The Goulburn Valley
Where is it?
The Goulburn Valley is situated to the north of the state of Victoria, just above the Melbourne Region.
Biomes
A biome is a large geographical area of distinctive plant and animal groups, which are adapted to that particular environment. The climate and geography of a region determines what type of biome can exist in that region. Major biomes include deserts, forests, grasslands, tundra, and several types of aquatic environment. As can see on the topography map, The Goulburn has two Biomes:-
1. Grassland in central, northern, west and south-west of the region and 2. Temperate forest in the south-east.
What is grown in the Goulburn.
This region is known for the dairy; about 13% of Australians milk comes from The Goulburn Valley. There are nearly 3,000 commercial dairy farms in the Goulburn Region, with 12 factories receiving milk in the area. Goulburn region dairy products include milk, butter, cheeses, yoghurt, and dried milk products. Same other product grown are Apples, apricots, peaches, pears, plums, nectarines, kiwi fruit, oranges, lemons, limes and cherries. Fruit is a big intrust bring a profit of 335m a year for the region
Agriculture in the Goulburn
Many of the farming methods in this region are from the British and some have being added over time. This region was filled with trees and native wild life but when the white came a lot of the land was cleared and made farms or for grazing animals. There are about 820
A biome is a large area or habitat that occupies the earth. Animals, plants along with flora and fauna occupy biome habitats. They cleverly adapt to their environment and geographical location. The area that I have chosen to research are the Flinders Ranges. The Flinders Rangers are in South Australia, covering 37,000 square kilometres. The biome expands from Crystal Brook in the south to Mount Hopeless in the north. There are several main general features associated with this semi-arid biome. It has landforms that are above sea level. The biome has high mountain ranges with summits reaching 900 metres. The area has steep gorges, cliffs, ridges and plateaus. The biome edges have grasslands and foothills which contain creeks, gorges, valleys,
The alpine biome is a biome high in the mountains with trees, rivers, lakes and etc. This the biome where the Himalayas, the Rockies, the Andes, and even Mount Everest! But now because of human actions, some animals are now endangered. You will learn a lot about the alpine when you finish reading this.
This biome is large community of plants and animals..Also, biomes, such as the forest, freshwater, and marine, may have more consequences . The most imports biomes are the freshwater and marine because those biomes help us get water to drink and for the crops and the marine biome is also important the study of the between people and the physical environment of the sea.
The grand Valley Ava is one of the many American Viticulture Areas located in Colorado in the area of Mesa County. It is in the area of Grand Junction and Palisadse and it is defined as being an agricultural area that is served by many canals located in the Colorado River. The AVA of grand Valley encompasses over 32,000 acres with a climate of high dessert that varies from time to time in temperature from being either cold climate or hot climate. Wine Processing began in the area of grand Valley as early as the 19th century. Most of the grape production is in the area grand Valley and many wineries are located in this area. “Colorado Grand Valley Winery Map. Wine web Solutions. 2015”
Biomes are appropriate conditions for organizing the natural world because the organisms that live in them common constellations of adaptations, particularly the climate of each of the areas and the characteristic vegetation types that develops in these divisions. It should be understood that the climate is perhaps the most important in determining classes of individuals who may live in an area and the ways they should be amended to live under different conditions of temperature and precipitation and seasonal distribution of these factors element. Every place on Earth has its own climate, influenced by both macroclimate regions as the particular microclimate. The soils are very important because they are essential to determine the types of plants that will grow into a bioclimatic zone in partical, in addition, also as substrates for animals serve. In turn, the soils are heavily influenced by regional climate, as well as the geology of the bedrock. At the same time we have to keep in mind the diversity of plants like the flora just like the diversity of the fauna as well as the adaptation of both.
All the main foods they have dried berries, corn, dried, meat and fish Rice Fresh meat. There dwelling was a Wigwams the men’s task are hunting Lacrosse. Sheltered wooded area in small groups.
Within the Murray-Darling Basin, Goulburn Valley is one of the major fruit production regions in Australia (Libby & Dixon 2011). 35% of the fruits and vegetables in Australia are grown in this region due to the fertile soils and ideal climate (Hume Regional Management Forum, Department of Planning and Community Development & Urban Development Division 2010). In addition, the establishment of SPC Ardmona has resulted in the significant growth of economy and employment within the region (Department of Agriculture 2011).
Biomes are large ecological spaces on the Earth’s surface where fauna and flora have adapted to the environment. As Australia is a huge area it has great number of different biomes. The main biomes found here include wetlands and rivers, savanna, sea grass meadows, old growth forests and deserts.
Currently residing in the state of Vermont the bioregion to which I’ve been informally assigned to is commonly known as the Laurentia bioregion. This assignment of bioregion is widely accepted, but when looked at more deeply assigning Vermont to the Laurentia bioregion becomes problematic. There are seemingly, an endless number of variables that contribute to the characteristics and difference that vary from bioregion to bioregion. Geologic makeup, weather variance, soil type, biologic diversity, and the natural processes that occur within a given territory are a few of the variables one must consider when trying to assign themselves to a specific bioregion. Laurentia as it stands as serving as an outline as a bioregion is
A biome is several communities in one specific area - a large scale ecological unit recognized primarily by its dominant plant type and vegetation structure. Temperature and precipitation can predict the type of biome that forms on a
Numinbah Valley is an area and suburb approximately forty-eight kilometres south west of the Gold Coast, in south eastern Queensland, Australia. Numinbah Valley covers approximately 116 square kilometres. The area is in the south-east part of Queensland and is part of the Gold Coast Hinterland. Numinbah Valley is the upper catchment for the Nerang River. As the name suggests, Numinbah Valley is a valley, with several elevated areas in it (Figure 14 and 13). The valley is well preserved, with only 10 percent of the area having been cleared of vegetation. Only one major road runs through the valley, it being the Nerang-Murwillumbah road (there are a few other roads which run off from this one, but they are for private use).
City of Greater Shepparton is situated 191 km away from Melbourne and in Northern Victoria it is a large city. The population is about 230,000 with major industry, hence providing employment and service. Therefore agriculture is a favourable and major production area. It is forecasted agriculture will play a significant role in the development and growth of northern Victoria.
New South Wales in the southeastern part of Australia is known for the world famous Blue Mountains, Sydney Opera House and the most popular town, Gundagai. Gundagai has become a typical icon of a distinctive Australian country town. The town is located along the Murrumbidgee River at and is located near to the Muniong and Yambla Mountain ranges. Gundagai is famous for the old bridges, statues, and monuments. Many tourists visit in this Australian town to witness the historic ‘Dog on the Tuckerbox’, the marvelous ‘Marble Masterpiece’ or the world famous Gabriel Gallery, Gundagai Emporium and Lanigan Abbey Gallery. There are many hotels and accommodations available at Gundagai that allows the
A biome, also known as life zones, consists of all plants, animals, and other organisms, as well the physical environment in a particular area. A biome is characterized by its’ plant life, climate, and location. The climate and physical features determine the boundaries of a biome. A biome is made up of many different ecosystems. The ecosystems tend to have the same pants and animals as neighboring biomes around the boundaries. The major biomes are the tundra, taiga, tropical rain forest, temperate forests, desert, grassland, savanna, chaparral, and marine. Each biome has it’s own characteristics such as the tundra.
Biomes are all over the world, that’s why they are considered the “world’s major communities.” Biomes are large areas scattered around the earth, filled with animals and plants acclimating to their environments. You can classify biomes in many different ways, by their climate, their biodiversity, human activity, their animals and plants, and their habitats. There are only five conspicuous types of biomes, Grassland, Tundra, Desert, Aquatic, and forest. Without biomes, the earth would be unbalanced. Throughout the years, we have cause a lot of damage towards our earth, such as causing pollution, and abolishing natural habitats. If we continue living like this, there might be more serious or severe implications on the biomes. Knowing that we share the world with so many other species of plants and animals, we should consider the consequences of our actions.
