When I was young I never put serious thought into what I wanted to be when I grew up. I made up silly dreams like being a wrestler or a monster truck driver, but I could not see myself pursuing any of these professions. It was not until my junior year in high school that I started to think more in-depth about where I saw myself in ten years. I began to take criminal justice classes at a technical school and explored the different jobs within. Two years later I am in college and I am no longer pursuing a job in the criminal justice field. My decision to change my profession was unnerving, but I know that I have made the right choice. I am a Mass Communications major with a concentration in journalism. I have a great fascination for music, but
For my career I chose to be a cop. I want to be a cop because I want to work outside and inside. I also want to be a cop because you get paid well. Some of my relatives are police officers and I want to do what they do. I like to make people do the right thing.
The Criminal Justice system has captivated my desires in choosing this as my career choice. As I learned what it meant to achieve a career goal, I selected Criminal Justice. The reasoning I chose Criminal Justice was because law enforcement appeared interesting and my mother and godfather work within the system.
I get asked the same question all the time, why do you want to be in law enforcement? My answer: This world has far too many bad people out there and not enough good people. I want to fight the good fight, the best way I know how. By helping the people in my community. With each person I help I hope to spark a change in not only their lives but the lives of those around them. This spark will turn into a flame and then a burning fire of hope, that spreads across this world. This is my

Criminal justice provides such a wide variety of subjects that finding a job in the industry is relatively easy it also affords criminal justice students a wide leeway when they are searching for jobs. Criminal justice degree jobs can range from law enforcement to the judicial arena, allowing students to pick and choose how much education they wish to fulfill over the course of their lives. Many choose to go the law route and spend a few more years in law school to become defense attorneys while others realize they can use their criminal justice degree in the courthouse without a J.D. by simply becoming a court reporter, court coordinator, clerk, or bailiff. While these jobs all require experience, it’s not as demanding as becoming a defense
I have currently received my associates of science degree in criminal justice from Southwest Tennessee Community College. I decided to further my education and obtain my bachelors degree in criminal justice to explore more opportunities. I believe that going back to school will help give me the tools necessary to excel as a criminal justice professional. When I was in high school criminal justice was always something I was interested in learning about. I wanted to know more about the criminal justice system and how cops, courts, and corrections operate with one another. Once I enter into the criminal justice field and begin working as a professional with my bachelors I will become more remarkable to employers. This degree will also give me
I would strongly recommend that there be ongoing ethical training to be utilized during my criminal justice career. I do not think this can be visited too often. I think coming up with new and realistic scenarios that are worked through as a group could help strengthen everyone’s knowledge on how to handle the issues that can come up at that agency.
One physically taking a hit leaves scars, however, one witnessing without having the courage to help scars you mentally. Before I knew how great life can be I have been exposed to great pain of almost losing my father at the age of 5. He was brutally attacked and almost beaten to death by 7 African American men with no mercy. While hiding in the bushes the sight in front of me was horrific. I was puzzled, unable to even blink or shed a single tear, seen the sight in front of me was my father’s blood pouring out of his head. As I stood at the hospital recalling the event, I promised myself that under no circumstances would I ever what to undergo the same situation.
My mother (as any mother) would begin asking me questions about my plans after high school. “Do you have an idea on what job you are interested in”. "What college are you thinking about "? Before then, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. My mind was as blank as the paper I am writing on. Whenever I was with my dad, he would always tell me to find the job that you will enjoy doing every day. The only thing that came to mind that I could be is a teacher like my mother, a forensic scientist or detective, like the ones I saw on television every day after school. At that moment, I was still unsure on which one I should be, until I woke up finding out on social media that a close friend of mine has passed away and till this day whoever killed him is still out there. Ever since then I knew what I wanted to do, all I can see myself doing later in life: investing in a position in the law

I would like to join the police force because I like the feeling of keeping the server safe and civs safe. Also whenever I arrest someone or help a guy out as an officer it makes wanna keep on pushing myself to become a better officer and help more people. As a cop I would respond to all calls that are needed, I would help out any police officer who needs repaired or needs backup. I will always stop and help a civ out by giving them a medkit or even by giving them a repair kit. You always have to respect the civs. I also have a really good shot with my gun an I figured I should use that shot for the good not the bad. Any people who try to threat my life a civ life or a fellow police mans life I will deal with them. Being a cop is all ive really
I was medically cleared to reenlist in the Military a few years ago, however at the time I decided to pursue a career in local law enforcement. Ever since I was separated during basic training with being close to completing it bothered me some. As a current sophomore student in the forensic science program at SUNY Alfred State, my future career goals include becoming a criminalist, the person responsible for conducting the scientific analysis performed on physical evidence. It would include tasks such as performing genetic marker testing and analysis, as well as interpreting DNA results and ensuring the integrity of evidence. My career goal is what fuels my determination for participating in the CUNY Summer Undergraduate Research Program, specifically Structural Biology. With no prior research experience, I believe that the CUNY Summer Undergraduate Research Program would be the perfect place to begin a more specified path towards becoming a criminalist. My career goal includes spending
Everyone has given thought to what they want to be when they grow up. Ever since I was little all the way until high school I just wanted a job that made me the most successful and gave me the greatest sum of money. I never really thought about getting a job that actually meant something special to me, until I attended an event that changed my whole life, the Special Olympics.
