later made him be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, and the Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame in 2014. In 2004, he was awarded the international Polar Music Prize, given to artists in recognition of exceptional achievements in the creation and advancement of music.

David Bowie was born in South London's Brixton neighborhood on January 8, 1947. His first hit was the song "Space Oddity" in 1969. The original pop chameleon, Bowie became a fantastical sci-fi character for his breakout Ziggy Stardust album. He later co-wrote "Fame" with John Lennon which became his first American No. 1 single in 1975. An accomplished actor, Bowie starred in The Man Who Fell to Earth in 1976. Rock music has come a long way since its development in the early 20th century. The genre, defined “as a merger between rhythm&blues and country” (Scaruffi, The History of Rock Music:1955-1966), started out more as an underground market, but ended up becoming a significant aspect of American popular music history. Rock-n-Roll music produce many legendary artists who will for ever be known as innovators of the genre. Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry were some of the many artists in Rock-n-Roll who will always live on in their music. Many teenagers were also to identify it due to its rebellious nature their disapproval of the cold war. Towards the end of the 1950s, Rock-n-Roll was ending on a particularly bad note, with a brief decline:
When people hear the genre “rock and roll,” they often think of performers like Elvis Presley, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. Those bands have provided the foundation for rock and roll, but the newer bands have to carry over from the bands of the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s to the bands of the 1990’s and the 2000’s. The new generation of bands has just as much, if not more, popularity than the bands of the older generation. Bands do not gain popularity just by showing up to rehearsal, though. Gaining popularity can take years of making music, and sometimes establishing credibility takes more time than other bands. The more popular bands that have many fans are bands like Three Days Grace, Alter Bridge, and Avenged Sevenfold. These three bands have had
