Widener University was a pioneer in the country to offer DPT; with years of thriving. An exceptional quality Widener has to offer is hands on practice with patients and clients beginning in our first semester. This quality is different than vast majority of the other schools that offer this program because other schools offer hands on experience in second year. Widener’s early hands on practice ultimately will help me enter the field with more experience. Wanting to go back to Punjab, India after my years of studying for Physical Therapy, to the village where my dad had spent his childhood. Conversely at SHU, I have visited our DPT students every year across the country as they interned in various clinical environments. Nevertheless, being rooted within the MSI, OMT, and bio-psychosocial framework would define my more than 25 years of (20 years in musculoskeletal) PT practice experience. Graduating with a DPT degree from USC, I am a fellowship-trained, board certified (OCS since 1999) Full Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) since 2003, having graduated from the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Manual Therapy Fellowship program. Notwithstanding having an “in press” commentary and “under review” revised manuscript, I have 2 JOSPT (heralding 2 new techniques or treatment approach paradigms) and 1 Journal of Hand Therapy published journal articles and authored/co-authored almost 40 peer-reviewed orthopaedic and manual PT presentations nationally [Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) and AAOMPT] and internationally (World Confederation for Physical Therapy and the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapist). Anchored in clinical reasoning, OMT, MSI, bio-psychosocial
Southern New Hampshire University is a company and its product is producing competent students who will be ready for the working world. Management at Southern New Hampshire University starts with the Administration and their collective guidelines on everything from the teaching curriculum to practices and policies that keep the SNHU company running efficiently. Once the top level administration is content with the current business model those instructions are passed down to the "department heads" or deans of their respective vein of schooling. The local deans then hand the necessary information on down to the teachers. Every single link in the management chain is as important as the next. The teachers are expected to effectively teach the approved

The DPT physical therapy program at New York Medical College presents rigorous courses with a strong problem based curriculum. Facing challenges allow for personal growth and equips one with the tools needed to overcome more complex challenges in the future. Many unforeseen obstacles will be faced in this intense program, but I am willing to take the first step in overcoming this feat.

I recently traveled to a less fortunate community on a PT-based medical mission trip. It left me with a taste of utmost sadness but yet it gave me a gratifying and exhilarating feeling. Helping individuals in challenging circumstances (such as those who have not walked in years) experience optimal movement with my assistance motivates me to become a physical therapist. The development of primitive braces like AFO’s, robotic limbs, and movement stimulation devices fascinate me because they help those who would normally be confined to a sedentary lifestyle experience “typical human movement.” As a physical therapist, my level of devotion to patients such as those I saw on my mission trip and those with whom I have helped in the clinical setting would never waiver. I would strive to provide genuine care and attentiveness to patient’s needs and goals. I look forward to facilitating research and evidence based methods of treatment which promote maximum results for patients that subsequently allows them to return to their activities of daily living. I have personally (via work, my own therapy experience, and observation hours) witnessed the incredible effects physical therapy can evoke on ones life. I would be honored to fulfill the role as someone's PT and mentor through their injury, chronic condition, litigation, or neurological
I chose Kent State University after a lot of thought and decisions were made during my Senior year of school. I always had known that i wanted to enter the healthcare field and after looking into multiple jobs i had chosen to get a MSN and choose a career in Nurse Anesthesia. This meant that first i needed my BSN, and after speaking to many of my High School teachers, as well as my at the time college professors, they highly recommended Kent State for their Nursing program. I than began to look at the University, read about it from their website, as well as comments and suggestions from online forums from both current and ex-students. All of which recommended the university, and current nurses who have graduated from KSU said that the University
Briar Cliff University is one of a kind, all the universities in Iowa would be jealous of the beautiful campus. The exterior, of the buildings are impressive with a Romanesque and Doric style. With one glance, anyone can tell the the construction workers took a life time to create a master piece of architecture. The Lady Grace building is next to Heelan Hall. The windows of our Lady Grace Chapel are vibrant and colorful bringing so much energy and natural light to the building. The atrium is my favorite place, it’s inside Heelan Hall and next to Java City. The atrium is designed like a Broadway stage and filled with enthusiastic students that are eager to show the world how smart they are. The plants in front of Baxter-DiGiovanni Center are
When looking at the variety of physical therapy degree programs, I wanted to enroll in a school that would provide me with one of the most pristine and advanced educational experiences in the physical therapy field. I wanted to enroll in a school that not only provided me with knowledge in the classroom but also within the clinical setting as well. Being a part of a program that enhances the learning experience outside of the classroom with peers and professionals is the perfect setting for me because I will be able to gain hands-on experiences that I would not experience anywhere else. After conducting an abundance of research I came to the conclusion that the University of Evansville’s Department of Physical Therapy program is a program that will provide me with all of these needs and
