Gospel Essentials
When you look around and gaze at the beautiful creation before you, do you reflect on how amazing God is? God made the creation, man, and everything surrounding the two. There are many different worldviews. This paper will focus on the Christian worldview. The Christian worldview involves God, humanity, Jesus, and restoration.
The Christian Worldview
God
Can God truly be defined? Yes and no! It is important to know the facts about God which one can get from studying the Bible. Secondly, it is important to fellowship with God to get to know Him on a personal and intimate level. There are so many characteristics of God as He was and is perfect in all

Things change when the serpent appeared to Eve and talked her into eating from the exact tree that God commanded them to eat from. Genesis 3:6 says, “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate” (NIV). This is where the root of all human problems began. This is why all humans are born as sinners.
Jesus
Hebrews 1:2-3 says, “But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven” (NIV). In an article in The Christian Crier, author Jack Wellman gives a great description of Jesus.
God became a Man and that Man was in Jesus Christ Who was both God and Man. He lived in all splendor, glory, and majesty while in heaven but condescended to be born in a lowly stable in the most humble of beginnings. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and was murdered even though He was completely innocent. He willingly gave His life so
One of the first major points that describes who Jesus Christ is how he displays the “…image of the invisible God…” however, he is God but in human form being Christ. He reflects the nature of his father, God. His son, Jesus, is the image of God. He is “… the firstborn of all creation” meaning that
The term “worldview” refers to an accumulation of core beliefs, which influence the understanding man has of the world. Because a worldview refers to individual beliefs, everyone’s worldview is different. The Christian worldview is based off of the Holy Bible, and because of that, God shapes the way Christians understand the world around them. However, the Bible is not the only influence that Christians are exposed to, and they must constantly monitor their worldview to be certain that it does not stray from the truth in God’s Word. If Christians are able to identify some key beliefs that are in the Bible, it can make the task of monitoring their worldview easier. The beginning of the Bible, the Creation, is one of these foundational beliefs
We can see this through the “word of God thus this acted consistently in assuming a body and using a human instrument to vitalize the body” (Athanasius 36). We can also see Jesus in the beginning of time as a human being our light to guide us on our ways, being out creation, and most off all bringing creation into the world. This is seeing by “in the beginning, nothing as yet existed at all, all that was needed, therefore, in order to bring all things into being, was that his will id do so should be made signified” (Athanasius 35) thought his words and actions.
Let’s begin with addressing that fact that the Son was not a creature. The Son was God in the flesh. He walked upon earth to spread the gospel and bring salvation to a sinful world. The prophet Isaiah even writes about the Son before he was born. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). The Son was more than flesh, he was the fullness of God.
Many people, including myself ask themselves everyday, who God is. You can never completely describe him is indescribable. God is a loving and forgiving God, he is beautiful and everything about him is. God exist because the Bible says so, we can see his existence through his creation. God is the one who created everything and he control every bite of it. God is a spirit; he cannot be seen by the naked eyes. He’s sovereign, Malakai 3: 6 says that,
[00:00:00] God's love of song that spans both testaments and all time and it is this that in Christ Jesus we receive a love letter written in human flesh and blood from God from the God who created the vast cosmos from the beginning and continues to sustain the universe. Even now God is not was God is a God of creating of creation and recreation. And this is good news. This is the good news that our God has not stayed stagnant because not inactive is not uncaring. Now you see God the God of all people all of created in creation is still God and God offers us newness and possibilities not just do Overdick but but fresh clean new lives. [48.4]
Then in the NT, God further condescends to us in human form in Christ to be even more completely known to believers, then consummated in heaven with “Eden Restored” as in Rev. 22:4. God the only true God, spirit, eternal, omnipresent, infinite, unchangeable, all-knowing/perfect/wise/glorious is also known to believers as completely faithful, ever seeking us and in our praises Hallelu-JAH! The alpha and omega, the LORD God, mighty one is revealed to us in the NT as Father, then more revealed as Father, Spirit, Son. As God reveals Himself to us in the persons of the Father, Spirit, and Son and in all of His virtues, these are in complete harmony, none are overemphasized over another virtue. For example, in our culture, God is commonly seen as love, without giving credence to His other attributes. Justice, righteousness and sovereignty is commonly left out. We should recognize society’s weakness in using only human language and the sinful propensity to try to create God in our own image instead of what is revealed. At best we can only say that we know God as He has chosen to reveal Himself primarily through Scripture and history through His Son and the Holy Spirit.
When we look at the Bible we can see the deity of Jesus throughout the entire Bible, but more so in the New Testament. One example of His deity is found at the baptism of Jesus where God calls Jesus is His Beloved Son (Mathew 3:16-17). As Elwell states, this has the most profound Christological implication and points out that He is not simply a son but the Son (John 20:17 & Elwell, 240). We can see through the Scripture that the Son and the Father are One (John 5:19, 30; 16:32). The Bible tells us that the Father loves the Son and gives Him the authority to judge (John 5:22 & Elwell,
“God is the creator of all things. He formed everything in six days and on the seventh day, he rested” (Genesis 1 KJV). God gave the life of his son, Jesus Christ, so the world could be saved through him. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16 KJV). Through religion I have garnered a belief of God and Jesus Christ. Through these beliefs I have developed worldviews and through these worldviews I have learned to structure my life. Charles Kraft defines worldview, “Culture consists of two levels: the surface behavior level and the deep worldview level. At the core of culture and, therefore, at the very heart of all human life, lies the structuring of the basic assumptions, values, and allegiances in terms of which people interpret and behave. These assumptions, values, and allegiances we call worldview.” (Anthropology for Christian
Who is God? This is a very important question to understand the answer to for anyone who calls themselves a Christian. To know and understand God, there are certain gospel essentials that need to be fully understood. In this paper, I will provide information on these gospel essentials which are: knowing God and all that he is, understanding humanity and their relationship with God, who Jesus is, the restoration and why it is so important, an analysis of the Christian faith, and a reflection of my beliefs.
God desires to be reconciled back to man. This was the very reason God came down from heaven in human form. However, the problem before reconciling with God is recognizing the curse of death placed on humanity in the garden. God is indeed much greater than man, and this is proven when He sends his one and only Son to die on the cross for the broken men. John Piper sums up this thought up perfectly in the following statement, “God’s love is different than natural human love. God loves us when we’re
We as humans like to question whether God exist or not because, humans like to know anything and everything. In the Christian religion, there are many different types of denominations and the one that will be acknowledged is The Disciple of Christ. When we learn about God its mostly of how we praise him and how to pray to him. These five worldviews that are chosen to help show how The Disciples of Christ denomination see the world Christianity and that is with The Concepts of God, World and Humanity, Worship, Humanity’s problem and solution, and The Afterlife. The Christian religion is sort of complex because there are so many other denominations they may think differently than my denomination of Christianity. Nevertheless, we follow
The Christian worldview is termed as the intellectual and conceptual framework by which the world organizes and interprets their Christian living experience. It involves reviewing pantheism and naturalism. Naturalists hold that God does not exist while the pantheist believes that God exists and that He is
I believe Jesus is fully God and fully man (Phil 2:6-11), one person with two natures, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:34-38), accredited by God through miracles, wonders and signs which God did through Him, died on the cross to justify all sinners who believe in Him from God’s wrath (1 Pet 3:18; Rom 5:9), arose from the dead (Acts 2:23-24) and is now at the right hand of God the Father (Heb 8:1), and will come again to establish His kingdom (Matt 26:64).
God is God, no matter how simple that statement is, it is true and always will be. No one can know God perfectly, He is infinite and no one can wrap their minds around just exactly who God is. Most of us know about God, but that is quite different from actually knowing God. Our God is bigger and greater than anything anyone could ever think of. Yet the Bible tells us many things about God and the way He works that could help us better understand Him. Our God is three in one, God being three in one is what we call the “Trinity”. Trinity is the Christian doctrine that deals with and also describes the nature of God. In the Trinity, the three persons are God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If God is not
