Speed vs Power Would you rather have a lot of speed or a lot of power? Well in football it matters a lot on what style of running back your team has. Your team could have a very fast and shifty back like the Philadelphia Eagles running back, LeSean McCoy. Or they could have a very strong and powerful runner like the Seattle Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch. There are pretty much no similarities between these two styles of running besides that they are styles of running. These two types of play styles can also be incorporated into being an entire offense, for example in 2010 the speedy type of offense with the Oregon Ducks played against a very powerful style of team with the Stanford Cardinals. On October 2nd, 2010 in Autzen Stadium located in Eugene, Oregon two different types of teams met. The 9th ranked Standford Cardinal, a very powerful offense that moves slowly and methodically met the 4th ranked Oregon Ducks, a team that moved the ball with an incredible tempo and a rediculous speed. Stanford was led by head coach Jim Harbaugh, Junior quarterback Andrew Luck, and power running back Stepfan Taylor. Oregon was led by head coach Chip Kelly, Sophomore quarterback Darron Thompson, and speed running back LaMichael James. Led by a very good running attack the Oregon Ducks prevailed with a win by a score of 52-31, running back LaMichael James had thirty one carries for two hundred and fifty seven yards and three touchdowns.
