I believe that an undergraduate study does not fully prepare me to face the current challenges in research and industry. A comprehensive graduate program is a fitting sequel to the undergraduate study as it opens up gates to explore, thus leading to a wider range of career objectives and expand my horizons in the field of Electrical. I hope to continue this exciting journey of learning by probing deep into the roots of the subject, hence, acquire greater awareness of the subtleties of different processes and their applications. First and foremost, I would like to express gratitude to NLDC, Power System Operation Corporation Ltd (POSOCO) for providing me a magnificent opportunity in the form of this dissertation to learn.

Seattle University’s Catalog for Electrical Engineering Major is simply divided into three modules. The first one is ‘Engaging Academic Inquiry’. In this module, students are expected to focus more on the core academic courses and how to achieve accomplishments and maintain good grades.

As rightly said by Nikola Tesla, “We crave for new sensations but soon become indifferent to them. The wonders of yesterday are today common occurrences”. The sweeping changes in the Technological world with the advent of Electronics have made the role of electrical and electronics engineering a really indispensable one. My fascination for engineering was from an early stage though not a conscious one. It has been my deepest desire to be a part of this proliferating community. While my Bachelor’s degree has given me a well-rounded strong fundamental platform and exposure in the Electrical and Electronics field, I am keen to pursue Graduate education to advance my knowledge as well as contribute to specific areas in Electronics and advancements in technology. I thereby seek to pursue graduate studies in Electrical Engineering at University of Texas at Dallas.

On my first day of Engineering life, the lecture of Basic Electrical Engineering was something that generated keen interest in my heart about this core field. Electrical being mother of different branches of Engineering I could learn even Electronics and Programming based subjects parallel to our field. I have always been fully focused in learning my subjects and completing assignments and all of that

My desire to be an integral part of this process of betterment motivated me to choose engineering as my career. A natural aptitude for mathematics, good analytical ability, tenacity and high academic credentials helped me secure admission for undergraduate studies at Sreenivasa Institute of Technology and Management Studies affiliated to JNTU University, one of the most prestigious universities in India. This was the first time hearing about how electricity works, at the time I was almost a junior in high school and was very interested in learning why we had never covered this subject in class. It seemed like an important thing to know, a substance what everyone uses and is even found in nature, but something that we never covered. I had no idea what a current or voltage was or how they worked together, let alone I know nothing about the digital side of it, things like a logic gate and jk flip flops sounded like something out of a science fiction movie. It was not until I started my college career that started to dive into the electrical world. To me at the time, the public school system seemed a little flawed, you could take classes on other careers such as business and economics, but the drastically increasing field of electronica’s was absent. It was not until you took classes that were designed around electronics that you would hear about them.

The power flow analysis involves the calculations of power flows and voltages of a transmission network for specified terminal or bus condition. Such calculations are required for the analysis of steady-state as well as dynamic performance of power systems [1].

The first decade of 21st century will be remembered for the incredible advancement in the electronics. A decade ago there were televisions which occupied a large table whereas the present day flat screen LCD or LED televisions can be hung to a wall. The desktops are replaced by laptops and which in turn are replaced most recently by the tablets. This reduction in the size of electronic gadgets with increase in working efficiency over the years amazed me. Hence naturally, I grew up with a passion towards this field and this passion led me to choose Electronics and Communication Engineering as my undergrad course. The field of electrical & electronics engineering has always fascinated me. I picked up the rudiments of electronics field and electrical engineering. My interest started developing in the early stage of my life, when I studied about the invention of computers, moreover about its large size. The transformation from the large size to small palmtops enticed me to know about the factors that are responsible for making computers, also the electronic gadgets so small. I was taken aback after seeing a small chip for the first time in my school days, furthermore when it came to my knowledge that this single chip contains more than 1000 transistors, it really became impossible for me to believe, “integrated circuits” was the answer I received, but wasn’t able to penetrate the fundamentals of it. My father is with the Indian Army and we moved to a new city every two years. In India, where language, food and culture change every hundred miles, I completed my education in several schools and under diverse settings. My curiosity to work in situations where 'nobody knows anything ', and build up everything from scratch led me to pursue Engineering. Since automation, digitization and convergence of technology are today central to all streams of engineering, I decided to opt for Electronics and Communications Engineering for under graduation. This stream enabled me to apply my knowledge to build different applications in any field, and the courses served in refining my understanding about the subject making me keenly appreciative of the subtleties in this field.

From my child hood my surrounding makes me interested on different kind of tools, uses of electricity and their basic theorem, different mechanical combination. From my high school, I have an enthusiasm for science and mathematics. I used to read different science magazine, from which I always tried to acquire as much knowledge as possible. After finishing my college education with good result I set my aim to be an engineer and admitted in to Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) in Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh
