What comes to mind when society hears the word, God? Dictionary.com defines God as “the one Supreme Being, creator, and Ruler of the Universe.” To me, I know God as Yahweh, the Jewish and Christian deity. I believe in Yahweh because he protects me every day, and when I turn to him for help, he is always there for me. There are others who view God as Allah or Buddha. At one time, they even saw Zeus this way, but I’m not here to really focus on the side with which everyone is familiar. Dictionary.com also defines God as “something that is regarded or treated as a God”. God can be the ultimate ruler of all things, the statue of Buddha made of stone, or even a smartphone.
I have arrived here in the US. It was hard to move here, with the consent fear of being caught with anyone, but it went smoothly with any of the paperwork that had happen with the organization. The United States seems to be a beautiful place with the sunlight kissing my skin, the warm feeling feels great. I now know I am same.
Truth, what is truth? This question itself has a thousand answers, no person can ever be sure of what truth is rather, truth can be justified, it can checked for reliability with strong evidences and logic. If the evidence proves to be accurate then it can be established that a certain answer is the truth. However, have we ever tried to think about what intrigues us to seek the truth? To think about a question and set foot firmly on the path of knowledge. Definitely it has! That was the very cause itself which is why this world has witnessed some of the greatest philosophers like Aristotle, Plato and Socrates etc. along with the school of thought. The ability to think and reason is one of the greatest ability humans have, it is what

As nervous as I was going through the steps of naturalization, I finally became a U.S citizen. The steps I took was declaring my intent to come here, the fingerprinting process, the interview and test, and last the oath. I’ve been discriminated for being here but it slowly has gotten better. I’m going to continue my new life as a new U.S
There are many different views about the nature of god and which lense one chooses to view religion or spirituality. The nine that will be discussed are animism, polytheism, henotheism, pantheism, religious dualism, deism, theism, atheism, and agnosticism. While some of these have overlapping principles, they are each unique viewpoints as of the nature of god and are held by different religions throughout the world today and in history.
Edwards’ sermon demonstrated how powerful God truly is and how he can control your fate. In the beginning, he says that Israelites are always exposed to destruction. Therefore, he is vulnerable to many things without knowing. “ There is nothing that keeps wicked men at any one moment out of hell but the mere pleasure of God”, in other words, one must please God in order to go to heaven. Those who don’t follow the religion are considered to serve the devil himself. Edwards then shows and gives examples to present how powerful and terrifying God’s judgement is like. God’s hand is like a barrier that prevents a person from going straight to hell. If he were to let go of the person, the person would fall. He doesn’t have mercy among the sinners
I realize the nature of this topic is likely to garner the contempt of many. I respectfully ask that you spare me any personal attacks. I sincerely want to discuss this topic. I am not motivated to do so out of a desire to disrespect anyone or their beliefs. Rather, I desire this discussion as a chance to share ideas.
What Christ means to me is that he is true God and true man because the Bible tells us so. He is true man because he had a human body and soul with human characteristics. He is also true man because he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He is true God because he has the power to do Godly things. He redeemed me and paid the price for my sins by dying on the cross. He died so we wouldn't have to be punished for our sins by going to hell. It was necessary for Him to be true man so he could die for us and save me by his death. It was also necessary for him to be God to keep God’s law perfectly and to provide salvation to everyone who believed in him.
Foremost, to be human means that geography can influence an individual and possibly one's community. In To A God Unknown, Joseph moves from California from Vermont. He develops a ranch over the time he is there. He worships the land and is able to provide a home for his three brothers. The land become a small community. Joseph became so influenced by the land he ended up killing himself as a sacrifice for it. When Joseph kills himself, it starts raining. All the townspeople celebrated by dancing and music. Father Angelo decided not to celebrate, but to think of Joseph. He remembered Joseph asking him to pray for the land and for rain to come. Joseph never prayed for himself or others, just for the land. Father Angelo thought of Joseph and “how
Divinity what it means to me. What does it mean? What makes someone divine? Their heart of gold? Their riches? When I hear the word 'Divine' I think of a God or Goddess like figure. Someone who is strong, beautiful, fearless, and empowering. Someone who is not afraid to stand against the crowd. Someone who can show bravery in any tough situation. Instead of backing down when the world is against them, they continue to stand strong and powerful. They get their beauty not from only looks but from their confidence and love. I have come to the realization that anyone with the right mindset can be divine. It just takes some will-power and courage. I see people who are divine in this world even from small acts of kindness. The tall strong man who
Leibniz asserts God as the most perfect, wise, and supreme being of the whole universe. With that assertion, Leibniz derives his meaning of life: to learn more and be in awe about God’s perfect creation and to strive to be more perfect like God. Yet, how can we assert that there truly is a God. If God is infinite and we are finite, we are infinitely away from God and there is no way for us to reach Him.
The existence of God has been in question for as long as mankind has existed and thought logically. Many questions have plagued the human mind in regards to God, and there have been many arguments drawn with the hopes of proving the existence of a supreme being whom we know as God. The “God” question has been presented to every individual at some point in their lives. It is a topic that will bring forth never-ending questions and an equal amount of attempted answers. Many philosophers have formulated different rationales when examining the topic of God, some of which include how the word itself should be defined, what his role is in human existence, whether or not he loves us, and ultimately, if he even exists at all. Mankind cannot
Everyone has a thought or an opinion on how the world should be. God is the ultimate reality, providing truth and love to comfort the world in during the dark times. Today, the western world “guarantees nothing” (sire, 2009). Human nature is perplexing. We must face the source of human problems and work toward a solution. We read in Romans 12:2 (NIV) “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”. I am continually asking God to restore me to the joy of his salvation and grant me a willing spirit. I also ask Him to sustain me so that I may teach transgressors His way, and so that sinners will
