What causes the civil war I believe there were many reason why civil war was causes ,but this are some overall reason why it got into a war (1) the ethical issues of the principles or the blame of the parties leading to the conflict and their political parties or leaders (2) retaining of Negro slavery (along with the establishment's function in a racial society) not only as the indication to the moral issue and of course racial issues, but as the center on which the meaning of the war turns into, causes for these two reasons political and economic standings (3) the United States as a federal or national body established in the revolutionary period and either preserved or perverted by the civil war( Church History). African American during
Slavery, as Abraham Lincoln often noted, was the root cause of the Civil War. Tensions over slavery dated back to the contradictory nature of the American Revolution of 1776 that resulted in a republic simultaneously committed to freedom for whites and bondage for blacks (Barney W., p. 61). Within years North and South reached the point at which compromise was not possible. At that time Civil War had been started.
The causes of the Civil War were complex and have been controversial since the country began. Some causes include; states’ rights, economics, and slavery. The most recognizable and popular cause is slavery. The freeing of the slaves was an important moral issue at the time and one of the greatest causes of the civil war. "It was only by carefully avoiding the moral issue involved in slavery that Northerners and Southerners could meet on any common ground." (Goldston, 79). The time came in which our great country would finally address the moral issue of slavery. Although there are many different causes to the American Civil War, the main cause was slavery because other causes are rooted in the issue of slavery.
The Civil War was fought in the United States of America between the northern and southern states starting in 1861 and ending in 1865. The Civil War was the most significant time in the history of America. The Civil War was to be thought as the shaping of the American individual. The northerners and the southerner’s views on this war were different. The northerners viewed it as a revolutionary war and the southerners viewed it as rebellion. The war started out due to the many differences between the northern and southern states. Between these two regions laid economic, social and political differences, with slavery being the main root of the differences. As the war ended it caused many social and economic changes. One huge change was the abolishment of slavery. Race relation and slave confusions were tearing up the country’s political and social architecture. I believe that the Civil War has changed the way we look at this world today because once the Civil War came to an end it abolished slavery.
Many people can argue that the main cause of the Civil War was the Kansas-Nebraska Act, The Missouri Compromise, or even the Compromise of 1850. There are an abundant amount of reasons that people can argue how the Civil War was started. What most people don’t understand, that most of the events leading up to the Civil War that people debate on, were related to slavery. Slavery is the practice of, or a system based on, using the enforced labor of other people (in this case the “other people” were African-Americans). At the time of the Civil War, the Abolitionists (the people that wanted to end slavery most were in the north) had many conflicts with the South (who preferred slavery). All of these conflicts, such as the Border War and John Brown’s Raid, made the North and the South have violent attitudes toward each other. And then the “straw that broke the camel’s back” effect came into place, and the North and the South eventually declared war against each other. The main cause of the Civil War was slavery as shown by the Border War, John Brown’s Raid, and the novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher.
John Brown’s Raid was a more influential cause to the civil war than the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution caused incompability between the North and the South. The North relied on wage laborers with the new machine age economy while the South relied heavily on slaves. So, the North did not need slaves for their economy and fought to free the slaves. The South fought to in order to keep their cotton production going (Causing the Civil War). However, John Brown’s Raid created a more emotional response in the country. Brown gathered followers to seize arsenal
There are numerous complex reasons for the eruption of the Civil War. No single issue was the cause. However, certain events and ideas strained the relations between the North and South more than others. By the time the Civil War broke out, the North and South were almost two completely different entities. Although there was definite economic and political strife, I believe that social conflict around prominent issues such as slavery led to an irreconcilable shift in attitudes and relations.
What caused the Civil War? What was the reason behind all of that chaos? This is the question that left many puzzled. However, it is now well known that slavery was one of the main reasons. There were many uncompromising differences between the North and the South over the power to prohibit or to keep slavery. While the North predominantly held the same beliefs as Abraham Lincoln, the South held the opinion of Stephen Douglas. The polarity caused a drift between the North and the South, which became the main cause of the Civil War.
The civil war was caused by many things .Two of the main reasons where slavery and states rights .I believe the primary factor was slavery.
Over the years the actual cause of the Civil War has been misinterpreted. Many people believe that the only reason of the war was to end slavery; they are far away from being right. There were several other factors involved. We can see the different points of view on varying from state to state. If you were to ask people in the southern states they would tell you that the north wanted to abolish slavery to affect their economy and change their traditional lifestyle. On the other hand if you asked a northerner they would tell you it was to preserve the Union as one and for better chances of prosperity in the west. One thing they can both agree on is that they did not want the same thing as a society at the time. While slavery was one of the
During this time the nation was divided over many controversial things that led up to the civil war. One of these events or causes that led to the Civil War happening was the issue of slavery. The topic of slavery caused many fights and made the American people angry and turn on each other. An example of an event that involved slavery would be the Dred Scott vs. Sandford case in the nation's court that involved a black man who was suing for his freedom. The court ruled that Dred Scott was not a citizen and declared the Missouri compromise unconstitutional.
The American Civil War was one of the most disastrous wars fought throughout America’s history between the North the Union, and the South the Confederate. The Civil War was fought between 1861 to 1865. Even though the Civil War only lasted four short years it by far had the highest death toll claiming over 600,000 lives. In addition to the highest death toll, the Civil War caused a tremendous amount of physical damage around 3.3 billion U.S dollars. The lead up to this war from the South’s perspective was the fight to for independence while the North was fighting for a revolution. However, the build up of this war did not occur over night it took years and years of hatred to build up. Still today many individuals still
Civil War Historians have long debated the causes of the Civil War. Most say that slavery was the root cause. But some historians agree that the war had a number of causes. One which they agree was the sectional division between North and the South. They also point to the disputes between the federal government and the states over what rights and powers the states possessed. Historians further mention the lapse of politicians and the disorder in the American political party system during the 1850's. Yet all explanations for the causes of the war have always involved or revolved around the issue of slavery.
The first main cause of the Civil War was conflict between the North and the South about politics. The South wanted each of their states to be more ultimate than the federation or confederacy. The South also wanted to protect the right to own slaves. The South threatened
The Civil War was caused by many reasons. The factors that were most responsible in causing the Civil War were the different views of the Constitution among the North and South, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, and the arrival of Lincoln as president. They caused immense destruction throughout the nation. If these factors were prevented, the United States could have been preserved and civil war could have never occurred.
Generally, it is thought to be the South’s fault for causing the Civil War. Contrary to popular belief, the Civil War was mainly provoked by the North; through using the federal government to overtake the South, removing slavery which would destroy Southern economy, and creating the moral issue of slavery. The North was the primary reason for the start of a war that ripped our country apart.
