The NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) - is a national charity which works to protect children from harm or stop children from being abused. It is the only charity which has a statutory power to take action where there are cases of child abuse. They provide support for children and their families, work with a wide range of child protection organisations to protect children and raise public awareness through campaigning.

“How JROTC has prepared me to be a better citizen of the United states of America”. JROTC has prepared me to become a better citizen by teaching me how to use leadership skills and be able to cope with subordinates. It also has prepared me to be a better citizen by showing me what the 7 army values are and what they mean. Some of the army values are respect, honor, integrity, and personal courage. JROTC has showed me how to do things different from the way I thought things should be done and how to march and be able to keep a company and platoon together when marching. Since I know a lot about the JROTC I am able to help other people become better citizens like I was taught. I am also a better citizen because i have the discipline not to do certain things that I did before I took the JROTC class.

WIC (Women, Infant, and Children) program for pregnant women and for children from newborn to 5 years old. The WIC program is design for a healthy nutrition to help the low income mother by providing a check for all the qualified food. It’s beneficial for pregnant mom and children to eat healthy. WIC food vitamins and minerals that helps a person nutritional needs, especially pregnant mothers and children. WIC program only covers for pregnant women and children up to age 5, if there are health issue WIC program will provide more check for different food that would help depending on what type of health issue a mother with child and the child(ren). Usually, WIC program is different in every state because of different income calculation, for example in North Carolina you have to be a single mother or single mother-to-be will be approve, but married with children; WIC goes by all income in the household and there are certain income range to get approve. They are very strict about income because of the food check given is a lot. This is going to be about a woman with 16 months old child and planning to become pregnant soon, but she is severely anemic.

The effects of teen homelessness are many ranging from untreated physical and mental health to drug and alcohol dependence. Many youth also fall victim to the prison system and even death due to criminal behavior as a means of survival. During my research a study was conducted on youth entering and exiting the foster care system. Research has shown that the very systems put into place to ensure child safety and reduce outcomes such as poverty have place more youth at risk “Homelessness and its associated psychosocial effects continue to plague American urban centers. Especially troubling are suggestions that foster care functions as a pipeline to the streets for older adolescents leaving the system. Surveys of service providers and homeless populations suggest that young people exiting foster care have difficulty securing stable housing” (Fowler, Toro, & Miles, 2009, p.1).

They key objective of the Coop 12 program is to give you a taste of a career choice that you have an interest in. Since I knew that I want to become a Registered Nurse I was placed at the South Cumberland Community Care Center and at the Parrsboro Regional Elementary School in the grade Primary/ One class. In the time of 100 hours I needed, I spent most of those hours at the hospital. There had been a variety of different jobs that I was able to do at the hospital, more than I was able to do at the elementary school.
