The sequence and rate of each aspect of development from birth to 19 years can be broken down into 4 areas such as:
Physical development, intellectual development, communication development, social, emotional and behavioral development: 0-3 months
Babies can start to grasp things in their hands and are able to feed for e.g. by latching onto the motherâ€TMs breast they can suckle. The colors can be recognized. Babies start to look at the environment. Recognize parents and enjoy repetitive activities. Babies have no any verbal language at this age, babyâ€TMs starts to bond through attachment and skin to skin contact via feeding. They form a strong attachment with parentâ€TMs/carers. Tantrums may also start in babies.
Physical development, intellectual development, communication development, social, emotional and behavioral development: 3-9 months
This period is fast. There movements depends on the reflexes for e.g. sucking, grasping. At this stage babies have limited control of their bodies. The period of grasping certain colors and familiar noises and shape will be developing. The attachment and recognition with parents and siblings is stronger. Young babies start to form bonds of attachment with parents/carers. They can start to play with others. In the first year they gradually learn to support their heads and sit up with support.
Babies enjoy rhythm time and peek a boo games of hiding and repetition. The use of blurring and babbling will occur. The bonds with parents are
They enjoy playing and show it by smiling and squealing with delight. They are able to focus on an object and explore it if it seems interesting. Babies also start to show us that they understand a little of what we are saying and try to communicate with us.
Below I have explained the sequence and rate of each development from birth – 19 years old in great detail.
Emotional development; a child will develop a stung emotional attachment to carers/parents also to their toys i.e. a teddy bear. A child has basic emotions for example happy or sad and will start developing an understanding of others. Children will form relationships with other children and will developed skills such a sharing. A child will see differences in types of relationships between family and those in a formal setting.
Language Development: Put words together in a sentence and beginning to ask questions (What? Why? How? Who? Where?) can join in well known songs or verses and put actions to words (Row-Row-Row the boat) Could possibly be using several hundred words by 3rd birthday, can scribble and make marks on paper with a crayon.
Describe the expected pattern of children and young people’s development from birth to 19 years
Social and emotional development begins by showing affection and becoming attached to parents or carers and becoming what we usually call ‘clingy’. Young children may become distressed when a parent leaves the room or is not in sight. Slightly older children may demand attention and use tantrums to get their own way. They will generally be easily distracted from unwanted behaviour.
In the initial few months babies will recognise familiar voices and faces, they will try to 'people please' and bay for attention by performing for their audience through laughter and giggles. They will enjoy playing games with others such as peek a boo.

1. Explain the sequence and rate of each aspect of development from birth – 19years.
The physical development of a baby in its first six months of life shows limited range of movement but the beginnings of an ability to respond to stimulus around them. They show their reaction to people, sounds and movement by turning their head toward whatever attracts their attention. They will watch an adult’s face whilst feeding, but have already begun to shows signs of recognition as they will smile when familiar people are around them either because they can see them

As the babies begin to recognise people around them this has an impact on their emotional development as they can become distressed when people are not around.
