Shared Vision – Buford Academy Vision Statement Buford Academy will intentionally invest in and develop technology leaders who will be purposeful, intentional, and responsible for remaining engaged in their own learning. By taking part in well-designed, meaningful learning experiences, these leaders will prepare themselves to compete globally. Students will also be provided opportunities that include distance learning, partnering with local businesses, internship experiences, and real life scenarios that encourage investigation and research through project based learning. On a scale of 1 (strongly disagree: – 5 (strongly agree): “I feel confident implementing and using the technology tools and devices available to me.” 6. Short Answer: “What area(s) of technology usage and/or implementation would you like additional professional development opportunities?” 7. Many of the stakeholders indicated that they were unaware a school technology vision statement. Similarly, they expressed that they felt as though they were excluded from the process of creating the shared technology vision. Almost all of the participants that answered the survey felt that they had access to connectivity and devices whenever they needed. More careers are expecting individuals to know at least the basics of technology and how to use technology efficiently. Schools, companies, communities and much more are affected positively once technology is incorporated within their systems. The Board of Education for the Rowan Salisbury Schools are fully aware of how twenty-first century technologies can affect the manner in which our teachers teach and our students learn. It is the goal of the district to provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere that is technologically rich. Providing every student and employee with access to these tools is meant to enhance and improve the learning experience that will ultimately improve the academic achievements of all of our students. The use of the District’s resources are not a right, but come with responsibilities for proper care and use of all district owned technology. Scores on most of the items in this dimension are high. High scores represent a positive attitude towards safety. The lowest score observed was on PA7 which questions about trade-off between getting a task completed and doing it by the book. With a mean score of (3.72) it shows disagreement among respondents as to how a task is completed according to their job. For instance, ATC respondents show that half of them agree there is a trade-off between getting a task done and doing it by the book, while the other half disagree with the statement. The highest score observed was (4.75) in PA1 which questions about safety procedures making their job safer. This shows that there is a strong agreement with the statement amongst respondents.
