The act of being “great” is what makes one a distinctive leader. As there are many great leaders, not all have what it takes. I believe to be great it takes self-confidence, compassion and risk-taking. Without these three attributes, we would not see our leaders as the same key people they are today. There have been a range of aspiring leaders from history to present day. The essential goal is not what one contributes to society, but how they use their gifts and talents to change it. It is very crucial for a leader to show self-confidence in the effort of becoming great. Self-confidence is the trust of one’s abilities and judgment. By using this trait, one expresses themselves as strong and powerful, not just for themselves but others around them. Expressing this trait is being aware of daily obstacles, and still remaining inner strength. Madam C.J. Walker, who was originally named Sarah Breedlove, was the first African American entrepreneur. Also in Amit carters queen Elizabeth I summary it says “she was thought of as a good and wise ruler who was truly thought of as a good ruler
From the vantage point of the present, it is easy to look back at the tenure of any great leader and draw conclusions about just what it was that made him/her great. We can examine the circumstances under which their leadership flourished; piece together what we know of their character and personality traits; delve into the factors that may have driven them; and dissect their leadership style all in an effort to pinpoint the source of their success. The ‘Great Man’ theory, popular in the 19th century and now thoroughly debunked, held that leaders are born, not made; suggesting that men like George Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., and Winston Churchill were born with the innate capacity to change the world (Landis,

We all hope to have, and understand, the characteristics that an amazing leader possesses. There are many great leaders, spread throughout our history. Confidence is another trait a leader should possess. Both Odysseus in The Odyssey and David in the Books of Samuel demonstrate this quality. They have belief in their abilities to meet most challenges that come their way. Odysseus never believes a person initially, being it mortal or immortal. He always likes to be done in his way. Odysseus believes in himself rather than anybody else. He wants to figure what to do for himself and not someone else do it for him. For instance, he argues with Calypso and Ino because Odysseus did not believe them initially, but wanted things to be done his way (Book 5, line 180 & line 370). Moreover, David, another God-chosen King of Israelites, shows confidence when he tells Saul that though he (David) is young, he can fight the giant Philistine warrior, Goliath (1Samuel 17:32-37). However, David confidence is from the fact that God is on his side and will not let him down.

A sign of a great leader is having confidence in himself and the people with him.
Someone is not born with greatness, they are destined with greatness. Achieving greatness in leadership may be hard to maintain, keeping it and being known for your greatness is even harder to accomplish. Greatness can be achieved through military victories, being appointed a high officer, known as a political figure and considering the lower-class citizens. Many leaders strive to reach being one of the people’s greatest leaders, but many fail. However, there is one in particular who was capable of achieving the position of being known as ‘one of the people’s greatest leaders’. Marc Antony, who served with Julius Caesar, was known as one of the people’s greatest leaders for being a warrior,
No one can get success without having the trust of people on his capabilities because without that he won’t be able to gain enough confidence to take desired actions without the fear of being rejected. Lastly, he must take some steps in order to prove him a leader and also to make him realize his very own potential (Jim Murray).
