Tasks and responsibilities: Manage associates, make sure customers are taken care of, manage sales and inventory, and make sure to keep a clean food safety department.
1. Were you intentional about wanting to become a manager?
“Yes. I started as a baker in 2011. I learned about the great opportunities that came with management so I learned all I could about the job.”
2. We’ve learned that the three levels of managerial levels are: frontline/operational, tactical, and strategic. Were you a frontline manager before moving to your current level of management?
“Yes. I was an Assistant Bakery Manager. I managed the day-to-day roles and production. I managed our sales and adjusted production when needed. I made sure the departments inventory stayed balanced along with ordering supplies.”
3. What were some of the best lessons you learned from your experience as a frontline manager?
“Being a frontline manager I learned everything I needed to know about running a department or business. Being the Assistant Bakery Manager I learned how to manage associates, inventory, track sales, train associates, and learn/adjust to new technologies and policies that may arise.”
4. What are some everyday issues/struggles
There are more little jobs that the catering associates must perform. They must know all the diets, do their cleaning jobs within the kitchen, and ensure that all their patients are happy.

The company that I chose to do my presentation on is Maurices Store. I worked in retail as a manager for 12 years at the former County Seat and one of my assistants is still working retail as a manager at Maurices here in Dubuque. I was interested in choosing retail sales because it is where I started and I wanted to see how it has changed over the years.
My background includes serving as a customer service associate within many different environments. Most recently, I worked at the customer service desk for Whole Foods Market-Saint Paul, where my responsibilities included handling customer merchandise returns, issuing refunds/store credits, answering phones, and back-up cashiering during busy periods.

I got my first look at the food and beverage industry and was introduced to analytics, sales and marketing at Acosta from there I’ve been blessed to continue that career at AC Nielsen and spent the last 12 years working Kraft Heinz as a Business Sales Manager in charge of millions of dollars’ worth of business….
According to this case study, I have been doing excellent work for Dunkin Donuts for the past two years. The owner already owns 20 other Dunkin Donuts and is looking to open 5 more locations. Because of my good track record and my store being the top performing store out of the 20 locations. The owners have decided to promote you to district manager. In this case study, I will go over the job design, organizational design, recruiting and selection, and training and performance appraisals as it relates to effectively operate the new locations. Once I had worked at Taco Bell for a few months, I learned that I really enjoyed working in a restaurant. Within six months of working at Taco Bell, I was promoted to become a manager, which I never expected to happen.

My ideal job would be an assistant store manager at Brookshire’s Grocery Company. I chose this job because I have spent the past four years working at the Palestine, Tx store location and have loved my time there so far. I would like to continue working in such a great work environment and move up to the position of assistant store manager.
I am excited to apply for the Administrative spa coordinator position. Where I would like to be career wise in 5 years is in a Hospitality management career. In 10 years I would like to own an event planning/ catering company. If I can design an ideal job for myself is a management/ customer service career with assistance with inventory. My experience with customer service is when I worked as a personal chef. As a personal chef I had to keep an inventory; made sure the customer had an enjoyable experience and assigned with an event as big as 200 people. Gonzales food stores, a family owned grocery store chain headquartered in El Paso, is considering a major expansion. They have asked me to research the process and to help them decide exactly how to raise the needed capital. During my research I found the financing with stock offers several advantages over debt, however there are disadvantages as well. One of the main advantage is that common stock will not require them to make fixed payments. Gonzales’s directors have a choice to pay dividends if returns are adequate. Common stock never matures and don’t have to be repaid. Common Stock will lower Gonzales’s debt to income ratio, this will allow Gonzales to have some wiggle room for expanding.
3. How do you educate a manager to manage an organization as it evolves over time from an entrepreneurial structure to a more sophisticated and complex organizational structure?
