In the past 12 months the global community has witnessed many chaotic and tragic events, amidst all the craziness, the presidential race in the US remains to be one of the most critically important events that the world needs to keep a close eye on. Because it is an undeniable fact that the US has great influences in world affairs, and whoever gets elected to the office of President of the United States is a matter of concern not just among the American people but for other nations as well.
As a non US citizen, you get to see the whole ordeal unfold in a completely different light.
How does the 2 candidates look like in the eyes of non US citizens? For starters you have Trump, a man who has belittled most of his rivals while all through his campaign promoted racism, violence and other demeaning acts. Racism isn't just spreading in the States but also like a wildfire across other nations. The brexit deal, bred on hatred and controlled by fear, serves as a great example that goes to show how the racism ignited by the Donald Trump's campaign has influenced decision makers in other parts of the world. The influence of US politics can be seen through the rise of conservative right wing, a party whose policy and values doesn't attempt to adress the issue of social inequality and seems to favor aggressive attitude in dealing with foreign policy.

On the other hand, Hillary Clinton, the US democratic nominee, is a political figure who has recently been criticized for her alleged corruption, lies and most recently her e-mail
There has been a lot of tension towards her email scandal, and what she is hiding. There have been many controversial arguments and discussions over the subject. However, the fact of the matter is that Clinton’s emails were hacked and leaked by foreign intelligence and no one knows for sure what all she is hiding. After the hacking of her “private” server, investigators found that the evidence had been tampered with. Is this someone we can trust to represent our nation? Fox News said, a Navy vet asked Hillary, himself, “how can we trust you as our president”? It truly is a shame that someone this untrustworthy is in the elections (http://insider.foxnews.com)
In the United States of America the president is viewed as the most powerful and influential
Foreign Policy continues to be an important issue for the upcoming presidential elections. With recent events from ISIS, Russia, and Iran, this issue most likely will shape the decisions for voters at the poll. This issue will also be important for voters because the person that they vote into office will help make decisions that can affect numerous regions and/or groups around the world. Furthermore, as a result of globalization, anything that occurs overseas may have a drastic impact on our own economy. Consequently, this topic will grab voter attention when considering the
Terrorism, climate change, immigration and the like, all these are challenging issues for human beings to deal with. Being the world’s greatest state, however, the United State is still in its own survival hanging in the balance with social problems emerging one after another. Immigration, gender inequity, racial problems and controversies among different interests group are threatening the social identification of the United States. Facing with the conflicts between the rich and the poor, the elite and the mass, the white and colored people, the American society has a strong desire to have a powerful person who can reverse the current
As I write this book, Democratic and Republican candidates are getting in position to run for the President of the United States in 2016. Hillary Clinton was the first Democrat to throw her hat in the ring and right away the Republican Party began attacking her for using her personal email and business email together.
Hillary Clinton, Ted Cruz, Bernie Sanders; all renowned names due to the US presidential race, but by far the most controversial name involved in the race is Donald Trump. This republican candidate has been discussed and debated over due to what many call radical views. Throughout the race, Trump has become famous for his boisterous comments and remains the leading presidential candidate.
There is a characteristic of a Trump presidency that is a near constant when discussing the candidate: he can’t be bought. Or, if elected, Donald Trump would solve the most pervasive problem in American politics: oligarchy. Of course, so would a king.
The Trump Effect: The Impact of the Presidential Campaign on Our Nation’s School. Southern Poverty Law Center. 2016.
As a business mogul, television personality, bestselling author, and the current presidential nominee of the Republican Party, Donald Trump is constantly working to improve America and is the most influential American in the last 60 years. Since Mr. Trump has started running in the 2016 Presidential Race, his platform has shown how he plans to “make America great again” through his opinions on women, religion, torture, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) rights. During his candidacy, Trump has expressed that for certain jobs women “wouldn’t have [the] job if [they] weren’t beautiful,” that when the military “put[s] men and women together” sexual assault should be expected, and that women are “dependent on their sex appeal”. All
For thirty years, Hillary Clinton has been in the public eye. Beginning as the First Lady of Arkansas to being the First Lady of the Nation for eight years, with another eight years as a Senator, and then becoming Secretary of State, she has done little other than polarize people. A few unimportant bills passed in New York and creating even more chaos in the Middle East than was already there has not helped her advance in any way. This woman has been the nation’s mascot for corruption and has taken corruption to new heights. From the Clinton’s Foundation ‘Pay to Play’ to the four dead bodies left dead in Benghazi, she has made it crystal clear that she has one concern for this country: herself. Every election is important to our country. Elections
Let’s not forget who is accusing her the most: the Republicans. They hold Hillary Clinton to a very high standard and they are not doing so to their own candidates. The Republicans are desperate to take down Hillary Clinton and they will do anything they can to do so. According to the Washington Post, the Republicans are bombarding Hillary Clinton with questions about her two emails, then they should ask those same questions to Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney. Jeb Bush, as governor of Florida, used his private email to discuss troop deployments to the Middle East and Mitt Romney deleted all of his emails that were sent during his administration as governor from the government servers. Basically, using private emails and deleting other emails is not only associated with one party. In the end, the Republicans are trying to blow this out of proportion for their own
With the looming election drawing ever closer the parade of losers (candidates) has come down to the final two. Only one can become President and only one can keep the title of presidential candidate. Over the past year the country has seen over 20 different people attempt to become the leader of the free world; and they are all the same. At the very least they are similar, and by default very easy to categorize.
Every four years, the incumbent president’s term ends and Americans are left with the difficult but massively important choice of who to elect as the next leader of their country. In these elections, though there are many crucial proceedings that occur, two of the most important events are the national conventions that each party holds between their primary elections and the presidential election. The national conventions are so important because during them, each political party nominates their candidate for the upcoming election and gives that candidate a chance to talk to the American people and try to persuade them to vote for him or her. This year’s conventions have set the stage for the election that will occur in a few months, so it
Hillary Rodham Clinton, one of the most influential women made her mark especially in the world of politics. She was the runner-up Democratic nominee in the 2008 election, and was the Democratic nominee for the 2016 election; however she fell short of becoming president to Republican nominee Donald Trump. Still, she was the first woman to top the presidential ticket of an major party. Previously, Hillary Clinton was the senator of New York from 2001 to 2009 She was also the Secretary of State under President Obama’s administration 2009 to 2013. She is not a stranger to these high positions. To add onto to her success in these strenuous positions, she has been in the White House before under Bill Clinton’s administration from 1993 to 2001.
As the United States prepares for the coming presidential race in 2016, circumstances throw into question which qualities a candidate should possess in order to be successful and make a positive impact on the nation. Looking into the past, one can surmise that the best leaders must be brave, and filled with indomitable courage, compassion, and hope. The president is one leading millions and making key decisions which have enormous ramifications. As the leader of a nation, he or she speaks out in times of joy and crisis, setting the tone for the entire government body.
