There is something powerful about knowledge. Knowledge makes one know things that they did not know before. It helps them gain insight about issues that are seen in the world. It opens up eyes to see things through a different perspective, a perspective that they never thought of or seen without getting a gaining an understanding of that certain type of knowledge. Knowledge helps one make decisions and how to handle certain situations. Knowledge allows one to succeed in school and get acceptable grades, discern what is right and wrong, and leads to wisdom. When knowledge is limited; children and society are being naïve and lazy, people are not able to express the freedom of speech that is possible in this nation, and it ruins countries. …show more content…

They are free to do anything that they want, just as long as they do not break the law. The Declaration of Independence states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Since man has been given the freedom through the government that does not mean they have the right to limit our knowledge. As citizens of the United States, we are given the freedom to do what we please, as long as we abide by the law. People have the freedom to read what they want to. The government does not have the right to censor what man can and cannot read. Man has the freedom to know things. They also have the freedom and the right to speak up and decide what they should know and not know. Some people think that being limited in knowledge and not being told everything can benefit the world. Parents think they are protecting their children by not exposing them to the things of this world, but making them not be exposed makes them naïve. Limiting knowledge can be bad, but God saw fit for Adam and Eve to have limited knowledge and not know everything. Though God saw it good, man believes that limiting knowledge is bad because it does not express the rights that man has which are found in The Declaration of Independence. Hitler thought it was good to persuade the Germans and limit their knowledge to think that the Jews’ where bad, which caused the Jews’ to go through some terrifying and harsh things.
