The Unites States of America is currently working to combat climate change in order to protect people from its effects. By combatting climate change, the USA hopes to prevent its effects from becoming worse in the future because the USA cares for its citizens and doesn’t want them to keep experiencing the consequences of climate change. One example of a natural disaster that occurred in the USA as a result of climate change is the tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. In this event, a tornado rated 5 on the Enhanced Fuijta scale hit Oklahoma and had a negative impact on this city by destroying many of its houses and buildings also resulting in the destruction of businesses such as schools (Cable News Network). There must be a chosen time interval in order to determine a climate. It can range anywhere from 5 years to a century or longer. Why would a country that just made the Paris Agreement at the United Nations Conference, that involved working with other countries such as China and India to combat Climate Change would have the highest in Pollution. But then I thought about America is considered an First World Country and how many natural resources we have such as coal, copper, lead, and etc. We burn coal to create fossil fuel that contribute to air pollution, copper mining is used for trade and how we make our money ,but it can be harmful once it gets into our water and deadly to sea animals. Lead has been found in our air, water, and soil due to burning fossil fuel and can be deadly if too much gets into the body. Since the United States has access to these resources, we have made life easier. Every person does not need to pump water weekly for there families, we don’t have to grow food because grocery stores provide it, electricity is accessible if you pay for it, and with freedom that come from being a citizen or pollution increase because there is no other country like us.
