The checks and balances system provides equal rights and power to various different levels of governments. With that, this ultimately “balances” out all the rights and justices for each of the branches to prevent any dictatorship. The Federal Government consists of three branches; the Executive (President), the Legislative (Congress), and the Judicial (Supreme Court) branch. The Executive has the power to assign new judges that are later checked by the Senate (Congress). The Executive can veto any laws the Legislative creates. However, if 2/3 of the majority disagrees with the President’s denial, the Legislative branch is capable of overriding it. The political system of America is very different from other developed and developing democracies. Most notable is the increased power bestowed on the upper house of the parliament, the extensive power held by the Supreme Court and the dominance demonstrated by only two major parties. In the United States, third parties have the least influence on the world’s most developed democracy’s political structure. In this democracy, people are under the US Constitution of the governmental system as well as state government and other units of local government. Local government entails counties, districts and municipalities. The evolution of the American political party system has come a long way; with Hamilton and Jefferson being regarded as the founder fathers of the modern party system. These were heads of the Federalist and Anti-Federalist groups in the 18th century of American politics. Ever since, the country has maintained a party system that has two main parties that are relatively stable. These are Democrats and Republicans and have remained in contest for election every time since the 1860 presidential elections. Initially, the Republican Party was the dominant party but the Democrats later gained dominance. However, the two parties became closely competitive and neither of them has been notably dominant since the 1970s (O'Connor & Sabato, n.d).

The United States government was formed to create a democracy fit for the idea that they would be considered “land of the free.” Unfortunately, throughout the history of several world wide events, the intentions of the “forefathers” have strayed to manipulate events and people. The government has been accused for many past years of lying when main events strike the nation causing many tragedies as well as causing emotional anguish on the world. Many claims of false accusations are typically only made public after several years of sealed documents and evidence are put away, which indeed could be a conspiracy of its own. Conspiracies have been made throughout the course of many years for just about any event that occurs around the world. Conspiracies can vary anywhere from ludicrous to factual, there has been specific verifiable evidence to suggest that the events, 9/11, JFK assassination, and Gulf of Tonkin, as told, are not completely accurate.

Throughout history, the united states government had a good reputation with their people, but lately it has been fading away. The united states government has not live up to their reputation and trust with their citizens due to recent events. Now, the government feels like it has become more corrupt, and unfair towards their citizens. Many American citizens do not trust their government because of what the government stands for. For many of us, the government is all about power and money, so it 's hard for the common man to see the government 's point of view. Today, many Americans are firm believers that the federal government is constantly overreaching and causing citizens to feel harassed and mislead. The idea that the federal government has become overly powerful is exceedingly common throughout the United States. In many cases, the federal government does overstep by inappropriately using the power that they possess. However, there is a fine line between rebelling against the federal government for your own freedom and completely overlooking all of the same laws and rights that the rest of the American citizens are expected to abide by. The Cliven Bundy standoff is a 20-year legal dispute between the United States Bureau of Land Management and Cliven Bundy, who was illegally grazing his cattle on federally owned land in the southeastern Nevada area. Cliven Bundy’s disobedience was uncivil, and could have been handled in a much better way.

The United States government may not always be seen as a flawless group; however, it is generally more favorable than having corporations ruling over America. In Pills and Starships, Nat and her family do not have a stable government to rely on, and they are instead at the whims of the corps’ intense regulations, pharmacontrol, and sponsored massacres. The corps uses manipulation often in order to achieve their goal of rejuvenating the Earth so they can remain. There are three branches in the American Government system and they are the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, and Judicial Branch. These three branches were developed by our founding fathers to help and develop our country to what it is today.

The United States legislative branch of government is best described as ‘bicameral’ meaning “of two houses” where two governing bodies separately but functionally unitedly oversee the law-making duties of the country. The two houses of the legislative branch are the Senate and the House of Representatives which both have distinct but crucial duties regarding key decisions affecting anywhere from individual districts to the United States as a collective entity. Members of the House of Representatives and the Senate (altogether called ‘Congress’) belong to one of the two main American political parties; republicans or democrats. While a third party does exist they are substantially irrelevant in the current governing system. The third, independent, party does not achieve the popularity to be a representative heuristic of the people of America. By nature a democracy should reflect upon the needs and wants of the citizens of that democracy therefore bureaucrats in the House of Representatives and the Senate are appointed their seats in congress through direct election. The House of Representatives serves as a ‘representation’ of the population of a single district; a district being an area of a state divided evenly among other districts in the state based on population results from the U.S. Census. The United States federal government has one of the toughest jobs in the country. They are employed to rectify issues that seem to have no unblemished, concise answer. The American government is a vast system containing numerous of positions and specific job inscriptions. Upon these structures, the United States government beholds the Judicial, Legislative, and Executive branches in whom direct the nation’s ideals on specific topics. The government of the United States is divided into three parts- the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. The vast amount of control within this government is split between the aforementioned three branches; and is also known as power. Federal System is a political system that separates power between a central government, with the authority over the whole nation, and a series of state government. The constitution delegates some powers to the national government while leaving other powers to the state.
