Applied Managerial Marketing

Michelle, you wanted to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of high-tech or digital
promotional tools and Traditional approaches?
The advantages of digital promotions are that our world is in a digital age and as far as marketing
is concerned it’s all about connecting with customers in the right place at the right time. One of
the advantages is the low cost. It cost very little to subscribe to an email marketing provider and
send direct emails to hundreds of thousands of customers on a mailing list. This method gives us
the ability to get a huge return on our investment. Email marketing campaigns on social media
platforms cost very little compared to the traditional way of marketing. (Prowly, 2022) Another advantage is that our business can use their digital platform to build or enhance our
brand through websites and blogs. With doing that we can target our audience, or customers by
basing it on their preferences or actions on the website. Finally, digital marketing can go worldwide. Our marketing ad campaigns can be seen
worldwide. This gives us greater engagement and keeps us relevant in our highly competitive
business. The disadvantage of digital marketing is that when you are implementing websites or other
digital methods it fails sometimes because companies may focus on too little strategic solutions.
You will need immediate and constant attention to real-time customer complaints because these
complaints are usually visible to the public. (Deepak G., 2020)
Another thing is that security and privacy issues are most important issues that needs to be
monitored on a continual basis. These efforts need to be combined into a comprehensive system
that generates and nurtures your ideas and goals. (Prowly, 2022)
You also wanted to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of traditional marketing?
The advantage of traditional marketing is that you can connect with your local customers, you
will be viewed as being credible and more stable. The tactics of using newspaper ads, local TV
commercials or billboards puts our business in the heart of the community. (Lucid, 2022)
Printed material and ads are viewed as more trustworthy. The perception is that our company is
successful and growing. The disadvantage is that the tradition approach is more expensive. Traditional is a lot harder to
measure than digital and takes a longer time to execute and refine. (ABA, 2015-2022) References:
