According to the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to classify an object as a planet it must have three qualities. One it must orbit a Sun or Star of some kind. Second it must big enough for gravity to compress it into a big round ball. And lastly it must be big enough to pull neighboring objects into the planet itself or sling-shot them around the planet and shoot them off into outer space. The place for my planet is in the Triangulum Galaxy. The Triangulum Galaxy is a spiral galaxy about 2.7 million light years (25761569076837520000km)away from Earth. The solar mass of the Triangulum Galaxy is 50 billion Mʘ (standard unit of mass in Astronomy). This galaxy has about 40 billion stars which is 1/5th of how many there are in the Milky Way Galaxy. And 1/25th 's of the Andromeda Galaxy. The name of my planet is Frigusodayin (Cold Air)(Latin, Armenian). The first rule of classifying a planet states that it must orbit a Sun or Star. The Sun my planet will orbit is called WASP-56. Some properties of WASP-56 are that this star has an apparent magnitude of 11.48. Apparent magnitude is the brightness of an object as seen from Earth. The higher the apparent magnitude the brighter it is (Our Sun 's is 26.7). This star is a G6 star which is part of the G-Type main-sequence star group. The G-Type main-sequence star is a main sequence star of spectral type G and luminosity level V. These types of stars have about 0.8 to 1.2 solar masses. Solar masses being the mass of a sun or star
Below you will read research on stars and black holes. Black holes are stars whose core has been crushed by gravity. In the text to follow you will see how a star forms, read about its life and how it becomes a black hole.
Teenie, Tidbit, and Hushpuppy add color and flavor to life on the plantation. Teenie is a tiny middle-aged black woman who works as the master’s chief and main housekeeper (she oversees most of what is going on inside the house). Tidbit is Teenie’s son who has a dog named Hushpuppy. The trio keeps busy on the plantation doing their daily chores. They do not forget their ancestors and keep strong by remembering their past. Tidbit is still a little child and has fun while doing his tasks.
The Hubble Space Telescope is the first major telescope that was placed in space. It has been in operation for over twenty-five years, and has greatly changed our knowledge of the universe. It can observe galaxies and stars that are very far away since it is not blocked at all by light pollution and smog that obstructs the views of the telescopes on Earth. Hubble is fascinating because it was and still is the most revolutionary telescope since Galileo first looked through one over four hundred years ago. Hubble played a large role in helping scientists discover and learn about many things like dark matter and dark energy, the age of the universe, and gamma ray bursts. None of these discoveries would have been possible without Hubble’s unique view of the universe.
The solar system was created 4.6 billion years ago by a gravitational collapse. A solar system is a star that has planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and meteoroids travel around it. The solar system contains eight known planets which are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. There is around several hundred dwarf plants but only five are currently recognized. The solar system has about 181 moons which orbit around the planets in the solar system. There is also about 150 million asteroids and 3,406 comets also in the solar system.
1. The earth’s sun is a star, it generates heat and light through nuclear fusion.

One small raindrop creates ripples in a huge sea, similar to how one new idea can change the way people think. Across the Universe by Beth Revis demonstrates how this can happen when different societies cross. Amy, a teenage girl from Earth, is flash-frozen in order to be reanimated on another planet three hundred years away called Centauri-Earth. Unfortunately, she is melted earlier than she is supposed to, which results in her living on a ship with people who follow different rules and believe in different values. First of all, the ship’s civilization loses its power, as Amy’s knowledgeable character influences the population. Moreover, when the secret of freedom is revealed to the citizens of
I chose the Orion constellation because after doing some research, I found that the history of this constellation was very interesting. The Orion constellation looks like a man holding a weapon and a dead lion, so it was named after a hunter in Greek mythology. The Orion is located on the celestial equator and it consists of seven stars known as Betelgeuse, Rigel, Bellatrix, Mintaka, Alnilam, Alnitak, and Saiph, but it's brightest stars are Rigel and Betelgeuse. This constellation is most visible between January and March at evening time and can be seen all across the world.

Many scientist used telescopes to look at the planets and turned up the brightness. It helped showing how far the planet was and to show there are planets between the star and earth. Scientist started looking for pulsating stars and using them to find different planets. To find smaller planets scientist used NASA’s Kepler telescope. The telescope was very helpful for NASA and it proved that there are smaller planets. They figured out that some stars have planets. NASA’s help was very successful and they found different planets by the
Astronomy and Cosmology have always been an interesting subjects for me since I was little. The two units before this unit were somewhat new to me but weren’t filled with a colossal amount of information. When we arrived at this unit I thought it would be a review of what I had already knew about space, but really it was much more than just planets and stars. My knowledge and view of the universe has drastically changed after learning about various concepts like the Main Sequence, Cosmic Microwave Blackbody Radiation, and red or blue shifts. From this i’ve learned that what is happening here on Earth is nothing compared to what is happening to what is happening in the far reaches of space. There is so much going on in our universe and it
Looking far ahead into the future, it is clear that our natural resources will be scarce, and we will have over populated so much that most of our rainforests will be gone in order to house future humans. Despite our awareness of this closely approaching nightmare, we will do nothing relevant enough about it to change the direction of this disaster. The natural resources are diminishing while our population is exponentially increasing. We cannot assure future generations of an adequate supply of clean air, safe water, or a healthy food supply (“How Long Until We Have Nothing Left?” 6). It will be rare that someone gets to enjoy the great outdoors and the vibrant colors that come with it, because what once was the great outdoors is now a multi-million dollar housing complex. When this time comes, the drug industry will boom, giving people an escape from the dull and hopeless world around them. When under the influence of any kind of mind-altering drug, people find themselves at peace with themselves, and hopefully at peace with the world around them.
For my report I chose The Orion Nebula, the easiest celestial object to see at the time I went to the observatory back in March. This nebula harbors more than 3,000 stars that lie in a dusty region of mountains and valleys composed of mostly hydrogen. It is 1,500 light-years away and is the nearest star-forming region to Earth, making it the most effortlessly seen nebula of our skies (Hubble, 2006).
First, the size of the Milky Way's diameter Shapley is extremely large when Curtis, it is smaller. For Shapley, there can be no larger galaxies, for Curtis is the reverse.
The Hubble’s constant is a measure of the current expansion rate of the universe (1). Researchers have deduced that the expansion rate of the universe is found by the current density and composition it holds (1). Hubble’s constant is represented by H0; the equation use is 1/H0 (1). According to Hubble’s constant, it is around 72 km/sec/Mega parsec (1). Thus, approximately equals to about 13.77 billion years; give or take about 50 million years (1). However, researchers discovered that the universe is currently expanding slower than previous years; affecting the rate of the universe (1).
