The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is a federal agency that is home based in Washington D.C., but has fifty-three field offices located in the larger, major cities across the United States, and around three-hundred-sixty smaller agencies in the more residential areas of the country. The FBI also has over sixty locations across the globe in the United States embassies called legal attachés. This bureau focuses on so many different areas, but they are threat-focused national security organization with deals with both law enforcement and intelligent responsibilities. With all of this responsibility, it is logical to say that the FBI is a field-oriented organization. They have nine divisions and four offices at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. These divisions and offices provide direction and support services to 56 field offices and approximately 10,100 Special Agents and 13,700 other employees.
The mission and values of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is up held with strong Constitutional values. Over the years since the FBI was created in 1908 by Attorney General Charles Bonaparte during the Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. As a progressive during this time period Bonaparte applied his philosophy to forming the FBI with several corps of agents. His thought was that these men should have expertise and not political connections. With the U.S. Constitution based on “federalism” a national government with jurisdiction over matters that cross boundaries, such as interstate and foreign affairs.

When talking about sex crimes the public goes in an uproar because it’s an emotional topic and can have a critical effect on any person. Sex offenses are nothing new and have been happing for years, but because everything is so mainstream now the public is more informed. Sex offenses are so against society’s norms that offenders are seen as the worst of the worst, but are also feared the most because offenders come in all shapes in sizes. Initially, sex crime offenders were understood to be a stranger committing the offense towards his victim in an unannounced place or time.
