Ville 2G Through a deeper knowledge of three philosophical ideas, surrounding the events of life and the nature of humans, allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of Camus’ The Stranger. The Stranger does not only communicate the philosophical ideas of existentialism, but also the philosophical ideas of determinism, naturalism, and stoicism. Camus incorporates these three ideas in The Stranger, as they are all present in Meursault's character. Determinism is centered around the idea that anything that anything that could ever occur, will occur. This meaning that god, the universe, or any other supernatural force has planned out each moment of everyone’s life
