Oskar Schindler’s identity drastically changes from the beginning to the end of the movie. At first, Schindler was a greedy, selfish, and rich man, who was a member of the Nazi party and profited from the war. He also was a womanizer who constantly cheated on his wife. He only cared about making money and he only hired Jewish workers because they were cheaper. He saved his workers initially because he did not want to pay to train other workers and protected them since he believed that their welfare impacted his business. Oskar Schindler grew up in a prosperous Catholic family with all the privileges money could buy. He grew up to be a German industrialist, spy, and a member of the Nazi Party, who outwitted Hitler and the Nazis to save more Jews than any other from the deathly events of World War॥. With the help of his wife, Emilie Schindler, Oskar Schindler saved the lives of 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his ammunition and enamelware factories, spending millions bribing the SS, and eventually risking his life to rescue the Schindler-Jews (“The Oscar Schindler Story”)

Heinrich Himmler was born October 7, 1900; He was a German politician, police administration, and military commander. He grew up in a comfortable and conservative Roman Catholic and middle class family. Himmler got his high school degree and got his degree in agriculture at the institute at the Institute of Technology in Munch. He was married to Margerete Boden and he had one daughter. Growing up he had suffered from health problems, including lung infections, typhoid fever and chronic gastrointestinal ailments.

Disease was one of the effect that affected the Jews in the holocaust. “One of the disease that caused the Jews to get sick was typhus” (“Typhus”). That shows how the Jews were living in poor conditions which caused people to get ill. “There are three different types of Typhus; epidemic/louse-borne typhus caused by rickettsia prowazekii ,murine typhus caused by rickettsia typhi and scrub typhus caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi”(Typhus) . In Auschwitz II Birkenau camp , there was no running water and unsanitary equipment which caused the spread of diseases”(Auschwitz:The Camp of Death).This shows how the Jews did not get clean water to drink and what they drink and eat were contaminated and infected. Imagine your child dying a few months after they are born because of the genes you passed down to them. This is possible with many genetic diseases; one such disease can be Krabbe disease. Krabbe disease changes many aspects of a diagnosed person’s life because of the troubling and debilitating side effects. Children with Krabbe disease might not be able to complete daily activities. This can affect not only the child but also the people around them.

The general health of the patient is currently being compromised due to present illness mentioned above, but is stable. L.H. reports his usual health to be, “normal and not too crazy like this”. Patient has some fatigue noted while conducting daily activities; No recent weight change, fever or sweat. The skin noted to some discoloration on upper right side of back. There is no pruritus, rash or lesions present. Bruises noted bilateral on arms. Patient reported taking baby aspirin as daily medication. His hair is greying and thinning with no hair loss.

Oskar Schindler was an industrialist who was a figure of hope and optimism for the Jewish people during the horrific and appalling acts of the Germans. Many people contemplate if he was a savior or a sinner because of his involvements in the Nazi party. His works manifested the world and we think he was a savior and not a sinner. His profound works exemplify what it means to help people even in a time of despair, and hatred that embodied the world. Usually when you see a red cross you think you start to have positive thoughts but most of all a sense of hope if you are sick or injured. That was not the case with the with the red crosses you would see on the vans parked outside of Auschwitz. Although there were medical procedures being done at Auschwitz, they were not being done for the benefit of the prisoners. This illusion that legitimate medical procedures were being conducted was not only used to deceive the Jews in order for them to not put up any form of resistance. However, interestingly enough this illusion was also for the Nazi doctors to believe that they were doing legitimate medical procedures at the camp. Watching Schindler's list I decided to focus on Oskar Schindler. Throughout the movie Schindler personal emotions change on the war. In the beginning we see that it was a good thing for business that nothing else mattered as long as he made money. When Jews would come up he wouldn't care about them because he knew he could manipulate them and earn more money since they needed him. Schindler didn't really care for the Jews and what would happen to them. We see that Schindler only concern is that his business profits in the war. His concern for going to parties were to make connection that would better his money earning business. Money was his only concern which is why he went out seeking a jew. Since having a jew made it so they could be payed less than a normal person and they would be to scared to not do work. If he got a Jew it would earn him more money than hiring a German accountant. After getting an accountant he goes and seek workers for his factory. The workers are Jews since they don't need to be payed to be working. We later learn that his wife influences him with making business and wanting to succeed. He came from a place where he had nothing and is just beginning to make it. Hes making so much money he doesn't know what to do and he thanks the war for that. With his business doing so well he starts to care about his workers. Even in the midst the devastation of a national genocide, where one race turned against another in hate, good people existed and worked to counteract the hate through love and compassion. Oskar Schindler was one of these people. World War II provided him the means to become a very wealthy and powerful man, yet he did not exploit the Jews like many other businessmen during his time. He used his money and power to save thousands. Much can be learned from what happened during the holocaust and what Schindler did to save thousands of Jews.
