SWOT Analysis for Team Strengths for our team include the fact that our group consists of upper level, business majors who have studied various aspects of business theory and knowledge. This knowledge will be used to the best of the group’s ability to develop and present a well-rounded final project. One notable weakness for our group is that we are having to communicate over a distance rather than work together in a single setting. This provides some obstacles as e-mail communication is often tedious when it comes to working together in a group. However, opportunity wise, our group consists of different minded members who can provide various and diverse insights for our group project. As a group our biggest threat is mostly time and communication. Because this class ranges over a few short weeks it is imperative that our group is mindful of deadlines as well as maintaining clear communication between all members.

Then if time permits will move on to the last three. As a team we will be expected to put our best effort into every task. We will be expected to work a minimum of 1 hour per week on the project and more when important deadlines are near. After reading The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Pat Lencioni, discussing the function of effective teams in class, and completing various team building exercises, I have developed a much better understanding of the importance of a proper team in a business setting and how good team work can produce more efficient and productive results.
With a group our size we discovered it was easiest to form smaller groups and/or meet with different people at different times. With 6 people who all have very different schedules it is hard to find a time that works for everyone that isn’t late night or early morning. After an initial meeting and deciding on what it is we want to do, how we want to do it and who is good at what, we divided the project amongst the group and got to work. This worked perfect for our group because no one felt pressured to leave work early or skip any classes, we could work as individuals then come together as a team. When we had the guest speakers from Gate City Bank that was something we took away from them, being able to be independent but also rely on each
While being a new business does have its downfalls, it also comes with many opportunities. While they are starting in Dallas, they are looking to eventually expand beyond the metroplex. Due to the nature of the trucking industry, the business could potentially expand all over the continental United States. The possibility for such huge expansion will be a great opportunity for the company as it continues to grow.

Build a high-performance image- Project teams with a clear sense of purpose and confidence in their mission can perform better. This is true for any environment. A high-performance image stimulates the team’s interest, pride of participation, and sense of ownership. (Guzzo & Dickson, 1996). In response to this challenge, teamwork has been implemented in diverse projects in different countries over the last few years, taking a range of forms in theory and practice (Frobel & Marchington, 2005). Faced with this growing demand for a workforce with teamwork experience, managers are increasingly interested in the teamwork skills, behaviors and attitudes that new project management graduates bring to the workplace.
