Abstract
There are conflicting expectations of the nature of a company’s responsibilities to society. However, those companies that undertake what may be termed ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ must decide; what are the actual social responsibilities of these companies? I will present a possible paradigm. Also, I will look at the benefit to the business that employs proper management as compared the business with poor management. This research paper describes my view of corporate social responsibility and compares the social responsibilities of Delta Air Lines and Spirit

Delta must be proactive with operational improvements or they will promote a negative reputation for their brand name from which they may not recover. Delta needs to urgently improve all customer service issues or face passenger declines. The board members, the CEO of the company, and the company executives, along with all employees

Owing to its openness and fairness in their commitments with people, Delta Airline control over transportation network to fly 56% of the total passengers from various airports round the globe. Company has used conservative approach to analyze the customers need since inception to provide them exactly what they are expecting from airline industry. As far as camaraderie among employees are concerned, in the beginning of the twenty first century, the company has faced a number of issues in terms of employee relations but has continued to find the ways to be the leader of the airline industry (Kaufman). Today, in Delta Airlines the employees are being taught that their company is basically a customer service company that aims at satisfying the air travel and hospitality needs of the customers. With huge investments in employee training programs, staff has been trained enough to provide the best customer service and achieve satisfaction and loyalty of their customers. I chose Southwest Airlines as my organization because it is the main airline I use for both business and pleasure. Their employees have a strong loyalty to their company and that carries over to the customers. Their vision “is to become the world’s most loved, most flown, and most profitable airline.” ("Southwest Airlines Careers - Culture," n.d.) Southwest gives public praise to their employees that have embodied the company values through acts of customer service both internally and publically through their Spirit magazine. Stories of how a little girl lost her toy bear and the attendant rushed out to get another one or a woman who said being a flight attendant was on her bucket wish was fulfilled on the flight are examples of the culture that they built in their company. These stories stick in customer's mind.
American Red Cross helps out communities that have been struck with disaster and brings them back to life again. They also accept the gracious blood donations from people who want to donate blood, so other people can use that lifesaving blood. These unbelievable people are not hesitant when they donate, they just do it without thinking twice. This organization does a fantastic job of helping others, because there are plenty of stories told by people firsthand on camera. It truly does show you how amazing your donations and volunteer work means to these people who have been damaged. These people could have died without the help of all the great donors and volunteers to this foundation. This organization should continue because of all of the great things this organization has done specifically when they help out communities who have been struck with disaster out of nowhere, and bring them back to strong, amazing communities. A key idea that I have picked up out of researching this charity is that the American Red Cross foundation does things to benefit others. They do things for a better life for others, and for me, that is why I expect they are one of the best charities out
Employee loyalty has been key to Delta’s success. For example, in 1982 the company was going through financial struggles and in order to help, their employees took a voluntary pay cut. The company used the proceeds to purchase their first 767 aircraft, which they called “Spirit of Delta” ("Delta Airlines: Flying High in a Competitive Industry”).
“At Delta, we’re commintted to operating in a sustainable manner and are always looking for new ways to reduce our environmental footprint”.

People feel that the corporation has done great harm to both the environment and to society and that with all of its wealth and power, it should be leading the fight to save the Earth, to combat poverty and illness and etc. "Corporations are now expected to deliver the good, not just the goods; to pursue

The objective of this research paper is to describe how the 21St Century defines corporate social responsibility in relation with the triple bottom line concept, guiding the airline industry into becoming a forward-thinking industry embedding sustainability into their core of business operations to create shared value for business and society. I will define corporate social responsibility and areas of social responsibility in the airline industry at the beginning of the paper and proceed with how it ties into the bottom line concept. Next, I will give brief examples of airlines such as JetBlue Airways, and British Airways how they apply these concepts into their mission. In conclusion, I will express my own thoughts about how customers and employees have more choices from the industries than they had in the past. They are more aware of the ethical and environmental stance of todays’ industries.
