Shared Vision – Buford Academy Vision Statement Buford Academy will intentionally invest in and develop technology leaders who will be purposeful, intentional, and responsible for remaining engaged in their own learning. By taking part in well-designed, meaningful learning experiences, these leaders will prepare themselves to compete globally. Students will also be provided opportunities that include distance learning, partnering with local businesses, internship experiences, and real life scenarios that encourage investigation and research through project based learning. On a scale of 1 (strongly disagree: – 5 (strongly agree): “I have adequate access to internet connectivity, technology tools, and technology devices.” 5. On a scale of 1 (strongly disagree: – 5 (strongly agree): “I feel confident implementing and using the technology tools and devices available to me.” 6. Short Answer: “What area(s) of technology usage and/or implementation would you like additional professional development opportunities?” 7. Short Answer: “In what area(s) of technology usage and/or implementation have you already experienced adequate professional learning?” 8. On a scale of 1 (strongly disagree: – 5 (strongly agree): “I have technical support available to me when I need help.” 9. On a scale of 1 (strongly disagree: – 5 (strongly agree): “I know, understand, and utilize the process for requesting help for technical issues that arise.” The results gathered were rather varied, however some common were identified. Many of the stakeholders indicated that they were unaware a school technology vision statement. Similarly, they expressed that they felt as though they were excluded from the process of creating the shared technology vision. Almost all of the participants that answered the survey felt that they had access to connectivity and devices whenever they needed.
