Global warming refers to the rising temperature trend of the earth which has seen more noticeable temperature rises due to the increase in fossil fuels and the industrial revolution which started in the late 1970s.
The greenhouse gases are produced by activities which release carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and CFCs. the most common way these gases are produced are activities like burning coal and petrol, which are called fossil fuels. This is a massive concern because the rapid rise in greenhouse gases is changing the climate faster than some living things are able to adapt, and new climates can make it hard for some species to survive.
Another factor that is taking into effect because of global warming is the ocean currents, in particular, the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) system. This area seems to be a so called warming hole in the ocean. This cool zone in the North Atlantic appears to be due to the AMOC slowing down. There is evidence that the arctic ice loss is having a negative impact on one of the planet's largest ocean circulation system. Usually the AMOC transports warm, salty water north from the tropics to south and up the east side of Greenland. This warm water cools down and sinks as it is saltier, therefore more dense than the fresh water that is is surrounded by. The process where water is flowing into the Northern Atlantic Ocean is a concern as it is one of the most efficient ways that earth transports heat from the
Global warming is the recent and ongoing rise of temperature on a global scale. Over the past century, the Earth's average temperature has risen 1.4°F (Carlowicz, 2010). Global warming is the effect of an excessive amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gasses trap heat from escaping back into space to keep the Earth from freezing, this is called the Greenhouse Effect. An excessive amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere trap too much heat, thus, causing Earth's temperature to rise.
Global warming is the rise of average temperature in the earth’s atmosphere since the late 19th century. Since the beginning of the early 20th century, the earths mean surface temperature had increased by around 0.8 degrees. Warming of the climate system had become more obvious and scientists are 90% sure that the main cause of the increase in temperature in due to the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases due to human activities such as deforestation and burning of fossil fuels.
Global warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to greenhouse gases that collect in the atmosphere, trapping the sun's heat and causing the planet to warm up
Global Warming is a high rise in the usual climate heat on the Earth's surface. People often use the term climate change to refer mainly to the warming observed since the middle 1800's. Scientists guess that Earth's normal surface temperature rose by about 0.76 Celsius degrees or 1.4 Fahrenheit degrees from the middle 1800's to the 2000's. Researchers have also found that most of the temperature rise happened from the middle 1900's to the 2000's. Normal processes have caused Earth's weather to change in the distant past. But scientists have found big evidence that people activities have caused most of the warming since the middle 1900's.
Global warming is the name given to the increase in the earth’s surface temperature. It is caused by the collection of greenhouse gases, carbon
Global Warming is the increase of Earth's surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels
Why are the temperatures are steadily getting hotter? Summers getting longer and winters shorter? Glaciers melting and sea levels rising? The reason is Global Warming. What is Global Warming? Global warming is when the world, the globe’s temperature increases and it starts to get hotter. The reason it starts to increase is because of what is called the greenhouse gases. The green house gases are mainly caused by humans which also means that , the humans are causing global warming. Humans have been releasing gases into the air as they go on with their modern lives. The main gas that goes into the atmosphere is carbon dioxide and that comes from everyone, 28% comes from transportation ,10% from agriculture, 20% from industry, 10% commercial and residential, 32% electricity that's 82% of carbon dioxide that's in the atmosphere. The other 18% comes from Methane 9%, nitrous oxide 6%, Fluorinated gases 3%. The first time they discovered and saw the increase in greenhouse emissions was back in 1800’s when the first industrial revolution was happening the scientist discovered this by studying the ancient ice, they also discovered that the level of the carbon dioxide was 290 parts per million (ppm). By 1960 Charles Keeling measured the level of carbon dioxide and it measured 315 ppm. By 1970 April 22 the world marked the first Earth Day on their calendars to raise awareness and help their environment. It wasn't until 1976 that the scientist discovered that carbon
Global Warming is the heating of the globe due to the collection of CO2 and other pollutants that cause the greenhouse gases to collect and cause the sun’s rays to reflect on earth’s surface. Instead of the rays reflecting back to space, they collect in the atmosphere resulting in higher temperatures. Due to Global Warming, Antarctica is losing the majority of its ice resulting in starvation of many animals. Polar bear populations are seeing a decrease in their population due to global warming. They do not have enough seals to hunt because the lack of sea ice. The causes of global warming are the burning of fuels. Factories are burning fossil fuels in order to operate their plants are is an immediate cause of global warming. The societal view that everyone should have a car and you are viewed lesser if you don’t is a remote cause. Issues that blend into global warming would be the political and economic issues such as the recent political race between presidents where global warming was given more light. Immediate effects that are being seen are the ice melting in polar-regions, and the increased flooding in regions. Long term effects are the decline in animal populations and the increase of ocean water temperatures. The Earth’s population needs to look at the causes of this dangerous thing, and began taking action. There are many causes to this disaster, but I am going to focus on how burning fossil fuels have impacted the environment.
Global Warming is the result of the increasing in overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere that is generally attributed to the Greenhouse Effect. The Greenhouse Effect is caused by the increase of the levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons and other pollutants (Wollersheim) in the earth’s atmosphere. Global Warming is a fact, not fiction but some people still think is it not affecting our earth’s planet. The fact is if we don’t take care of the problem now life on earth will not exist. This is an important topic that needs to be addressed before there is nothing left for the human race which includes animals and plants or any living things that live on this planet. This is no joke, but in this society, people think nothing is going to happen to our planet, I agree it probably will not in my lifetime but what happens in 100,200 years. Look at what scientist have discovered over the past decades with the globe is heating up on land and the oceans. Scientist have been studying this since the 1880s, (Pappas) we need to be educated on how to save our planet. Most scientists agrees that the main cause is human expansion of the greenhouse effect. There are facts the glaciers are melting, the sea is warming and causing the levels of the water to rise which is causing all wildlife to scramble to find a safe place to go. Take the polar bears, with all the glaciers melting they are dying out because of the perennial ice is melting. All of this
Global warming has been a hot button lately in the news. The main reason why global warming has been big issue is because people argue if global warming is real or not. There are good points to both sides of the argument. Even though temperatures have not been recorded since around 1850, some scientist believe there is not enough data to confirm global warming , global warming does exist because rise in average temperatures and the glaciers in antarctica and other mountain ranges are shrinking.
Temperatures are rising, storms are crashing down in our homes, and illnesses are affecting everyone all around us. Imagine these threatening matters approaching our life in the nearby future. The causes of these matters are due to global warming. Global warming occurs through the continuing increase in temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere due to the trigger of high levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. Global warming is strongly associated with the greenhouse effect and the gases. Other examples include the effects of what global warming does, which vary. A few common issues are floods and droughts caused by an increase in temperature. Global warming remains slowly damaging our planet in ways that can be potentially fatal to all living organisms in it.
What is Global Warming? According to Dictionary.com, global warming is an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution. According to an article by National Geographic, “The earth as a whole is warming and since 1906 the global average surface temperature has increased between 1.1 and 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit. The effects of rising temperatures aren’t waiting for some far-flung future–signs of the effects of global warming are appearing right now. The heat is melting glaciers and sea ice, shifting precipitation patterns, and setting animals on the move.” (National Geographic)
Global warming is the gradual rise of the earth’s surface temperature, caused by many natural and manmade processes that continue to affect our environment. The release of carbon dioxide and methane gases are the two main contributors for the changes in the global climate patterns. Climate change causes the sea level rise, shrinking ice sheets, declining arctic sea ice, glacial retreat, extreme weather events, ocean acidification, decreased snow cover. Because of these, the food chain is affected and the population of the species are decreasing. So, global warming is one of the most serious issues that the world is facing today.
Global warming is the heating of the atmosphere through the increase or surplus of greenhouse gases. Acting as a blanket trapping heat that would normally escape the Earth. These greenhouse gases are a result of excessive burning of fossil fuels, to fuel our technological dependent lives.
