The mother archetype is seen as a boring archetype whose sole purpose is to take care of her family. There is also the opposite of that though, known as the terrible mother archetype. Their character is seen as terrifying with no care for their children, which is seen in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Mary Poppins could be classified as the mother archetype but she is not defined by it. She’s a flexible character with a sense of self worth. She avoids being an archetype or a stereotype. Although both the Duchess and Mary Poppins can be classified as some version of the mother archetype, it does not limit their character.
