What do you mean by surrogacy?

Dru is a very busy student. They are carrying 18 hours of classes, all of them requiring on-campus attendance and three to six hours of work outside of class per week. They also have two part-time jobs: one as a bank teller in the afternoons after class and one doing whatever's needed, whenever it's needed at their family's restaurant. Dru is engaged to their high school sweetheart and the pair plan to marry within the year. The two share a small apartment, a small car, and a small dog that seems to need a lot of attention all the time. Dru enjoys gaming online, but tries to limit their sessions to a few hours twice a week. They also spend part of their weekends helping out their grandparents with home-repair tasks--which they enjoy doing but also feel guilted into by their parents. At least once a week, Dru meets with their best friend for some sort of food and, if they have the time, a drink while they commiserate about how busy they are and how it seems like they never get enough…

So I don't know if you can help me with this. But my professor doesn't explain things at all. And I have no idea what this question is wanting.
