The freight revenue is the income or revenue gained through the transporting of cargo, freight or passengers. We sometimes think of freight revenue on in terms of cargo that needs to be moved between two ports, but the passenger cruise-liner business is a very lucrative and booming business earning millions of US Dollars for vessel owners. If cargo is rated as weight (metric tons = 1 ton = 1,000 kilogram) or volume metric (cubic meters, CBM) whichever produces the highest revenue will be considered the Revenue Ton (RT) on which the shipment is freighted. Weights are based on metric tons and measures are based on cubic meters.
For the total revenues for each vessel the freight rates for Tapioca and for manufactured goods are multiplied with the amount of tons that are moved from one harbour to the other.
Prejudice is when we have a preconceived opinion about someone or a group of people that is formed without knowledge, or even a real understanding about them.
Every year, college football fans become engrossed with the weekly rankings released after the weekend’s games. Unsurprisingly, the standings often attract much criticism when a team is not placed as high as the fans feel it should be. Three of the most well-known ranking systems, based on algorithms as well as voting, include the Associated Press Poll, the Coaches Poll, and the College Football Playoff rankings. Often, there are discrepancies between each of these polls and fans are quick to make claims of bias when one poll ranks their team lower, or a rival team higher. However, in some cases, the bias claims are not necessarily false. Due to the nature of the polling system, a certain level of bias is simply unavoidable, and a more effective ranking system can only attempt to minimize this bias.
Anti-bias education is important for young children because children begin to recognize differences early on in life. (Derman-Sparks) My current understanding of anti-bias education for young children is to teach the children how to accept diversity and respect the differences between each other. I believe an anti-bias education provides the children with the opportunity to gain a sense of self along with feeling reassurance with other differences. As a future educator of young children, I need to be mindful that children create their attitudes and identities through interactions related to different experiences, such as their bodies, cognitive developmental stage, and their social environment. (Derman-Sparks) The variety of biases that exist in the children’s world need to be addressed in order to teach the children how to think critically about fairness; therefore, the children can learn how to oppose the bias. (Derman-Sparks) Likewise, my views about anti-bias education have changed because of the innovative information presented to me. I knew an anti-bias curriculum was essential for young children, but I did not know how important it truly was. My views of an anti-bias education mainly focused on holidays because I knew it would not be appropriate to only celebrate the holidays from one culture or religion. My views about anti-bias education grew because I understand that the overall goals of an anti-bias education are to enable the children to think
Moral - “Racism to day looks different from the racism of 50 year ago.” (Unconscious Bias) - Just yesterday, we had discipline meeting with two students who were carrying on racially charged conversation based on a snap chat story. They saw nothing wrong with it, regardless of how those in their group felt hearing it. In the end, I am not sure we made much of a difference in their world view.
They blame it on me somebody had stole something from one of the houses and without any prove they
Bias is present in almost all media outlets and sources, making the truth seem increasingly difficult to find. Media does not seem to adhere to the old saying, “honesty is the best policy”. Instead a large portion of the media thrives on intentionally altering the truth to get the audience to react or believe in a certain way. The coverage of hurricane Katrina was no different, although the bias may have been harder to notice. But what was the purpose of using bias while covering a natural disaster, and how does that bias affect the audience
In modern politics and media, issues are often unnecessarily blown out of proportion and stigmatized through misinformation. Source A details this extensively, citing the prevalence of fear campaigns and misinformation to manipulate viewers. In the past, news was often simply factual and impartial. However, fear and bias are common forces behind coverage today. Recently, a news anchor claimed in a nationally televised interview that “We’re already in World War III,” hyperbolically and without basis, simply to scare viewers into listening. Source D illustrates this issue with a viewer simply turning off hysterical news coverage when asked “What can we do to lessen the grip of fear from terrorism?” This political cartoon implies that the fear striking America from modern issues such as terrorism and immigration is
This was the result I received the fourth time taking the implicit biased test. the first three times, I cheated. By “cheated,” I mean that I altered how long it took me to answer each question. Those three times I cheated, my results showed up “inconclusive”. The reason I altered the way I took the test was because I was selfish. I was so afraid of a possibility of me appearing racist, I refused to let my subconscious take over my answers. The fourth time I took the test, I finally gave in. I realized that if not appearing racist was that important to me, I would have to come to terms with what my subconscious is telling me. So I didn’t time
As I began to consider the biases and prejudices that could hinder me from being able to empathize with clients I realized my biases are mostly rooted in the traits and personalities of those whom I feel have wronged me. I feel I have biases towards bullies and those who play the victim. On top of this I feel I have prejudices towards any who are morbidly obese and child abusers. I believe I can change change these biases and prejudices, but I believe it will take hard work and therapy to work through them.
Everyone has a bias, even I do. Biases shape the world as all they do is change how people think and there is sometimes no known reason on why people have biases. I don’t know why I guess a person's personality because of their face but I do it. Biases are very interesting to talk about because there is not a lot to know from them but the impact our world more than we think.
Bias perceptions are created by the media The media labels degrading tags on sex workers The Korean society follows the media’s view The Korean culture belittles prostitutes The Korean culture does not judge customers Sex workers work in unsafe environments
Behaviorism is made more difficult when there are no good behaviors known of, or sought out, to be nurtured. The fact that none are known indicates not the qualities of the person, but instead the biases of the observers. An indication of self-bias in the majority should raise serious concerns; because this manner of judgement is not linear, but rather shows network effects with feedback and self-reinforcing dynamics—and so the magnitude of the bias of the “many” can be difficult to accurately
Self-serving biases means the person will personal credits on their own success while reproaching the outside source when they fail the certain stuff. This tendency to misremember events in a particular direction is one of the strategies that people use to feel good about themselves (Sanderson, 2010).
Today, container ships are used as major transport method between countries, and most of products, which are called dry cargo such as daily products, processed food, timbers and metals, are transported by container ship.
