Everyone has a dream. Whether it is to have a family, or even to become a psychiatrist, a dream is present in everyone. Those dreams are mainly referred to as “American Dreams.” Hard work is needed to be able to get anywhere in life. The American Dream is attainable if one is willing to put in the work to achieve it. Though it may be hard, achieving the American Dream is attainable. Anna Quindlen states, “A mongrel nation built of ever changing disparate parts, it is held together by a notion, the notion that all men are created equal…” (Staff 2010) All men are created equal, therefore every person has the chance to achieve the American Dream. Quindlen also states, “This is a national founded on a conundrum… characterized as ‘community added
Through hard work and dedication the American Dream may still be attainable. The dream of all Americans is a crucial thread in the country’s tapestry woven through politics, music and culture. This thread is what gives all humanity the drive to excel in anyway possible. Money ,jobs, education, careers, and relations will help Americans work towards the dream they have built for
Dreams are merely your own fantasies living within your mind. The American Dream is anything you believe it to be, all depending on each individual's mentality. If there was a better way of saying this, it would be like this: “Never let it be said that to dream is a waste of one’s time, for dreams are our realities in waiting. In dreams, we plant the seeds of our future” (unknown). The American Dream is a misconception for the ways that society has portrayed it to be. As how society paints a portrait in the minds of people, that America is only about freedom and equality where life comes easier than it does in other countries. There is no right way to fulfill the American Dream. For some it may be to simply emigrate to the U.S, to provide a better life for
America provides opportunity to achieve the American Dream yet so many argue that it is impossible today. The American Dream consists of having opportunity to be someone financially stable and having success in your life. It is a long road to the American Dream with many obstacles on the way. Everyone is given an opportunity to start, with education being free. It is up to the person to decide whether they will continue their education to open more opportunities for their future. The American Dream is a reality that can be achieved today through hard work, self-perseverance and motivation to succeed.
“Everyone always says that anything is possible, but some things in life just can’t be reached. Sometimes your dreams just can’t be achieved.” (Carl Johnson) All humans living in America have dreams. These could all easily be described as the American Dream. The American Dream can frequently change from time to time due to the time period. It can also change due to the age of the person at hand. Children grow up having these dreams, but who knows how long these dreams will last. Some elderly people develop new dreams or are still chasing to fulfill the dreams they’ve had since they were much younger. These dreams are all things that people want and desire to have. Some of these dreams are unrealistic and could never happen.
Achieving the American Dream is like fighting over the last TV on Black Friday. The American Dream is very limited. A person has to have a certain background to achieve it. The American Dream is an illusion. America wants one to believe that they have the perfect set of materialistic things to make their life better. The American Dream consist of having money, a nice house, a great looking car, and a family. Not everyone can achieve that though because of the barriers that they have in this country. The American Dream is not achievable by all people because individual’s divergent backgrounds.
The “American Dream” is a complicated topic to discuss. It has many different meanings depending on who you’re talking to. To me it means to have a healthy and happy family with a nice house and to do what I love to do. For many people their dream or even my dream is not attainable. I do not think that the “American Dream” is attainable for everyone. Some people do not have the perseverance or are not born into a situation where they can get an education. Some people may have that drive or the education or talent needed to accomplish what they want.
As citizens of America, we all work towards acquiring one thing: The American Dream. The American Dream is something that most citizens of America try their hardest to attain at least some point in their life time. This dream may include but is not limited to, wanting to reach a certain social class, having a safe country with strong military forces, and also wanting to “fit in”, or to find his or her’s place in life. Also, this dream may or may not look similar to the American dream you want to inquire. While most of us desire to attain most of the things listed above, some of us always dream of having a nation where the color of your skin and social standards do not define who you are as a person. However, while citizens may want these things, not all of America may agree with each other. A question that has merged into our minds is, “ is the American dream attainable?”
The American Dream is the belief where any American can be successful when completing hard work. Do you believe that the American Dream is achievable? Is it guaranteed for both natural-born Americans and immigrants? The American Dream is a definite reality because the United States is a country that allows various opportunities for individuals to work for what they want and access prosperity while doing so.
The reality of the American Dream is that people are capable of succeeding. Success, though, requires one to work hard and be dedicated to
The American Dream is a concept without a true definition, but is tossed around as a cornerstone of our society. Most see the dream as showing off the achievements of our people, but this idea of focusing only on our successes disregards the failure and struggle that everyone endures to even witness the light of success. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, they attempt to define the American Dream as "a happy way of living" achieved by "working hard and becoming successful." Contradicting the definition above, many people in this nation are not given equal treatment or equal access to opportunity. Success is not necessarily achieved in the states through the equal opportunity for people of differing races, ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic situations, and people lacking the proper connections to be able to easily enter into different establishments without the proper credentials.
A dream is not obtainable through waiting. It is obtained by many factors. With many dreams come trials that must be passed. The main obstacles of the American dream include race, the time period and dedication.
According to many, the American Dream is still growing and prospering, but in order for one to achieve it they must possess the traits of determination, perseverance, and collaboration. We went around the school and interviewed some of our teachers in order to gain knowledge on the subject of how people in this society are achieving the American Dream. When the teachers were interviewed about social mobility, both of them said that at at least one point in their lives, they had to persevere through tough times. For example, Mrs. Kroboth said, “When I first got out of the air force there was an obstacle because of my career set skills set that I had and the jobs available at the time didn’t really match up”. At that time, she had to develop a whole new set of career skills through hard work to find an available job in the current society.
The “American Dream” has always been the same. You start from nothing and then you eventually grow and become successful in life. One must have to work hard in order to be successful. However, some people have more options than others that would lead them to success much easier and quicker. Although this dream sounds achievable, there are are many obstacles that will come in the way
The American Dream is a highly believed in idea. Some people receive luck and achieve the dream quite quickly and easily. On the other hand, others never actually attain the dream. Sometimes people construct decisions based on their emotions instead of what would benefit them the greatest. The life situation you are born into does not matter but it requires an abundance of work to cause it to happen. The American Dream will not be achieved by the people who don’t strive and put the effort and time to earn the dream. The amount of effort needed to obtain the dream varies from person to person, but no one person will ever say it was easy. People need to be able to adapt to their surroundings to make achieving the American Dream a possibility.
The road to success is not easy to navigate, but with hard work, patient and united, it's possible to achieve the American dream and American Dream requires that we are all provided an equal opportunity to participate in and contribute to our nation.
