If we pass the light through two narrow slits diffraction causes the emerging beam from slits and then due to interfererence of light ray a series of alternative bright and dark Fringes pattern will be obtained on the screen . the wave nature of light causes the light waves passing through the two slits to interfere at the screen and bright and dark band obtained depending on interference is constructive or destructive . The shape of these Fringes will be rectangular or straightline . If we paas the light through two hole in place of slits then Fringes pattern will be in shape of family of ellipse .
