Conceived Onika Tanya Maraj on December 8, 1984, in Saint James, Trinidad, Minaj is of blended African, Caribbean, and South Asian history. She spent her younger years in Trinidad, moving to the United States when she was five years of age to settle with her parents in South Jamaica, Queens. There her mom functioned as a medical caretaker 's aide, attempting to take care of the family on her $200 every week. Her dad drank vigorously and did drugs, taking cash and robing his own family to fuel his addiction. In some cases his activities had more compelling results. At the point when Minaj was a tyke her dad attempted to torch the family 's home in an unsuccessful endeavor to murder her mom. "I 've generally had this female giving force …show more content…
"In all honesty, the most recent year of my life, I can 't let you know where it started and finished, or what happened in the middle of," Minaj said "I can 't recall dates, I simply continue onward. I didn 't understand things would move so rapidly," she finished up. The rapper kept on featuring as a visitor MC onTracks, for example, Sean Kingston 's Letting go (Dutty Love)" and Jay Sean 's "2012 (It Ain 't the End)" as summer turned to fall, making her announce "50k for a verse, no Album out," in her rap on the Kanye West track "Monster." This large number of cameos helped Minaj impact the world forever in October of 2010 when she set a record for having the most songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 for no fewer than seven entries. Pink Friday followed quickly right behind Minaj 's breakout success, hitting shelves in November of 2010 to great excitement. People generally agreed that the album was a solid, if not overwhelming, first appearance. Writing for Rolling Stone, Rob Sheffield noted that "there 's nothing as weird or striking as her 'Monster ' feature," even as Entertainment Weekly 's Brad Wete supported tracks such as "Moment 4 Life" that "showcase her skill for melody while bragging telling a story her struggles be they professional or intimate ones of love and hurt." The openly Minaj crisscrossed a variety of topics on her first appearance, taking on characters of different
The idea about human to reconcile the uncertainties of the past with a new or present situation. Throughout the year I studied the texts about, novel 1984 by George Orwell, a film Good Will Hunting and Shakespeare's play Hamlet. In these texts because the characters' uncertainty about the past, they won’t succeed in future situations in their lives. I'm referring from the text of how these uncertainties can have an effect for these protagonists throughout the story until they reach tougher situations.
WAR IS PEACE. FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. Can a world ever be like the scenario that occurs in the the story 1984? Everywhere you go, the government or party in other words are always watching you. They watch you in your house through your telescreen which you could never turn off and they hear you through the bushes. If you do any illegal actions the police might capture you and send you to the Ministry of Love where you would be torchered and beaten up. Actions that includes free thoughts, love, and even expressing who you are could bring in punishments. Writing a diary or opposing the government are also prohibited. In fact, thinking rebellious thoughts is the worst crime one would want to do. As in every modern book, there are plethora of themes in the book, 1984. One of the most powerful themes in this book is it is very difficult to control someone when they are glued to a thought.
As much as we citizens want to deny it, government corruption exists everywhere, whether it be a small group of greedy politicians or the system entirely. Is it shouted at the top of the mountains? Of course not, because it defeats the whole purpose of being corrupt, which is to quietly sweep away one’s imperfections and present themselves as honourable people. An appalling level of corruption and political power is described in the book 1984 written by George Orwell. Ingsoc, a political party, runs a totalitarian society, and with no resistance from their citizens, the government deceives them by changing the past and announcing fake news. Ultimately, they limit the thoughts and emotions of their citizens. Although 1984 tells a fictional
1. The world within which Winston lives is replete with contradictions. For example a, major tenet of the Party's philosophy is that War is Peace. Similarly, the Ministry of Love serves as, what we would consider, a department of war. What role do these contradictions serve on a grand scale? Discuss other contradictions inherent in the Party's philosophy. What role does contradiction serve within the framework of Doublethink? How does Doublethink satisfy the needs of The Party?
The author of the novel 1984, George Orwell, is a political critic. Therefore, he used very precise descriptions of situations and words to provide the reader a clear understanding of the entity he is criticizing. When Winston describes the destruction of past records to create new ones to Julia, he says: “Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” (pg. 162). Here, instead of only saying “Every record has been

Power is the catalyst which establishes government, leaders, societal hierarchies and civilisation. It is an inseparable part of human nature, which is reflected in pop culture and literature. In an excerpt from 1984 by George Orwell, the theme of power and the abuse of power is privileged, and the allocation of the power in that society is discussed. Lord of the Flies, contrarily, depicts a scenario in which the individual has complete power, and constraints of authority and civilisation are removed. In the trailer, the composer uses film language such as dark music and jump shots to chaotic scenes to demonstrate the effects of complete freedom and the danger of it. Winston Churchill’s 1947 commentary that “Democracy is the worst form of
Beating the highest holding ranking of Taylor Swift’s song ,“Look What You Made Me Do”, on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, Cardi stole the top slot, having “Bodak Yellow” claim its spot as number one for over three weeks. This marked incredible history for Cardi being that “Bodak Yellow” broke through as the longest running number one single from a solo female rapper in Hot 100 history. Exceeding the success of Lauryn Hill’s hit, that held the same title, “Doo Wop (That Thing)”, from 1998, Cardi was able to change history for herself and female rappers after 19 years. The song ultimately went platinum four times and received much praise from fellow
The novel 1984 and the graphic novel V for Vendetta have similar views on how society is being run. However V for Vendetta was based on 1984 since 1984 was written before V for Vendetta. Both of these novels are similar in a way like the themes and how the male protagonists are the one in charge of overturning the government.
When Jacksons Thriller album came in 1982, it became one of the world’s best-selling albums of all time. Gail Mitchell of billboard.com said that, within only a year the album sold for over 65 million copies. It is the first ever album to be certified as a 32x multi-platinum album. In 1984 the album won a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards including album of the year, not to mention every single on the album reached Billboard Hot 100. Just the awards their selves speak for how amazing this album was. Thriller consisted of just seven singles starring many hits with “Billie Jean”, “Beat It”, “Thriller”, and “P.Y.T.” Each single was released at a different time first with, “The Girl Is Mine” on October 18, 1982 to Thriller being the final single released on January 23, 1984. Thriller was produced by Quincy Jones and recorded through Westlake Recording Studios.

In the novel 1984 by George Orwell a man named Winston lives within a dis-utopian society. People within this society keep their emotions non-noticeable because if they go against what the inner circle is teaching than that person would work manually labor for the rest of their life. In the story a party known as the inner circle uses a few slogans and sayings to control everything. The inner circle uses all that they say to brainwash people into believing what they are saying is true. The inner party 's slogans are “War is peace, Freedom is Slavery, and Ignorance is strength” By using these phrases one can see that the inner circle can manipulate everyone into believing in what the inner circle tells
In light of current events, society is more concerned than ever about just how much power the government has over people. Individuals are concerned that those in charge might implement policies that could deteriorate certain groups’ quality of living. To some, this may be foolish, but as is shown in some novels, this could happen, and when it does, it is hard to combat. In both George Orwell’s 1984 and Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World authors depict societies under strict government control. These instances display to readers the issues that arise when governments lead through excessive limitation and by demanding conformity.
A novel’s ending plays a very important role on the way it is perceived; for example, a novel could have a great plot and character development but having a dissatisfying ending will just make the reader want to toss it directly into the trash can. In his novel 1984, George Orwell manages to link the events throughout the novel into the most satisfactory ending I’ve read so far: Winston’s death. When reading the novel for the first time I thought O’Brien actually belonged to the brotherhood and was somehow trying to help Winston, then, after reading a few more pages I’d go back and in a way battle that thought with the idea that at the end, Winston would end up inevitably dead. It’s that what makes the ending so great, it was caused by
